  1. doesn't pass the sniff test and ollie wines gets nada and....and....and....could go on all night with the lack of consistency and the whole appeal process i wonder if the afl can see the farce in the whole system......not that they'd admit it
  2. and in handing it back he elected to handball it, not throw it back, and i think this action prompted the aints player to think it was play on despite no umpire calling play on.. it certainly was 'unlucky' but then many legitimate frees are 'unlucky' one way or another, that's footy
  3. and did you notice who had 89.5% efficiency........yes, dom tyson
  4. agree with all that webber ....however... there is some evidence coming out that some helmet material can reduce (slightly) the rate of acceleration. there was research published here on demonland about that. i've forgotten the company/brand for the moment. a small improvement in some cases could make a difference
  5. i dunno ethan, he's only 21 and very talented. knows how to find the pill and always dangerous in the forward line. i'd at least be sounding out his manager
  6. that's what i thought seeing that vision. though the video angle was not very good. given the guy was out cold there must have been something in it but it's not as though he lined him up or anything. i couldn't even work out what part of himself he hit him with. looked maybe a fist he was trying to knock ball out with, but it wasn't too clear
  7. rubbish, picket Gout and Potassium Potassium is a must in your gout diet Potassium is an electrolyte that is found in water and many different foods in whole grains, fruits, vegetables, milk and beans. Fruits that are high in potassium, 200 milligrams or more are avocados, bananas, apricots, cantaloupes, dates, figs, kiwis, mangos and oranges. Veggies that are high in potassium are artichokes, squash, beets, carrots, beans, peas, potatoes and tomatoes. Other foods that are high in potassium are cocoa, granola, bran, milk, nuts, seeds and yogurt.
  8. and again and again and again and again.........that should take care of september
  9. ollie should go and buy a tattslotto ticket whilst his luck holds
  10. should be dry and good conditions Sunday 13 August Summary Min 9 Max 17 Possible late shower. Possible rainfall: 0 to 0.4 mm Chance of any rain: 30% Melbourne area Partly cloudy. Slight (30%) chance of a shower in the evening. Winds northerly 25 to 35 km/h.
  11. rest of the world sporting community will be puzzled if not outraged the afl never wanted wada/asada oversight and only accepted it under political and financial gov pressure they are still (unofficially) unaccepting and behaving like a petulant child
  12. doesn't have to be a 'sling', that is just one method of force. watch grundy, he was already bringing him to ground when he had a second effort and increased his force at a time brown was defenceless resulting in the concussion. the question of brown maybe attempting to kick the ball is irrelevant, even if he was aware of it which i doubt. i don't believe the damage was incidental/accidental because of the undue force, even if it was a split second decision (as was bugg;s). there is too many players having their heads slammed into the turf
  13. pinning the arms is fine, no need to change. driving a player with force into the turf is not fine
  14. there is difference between tackling a player and bringing him to ground versus driving him into the ground especially with his arms pinned. and lets not kid ourselves, there are players still around who deliberately try to hurt a player and many supporters still romanticise the notion of physically putting a player out of the game grundy did more than just bring a player to ground, there was a definite 2nd action where he increased the force and drove him into the turf
  15. you're obviously talking about something different than what i was i didn't ask for a lecture on the dangers of bushfires, i thought that rather obvious
  16. so what earl? they still got it wrong, and their first option was to take the pessimist approach as it fit their agenda
  17. the last 2 years they predicted (before summer) temperatures and fire risks way in excess of what actually happened. they also attributed it to climate change. it was classic scare tactics and demonstrated their inability to accurately forecast everyone knows that every victorian summer has potential for sudden bush fires and requires vigilance and swift action. that's just common sense, but the last 2 years they got carried away with dire predictions and no need for the ad hominems or i'll just ignore you in future
  18. 1. the bathtub analogy was dumb 2.there are thermal layers (in places) below cold layers in the ocean. measured fact. 3. i agreed there is no evidence of heat hiding in the ocean
  19. prior to the last 2 summers we were warned by the 'experts' to prepare ourselves for a torrid hot summer and record breaking bushfires didn't happen. expect we will get the same scare tactics this year
