  1. I for one would be more than happy to have Davey captain our club. Grimes misses by a year or two, but he would make a great captain going by what we have thus far seen.
  2. Sadly you are correct. The only thing we can do about it is start winning. I'm thinking that this is just around the corner.
  3. Had we been asked this question before we played Freo we would have received a much more positive response. The fact that so many put so much faith in one NAB performance makes me think that a lot of you live in a fishbowl. We'll easily beat Richmond, Roll Brisbane and most likely beat one of North or Hawthorn. Don't over rate the Hawks their backline is about as good as our current forward line. It'll be a close game.
  4. With the amount of cash raised by the DD program you'd suggest that the right Melbourne supporter/s would be found. We can't escape the fact that if we don't grow this club significantly over the next 15 years then players will start to choose the bigger, more powerful clubs, because when it's all said and done that's where the money is. The only way to do that is to win premierships and more than one. I hope Dean Bailey has wide shoulders because if he looks up he'll notice quite a load.
  5. I reckon if we looked hard enough we'd find the people we needed. It only takes 1 benefactor to pay Scully a little extra to keep him a Demon. I wouldn't panic yet. In saying don't panic we may well end up panicking. The system of extra payments is totally absurd and helps keep the competition uneven, combined with free trade and the result could be the death of several Victorian clubs. it's not too hard to guess who they would be.
  6. Tell me which big man on our list are we going to replace him with. Please don't waste my time talking about small forward lines being great. That kind of dribble won't wash. The fact remains he's the only player on our list who resembles a key forward. The likes of Bate, Sylvia and Petterd simply don't have the height. Jurrah is still learning, Watts is too raw. that leaves, you guessed it, Miller who gives his all in every contest.
  7. It's past your bedtime
  8. Better this year than next
  9. Second Half 2010 Rivers(A) Warnock(B+) Bennell(BEE) Strauss Frawley(A) Garland(A) Morton(A) Grimes(A) Blease Sylvia(A) Bate(BEE) Watts Jurrah(B+) Green(B+) Petterd(B+) Jamar(BEE) Jones(B+) Scully(A) Trengove(A) McDonald(BEE) Martin(B-) Bruce(B+) Jetta(B-) Wonaeamirri(B-) Tapscott, Maric(BEE) Moloney(B+) BEE represents the second letter in the alphabet which represents the Demon Icon, hence I have written BEE You'd expect those unrated players to be B+ or A Quite possible that over the next 3 - 4 years the likes of Scully, Trengove, Watts, Jurrah, Grimes, Morton, possibly Blease, Frawley, Garland and Bate will all end up AA standard If these team can get on the park and stay on the park expect a big finish to the year. S**t, the Fire may really have started. Don't rate MacDonald - Brisbane reject for a reason. Dunn I hold hopes for but the writing is appearing on the wall. We need one or two of our young rucks to take a few steps forward but that will take 2 - 3 years Bruce can easily play like an A grader as can Green so that would certainly be a huge bonus
  10. Show me the money! I'll need odds!
  11. Since the world's been turning...?
  12. 3 out of 6 Hawthorn, Richmond and Brisbane. Our 3 losses by an average of 25 points. Most consistent comment from opposition "They are going to be a very good side"
  13. Davey for 3 years, then one of Grimes, Watts, Scully, Trengove.
  14. Grimes Sylvia Trengove Frawley Jamar Bate Morton Green Davey List in no particular order.
  15. Read the posts in question or better still let him answer
  16. Read your own post moron. I said you can't fault Miller's effort and you replied that I must be joking. So when it comes to questioning his efforts you said it.
  17. Are you going to tell me that Miller doesn't give his all? Yeh, let's put one of our many great ruckmen up forward instead of Miller. No wait, even better, let's bring back Robbo. Let's talk rubbish posts. The very best of Little Stinga 1.Morton's a dud, 2.Bring back Robbo. 3.Miller doesn't give his all. Do you even go to the football?
  18. If you must post then can you stop posting the rubbish you thus far have been coming up with. Watch Miller's efforts for a whole match and you just can't find fault with him. Sure he is not the best forward but no one else in our team is either. If you were to take him out of the side as you suggest can you tell me which experienced big bodied player will replace him. Now think before you answer or just use the one I will provide. There is no one else. Stop harking on about Miller. He will be superseded when Watts, Bate, Jurrah and potentially Petterd have developed into a cohesive unit. Even then he may remain in and become quite useful as he draws lesser backmen and is no longer the sole focal point. As for Robbo, He is done and dusted and rightly so. Time to move on.
  19. What time out could we expect for this kind of injury I really don't like injuries to one of our better young players
  20. For the system to work as intended then all player payments that arise because he plays for a particular club need to be added to a "salary cap", sponsorship and jobs for Visy included. Any other system is legalised cheating and involves the AFL pandering to the wishes of the rich clubs. What is getting lost here by the AFL and these clubs is that the integrity of the competition is being slowly eroded. The question required of clubs needs to be. Would you employ Judd for this role if he played for another club? Personally I think the Players Union is the main problem here. There constant push for higher renumeration for it's members will eventually lead to a grossly uneven competition, ruining the game for everybody. Don't for a second think that they are happy with the new free trade agreement. This is the tip of the iceberg and it won't be long before the restrictions get weakened and it's a free for all. I hope this doesn't happen but I'm not confident. Greed has f@@@ed everything else up why wouldn't do the same to Football as we know it.
  21. And to top it all off, not a semblance of a game plan!
  22. You're not the guy sitting behind me in the member's yelling "Kick It" are you?
  23. Because we lost an NAB cup match!
  24. He's not a leader. Davey for 3 years then one of the new boys.
  25. It's certainly in the club's mind that Fitzpatrick play forward but Jack is the CHF. Someone with his height, pace and agility needs more room than FF offers.
