What did other Demonlanders think about the incident where, I think it was Sylvia, did a long , well weighted pass from CHB up the centre for Tom to run on to with the flight. There was a (fairly distant) Eagle player coming from the opposite direction. A small hesitation, and the opportunity was lost. Some may say that self-preservation was sensible. But Brad Green, Jared Rivers,Clint Bartram etc, would have marked that ball.

It made me wonder about our big money offer......and hope it's not accepted.

Massive shirk! Was very dissapointing, had a look didn't go back hard enough. morton has been slammed on here for being soft, this was as bad as anything he has done.

Talk to there managers, let them know what we are thinking and they will talk to there clients.

We just need Davey, Green and Sylvia to work harder and run harder to get the oppurtunities these guys get. Batram had the two running shots from running his arse off! If Davey for one had half the work ethic Batram did he would be an A grade player!

I did sit there yesterday and think if we had fev we would at leat have a target. But no he isnt worth the risk. What happens in a game where we are getting thrashed next season. Fev just sooks and gives up. I know Fev is a great kick for goal but just remember bad Fev to.

We dont need his bad influence.

Just like our captain and Davey? At least he will make a physical impact. We should explore the option of Fevola. See where our list is at after trade week and delistings etc. Prefer him than Bate and Dunn.

Cook will need another year to develop, look at how Port are working will Butcher. No need to rush him. Fitzpatrick is a different sort of player who will be a higher forward/ruck.

Should definately be looked at. A full forward who can kick 60-80 goals a year shouldn't be discarded straight away. People don't like him thats why they are so against it. With him we play finals next year, he will need a strong coach which Bailey wasn't. The issue would be having Fevola Davey and Green in the same side. If they have off days we will look terrible.

I think he will be 2 on the list behind Malthouse. Will be a fantastic coach.

May be better off without Sylvia.Keep only those that are 100% comitted to the MFC.

Sylvia may be committed to MFC but just working out contract details don't forget that. Should have been played on the ball yesterday not sure why he was stuck at half forward. Still doesn't excuse the horrible bit of play where he didn't give it to Dunn. This is what happens when players are struggling, they think they are having a bad game so they need to get there name on the scoreboard.

Despite popular belief there is massive confidence at the club that Scully will stay at Melbourne as will Sylvia is what I got from the Presidents lunch.

Had this same discussion at the Presidents lunch with a few people on our table. Clearly we benefited from have a strong 50-60's and have a lot of people in there 50-60's going for the club. Going forward its all about success and the supporters will follow and come up. The issue is we were saying is when Melbourne lose they are embarrassing. They rarely have a red hot crack for more than ten minutes in games. The presidents lunch was ok, nothing really to write home about but everyone is relying on Jimmy Stynes all the time.

I think the best way to look at it is we may win more games than last year but we are further away from the top teams.

Things I reckon:

1. At the moment Nathan Jones is indispensable for us.

2. Howe is going to be a genuine gun.

3. Blease will also make it.

4. Scully's workrate is pretty amazing, but his skills are not. If GWS offers him millions of dollars he'd be foolish not to take it. We shouldn't match the offer for him.

Jones, MAcdonald, Moloney and these guys just work there butt off. Even Batram works hard all day. THere skills aren't there but I wish Davey and Sylvia could work half as hard as these guys. Davey doesn't chase, doesn't go in. Also Scully if he wants the money he will need to put his body on the line. That instance in the last quarter when he didn't want to go back hard enough was soft.

He has one of the worst defensive skills in the team. In terms of manning up can only chase. Forward pocket to chase people down and create goals.

GWS can approach/talk to players whenever but they can only sign during these windows I thought. Might be mistaken though, also happens a lot with other clubs talking to player during the season. Would be very suprised if clubs weren't tlaking to say Matty Bate at the moment.

The reason Moloney has to just jam it on his boot is team mates is they don't block for him. Watching Carlton and the way every player in the stoppage blocks for Judd was great to watch. We need to be more selfless.

It was a good article. Didn;t agree with all of it. I like Bartram and would keep him. We have missed Macdonald also. But didn't make up rumours and was to the point.

Thankfully for us no Carazzo for the Blues, he always plays on and completely shuts down Aaron Davey, not to mention niggling and annoying the sh1ts out of him.

If Setanta was playing you can guarantee someone like him will always kick two or three against us too, so thats also a plus. Is this Brock McLeans first game against us?

Jurrah unlucky though, he missed a week with the flu and then was ordinary but he was playing forward against a side that won by 31 goals!
