It is not a contradiction at all, it is about a pitch that was never going to dry out and Batting on it in a 4th innings was always going to be the dangerous part, particularly with a Batting line up that was too old or sadly out of form....Dave Warner the exception.Clarke should have backed himself and his Batsmen to get a score on Day 1 minus Daniel Vettori...the 5 day weather forecast told him that. Our Bowlers did an exceptional job but that Batting line up was to dodgy for a fourth innings chase.

Khawaja should open with Warner on Boxing Day. Yes he has not made a stack of runs and his technique is still dodgy, but he values his wicket. His technique will improve with that attitude. Warner has little technique, he has brute strength and power. If he can stay in long enough to get his eye in, look out. Without Warner today we would have been bowled out very cheaply. I actually just re-read the HUN article. I don't think Neeld was harsh at all. He is merely challenging a group of AFL elite players, coaches and ultimately himself. As he has said before "i only get one chance at this job" He wants to give it his absolute best shot. If the playing group don't measure up Neeld will go, before the playing group, as what happened to Dean Bailey found out.
