  1. A diverse answer i suspect, but we should be targetting these people right now
  2. I have considered Jeeelong an interstate club for years....
  3. No big deal, i made a point i have always believed and still do. We are also in a unique position whereby we are not part of a suburb, we are part of a city... Pert should be excited about those prospects of growth. Melbourne is growing by over 1000 people a week and has been for 2-3 years now. Possibilities
  4. We do, and i hope Pert can do just that, i am just saying there are a lot of dormant supporters out there who are off the radar at this point
  5. I don’t care what you wish to believe there are 4-5 generations of supporters who have walked away from supporting the club, because we have been so bad for so long. Some jumped ship and are lost, others just don’t support. Some of them returned 30 years ago in ‘87 briefly, but it was a false dawn and they retreated. 60 years ago we were THE big club, we can get back there. But if supporters keep tthinking small it will be a lot harder
  6. Many years ago i worked for a market research company whilst at Uni. I take no notice of their figures for that reason, so much was fudged blatantly. My point is, i think we have a huge dormant supporter base who do not even admit they are demons. We have been crap for to long!
  7. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$’s
  8. We have a huge dormant supporter base.Stop thinking we are a small club forever. This is great timing, My respect for Bartlett has just risen substantially. He has had a long term since he arrived (New York Yankees) I have wondered whether phase 2 would happen.
  9. We look forward. PJ has done his job magnificently and is always welcome to attend MFC functions. Pert has been head hunted as the best replacement...
  10. I think PJ would be ecstatic that Pert is the man to grow the club after he rebuilt the foundations. Both were topline operators of big clubs
  11. There is no pleasing some people...
  12. Absolutely. But you have to know how to maximize that growth (Bulldogs...)
  13. Thanks. Membership exploded whilst Pert was there. Exactly what we need, from that we get exposure and better fixtures. To grow you must take carefully planned risks. Some may fail, but the wins can be huge.
  14. Not sure ET but i would guess 35-40,000 in 2007. I do know it grew quickly...
  15. He helped them get to 75,000 members That is exactly what we need right now. PJ built the solid foundations and should forever be revered at the MFC
  16. I remember that day so well!
  17. SWYL’s take on this decision Pert was a great CEO at The Filth, he was there for 11 years. Probably too long in the AFL Bubble. I hope he is as good as PJ, this club must be grown. We are Melbourne. Capital City of AFL Heartland Let’s start being that club 80,000, 90,000, 100,000 Members is what we should expect. I have heard people on here say that we will never be a big club. I say Bullsh!t to that.
  18. That is your opinion. Correct. I would have said the same thing regardless of whoever was sitting with the thug. Matthews belted players often behind the play, from behind. And he hit them hard. And he knows it, i just reminded him on behalf of Stephen Smith, who was a fine player, who played the ball. He still has headaches today. I am sure Lethals Grandkids are not scarred from my altercation.
  19. Wow....BANG!! this is right out there. Pert knows how to run a big club, to be a big club, this should be the aim of the MFC....
  20. Deefella you can stand by your post as many times as you like, the reality of it is that you’re just having a Tantrum in the Supermarket aisle with your mummy. [censored] just didn’t work out the way you wanted it too
  21. 3 players need to be turned over each year....
  22. Takes to much energy out of the side. Top 4 sides wouldn’t go near it, which is why it was thrown to us.
  23. Roosy was great and very diplomatically hinted that it was time to cease the NT arrangements
