atm there are probably 5 players with an existing contract past year-end who would consider themselves very lucky if they are exempt from pruning. agree this not very sensible and they might develop an exit mechanism, but it will be messy whichever way it goes.

yes, i wondered about that possibility. even if not over the revised salary they may be with min payment requirements to pay those re-contracted out of the remaining players to make up the new list numbers i think one way or the other (voluntary or not) existing contracts will be renegotiated within certain guidelines.
