Thanks to everyone who came along on Friday night. It was a fun night. Of course it would have been great to have more people there but given the event was organised within 9 days, it wasn't too bad.

There are plans to have another function this year. The Mini Ox Squad as we like to call ourselves will be organising this. Stay tuned.

Well Keep me posted on any events. I had a great time & i think the St.kilda bowls club is a great place to have it.

The other interesting thing is in fact quite a worrying thing that I know Jim has made a priority, and that is that we are quite high up relatively speaking on adults, yet near the bottom all up. This obviously suggests an alarmingly low number of kids, which augurs badly for the future. I think it's quite obvious from this that youth has to be a priority. Explains the Casey Fields undertaking as well.

When Melbourne starts winning games regulairly Kids will come on board. Gimmicks will only keep kids interested for a certain time. Melbourne have a low child membership because our trophy cupboard is empty. I almost jumpred back in the seventies simply because i got tired of being stirred up & ridiculled, it was tough, and yhat was almost 30 years ago-and still we are winless. If jim and the board can sort things out i am confident that kids will return.

We need to organize small events regulairly-keep the money trickling in but reguliar. Much better than one big hit. More fun and more involvement.

Back in the 80's Hawthorn had a sausage sizzle every thursday night after training. They got big numbers there and would have made some healthy bucks. Sausages, white bread and Tom sauce are not expensive.

We got to do that sort of thing as well as the Top Dollar Stuff. So that we can all say in whatever way "We all helped win that Flag" and shall continue to help.

For all my uni exams i did a few weeks ago I donned the 98 melbourne jumper (The one made by canterbury). It's a long sleeve and cause of those chilly mornings in the exam room, it's the only thing i'm proud to wear while keeping myself warm.

I still wear my '87 Woollen jumper. I love it coz its the year we returned to being Dark Blue. How i hated that light blue jumper!!!!!

I have been doing this for the last few years whilst living in Adelaide and have never been more proud than the day a young boy came up to me on the train and said "My Dad barracks for the Crows and he makes me as well, but when I grow up I am going to barrack for the Demons because I like Flash & Aussie".

The boy would've been no older than 6 and he was on his way to private school for the day.... You should've seen the smile on his face when I replied "Well this is the 2008 membership scarf and I want you to remember the day you became a true Demon supporter"..... as I put the scarf around his neck! "Keep it in your bag and put it in a safe place until you are ready to tell your Dad" I said....

How in the world are we losing so much money?
