if it had been paid oob deliberately (just saying) who was the closest freo player? doggo? lol would have been at the 49m mark so kicked probably no closer than 55m. a very difficult kick hard up on the boundary and having to kick directly over the mark. i know jamie elliot did it but that was a freak kick. Even a point would have been difficult. given freo's kicking accuracy for the game, i'm tipping it would have been oob on the full

relying on "when i heard the siren" is not very logical light travels much faster than sound. how anyone sitting at home on tv could tell EXACTLY when the siren went is beyond me i believe umpires are also mic'ed up for the siren so they in fact probably hear it before the players

but if you watch the clock, it went to 00 just as the ball bounced before the boundary line so it didn't go oob in game time

  13. bet he got a good real estate deal and a high paying job lined up for next year. he's not a charity, just flexible

  16. viney.............successfully but yeajh, we typically don't
  17. i think you meant to say without.............lol
  18. macca, the fact he went off his feet quite a distance from contact meant he had less driving force than if he had a foot anchored. people carry on a bit about jumping but in fact it can reduce impact force, but it does increase the height of contact making head contact a better possibility, However less so if you are as short as kossy (171cm)
  19. they certainly showed inconsistency by only giving buddy 1 week. pretty dumb if they claim to be that serious with cozzy and the concept of potential risk. cozzy is a midget compared to buddy. definitely worth a challenge
  20. actually i agree that smother was the wrong word i meant to really say that he wanted to deflect the disposal by bumping him as he was kicking but he timed it badly. if smith had delayed his kick by a second he might have succeeded, so yes that's on kossy....but that is why i thought it was somewhat footy related and not just malice my bad choice of words originally
  21. macca i think "deliberate" (or "intentional") means that he intended the offence, i.e. striking head high. His badly timed attempt at a smother was deliberate but not to strike high which was why it was classified careless.. does that make sense?
  22. i'm not so sure you can write off kossy's actions as being a "npn-football act". kossy is lightning fast and has noticeably and miraculously smothered or deflected opposition disposals in the past where others wouldn't have had a chance in hell. sure, he got his timing wrong here but once he committed that was it. he deserved to be reported but not on the basis it was a "non-football act". even the mro rated it as careless rather than deliberate.
  23. exactly, the notion of upgrading a low impact collision to a high impact collision when it patently wasn't is an abuse of process. if they specifically want to highlight (punish) a potential outcome they should add an extra criteria to the decision matrix rather than bastardise a existing criteria of different spcificity. kossy may well deserve 2 weeks (debateable) but the process is a dogs breakfast.
  24. oh c'mon, irw, you are starting to sound like paul keating lecturing others shut the # up
