  1. I just heard that he's "Training the house down" along with Newton
  2. Does she know for sure or is she, like the rest of us, awaiting confirmation . The Southern Stand is about to be refitted, the idea being that the old changerooms could become home to the Demons. This, like most of this talk is just that at the moment, Talk.
  3. If nothing is signed yet maybe there isn't anything to release. We're all doing the limbo. You would however expect that if Bubbledome was a definite then the club wouldh've already said so.
  4. What were we thinking? So we were going to sign up to a deal we couldn't afford at a venue that wasn't suitable. Let's hope Mr Gardiner has chipped in to the DD.
  5. Bubbledome appears to be the fanciful ponderings of our previous administration. With the cost cutting going on you wouldn't imagine we'll be going ahead with it. Let's hope the MCG and MFC can work out a suitable long term arrangement.
  6. A one year contract is plenty for him. How many average players does one club need?
  7. Or at least 3 times every 2 years. Take Essendon for example about MFC getting screwed finacially. 2008 Ess home game at our home ground? 2009 Ess home game at Telstra to maximise there profit with a crowd of over 40,000 expected.
  8. I'm guessing this but from what I read and can decipher the MFC will have it's season training base at Gosch's and gym etc will be at the MCG. The cost to the club of this will be neglible. The cost of Bubbledome is too much for the club hence the return to the G has become such a priority. The previous admin could only raise around $500,000 of the costs which I believe totalled more than a million for Bubbledome. The silence from the club is expected in such trying circumstances. The club is a mess and it's going to take time, patience and understanding from all of us. But just think how good it will be if they get it right! 10 - 15 years minimum to really get this club going, and that's if they get it right.
  9. We finally appoint a "coach" to coach our team who has a proven track record of success and because he's not a recently retired midfielder we slam the club for it's decision. Go Figure? I've just read the dribble on Demonology about this. People talk of Harvey, someone even mentioned Woewodin for f--s sake. Give the club some support. Mark Williams is aa experienced coach who knows what it takes to win, I for one am gald he's been appointed rather than some untrained novice coach with an inflated sense of self. ( Paul Williams anyone!)
  10. If you read Caroline Wilson's article about Coliingwood's VFL ground it mentions in the last few paragraphs that MFC might not be moving to the Olympic Park precinct after all. Sounds like we're going to use Casey and the MCG as our only bases, with Gosch's Paddock to run around on. If it's true then we're back at the G in a "big way" which is great.
  11. Possibly our club if the AFL had their way!
  12. B: Whelan Martin Garland HB: Rivers Warnock Frawley C: Morton Mclean Grimes HF: Sylvia Miller Davey F: Maric Newton Bate Foll: PJ Buckley Bruce Int: Spencer/Meesen Dunn Green Moloney Emg: Wonaeamirri McDonald Pick 17 CJ
  13. This is what we don't and can't know. I'm putting faith in the new board to make the best decision for the club. I still think your probably being a bit dramatic with the "point of collapse" talk. Interesting times, sure beats reading about the cricket!
  14. This statement is probably spot on until the current board stepped in. The new board that Stynes has assembled has some very good business brains in it. The current board is looking at the club's position as a whole, not as a bunch of disjointed parts that we have been for so long. I'm all for the summer move to casey but let's get it right. Remember that the club is deep in talks with the AFL and the MCG and we don't really know all the details. I'm guessing that once one thing gets signed off, several will, and the club will get what it needs and the benefits will flow. This all takes time and careful consideration. The consequences of a wrong move here are not worth thinking about.
  15. Heard Jimmy call us the "Family Club" at one point
  16. Top 4 yes, but miles away from what we're all chasing. Their constant topping up is putting them closer and closer to the eventual disaster that our season was.
  17. Matthews and Roos are just more exrerienced and don't use the usual cliches. They still don't answer all the questions, coaches never do. Bailey doesn't need to feed all the clubs information to the drama hungry media and public. Just be patient and let his actions do the talking. Clarkson hardly talks to the media at all but do you think Hawk fans are worried.
  18. Did you hear this from the horses mouth!
  19. Finally we agree Mo. I knew it would happen eventually
  20. Dees reject Casey speculation Maybe we should all just be a little patient. I'm finding the stalling as annoying as the rest of you who are keen on Casey but this is a big deal and all the details need to be thought through. We've got a new board who are weighing up alot of issues at the moment and with the limited funds available this will take time. Now go outside and breathe!!
  21. The sad thing is you actually believe in the rubbish you pedal. To think it out of the question for a well paid sportsmen to travel for 40 mins to train with their team is one of the most ridiculous things I have read. Senior Executives earning in the millions sit in morning peak hour for longer.
