  1. These types of pick ups seem shrewd to me as you are buying low.. You could pick up a 50 game player who hasn't quite shown enough, or a player such as Michie, Riley and Newtown who haven't really had enough opportunity. At very least these guys improve the the bottom end of the list. Now if we can just nail this draft thingy we might be able to add to to top part of the list. Dunn Frost Jetta Lumumba Mcdonald Garland Cross Tyson JKH Vince Dawes Kent Howe Hogan Garlett Foll: Jamar, Jones, Viney INT from: Michie, Newton, Watts, Bail, Grimes, Salem, Toumpas, Pedersen. NB: Purely authors opinion on rough 2015 side. Expecations re Viney and JKH that they can improve to be starting 18. NBB: This team lacks speed through the centre and will need to be addressed.
  2. No chance, and bail is highly likely set on own undertaking, as Redleg says, just to show up. None of this will affect his freedom.
  3. If Taylor believes that the players we want will be available as rookies then that makes sense.
  4. And the reality is that he will be on the LTI for 2015 anyway so in practical terms it will make no difference. I'd say it's a certainty. And I agree with BB that extending his contract would be a strange move in the circumstances.
  5. You would think that our intentions will be announced shortly and will have been well considered. Will be interesting to see what path we take. I really think we need to get 40 and 53 at this draft, forget the PSD it is redundant.
  6. Definite trend of becoming increasingly difficult to get the high picks right. Alternately the latent talent runs deeper and isn't being identified correctly.
  7. I read somewhere that Lever has a reach of 204cm (will confirm) which gives him a ruckman's reach. He also has the qualities that go with being an elite boxer. That is coordination, endurance, strength, balance, speed and grit. I haven't seen him in person but have a mate that has seen a lot of him. Those boxing traits all come through into his football. He is fearless. He has the tools in his game to be a versatile player. I need to find out how he did his knee, whether it was one of those innocuous ones which may indicate a weakness or whether it was a collision or fall. If the knees are sound and I am sure the club will do their diligence, I would be rapt to see him in the red and blue.
  8. He has an enormous scone. Mt Rushmore size and probs just as hard. It's no wonder he struggles to get around the park. He needs all those muscles to cart that thing around
  9. We're gonna need a bigger list.
  10. http://t.co/KK4zpyAkxP Controversial.....http://t.co/KK4zpyAkxP
  11. Wait till Emma Quayle's phantom draft. Usually spot on with the early picks.
  12. I like them, they are like a horror movie, tragic, yet entirely predictable. I don't hate everything you write, but on stuff like this I find you hilariously transparent.
  13. The topic is Mark Neeld's appointment at the bombers, not the decisions made at the MFC when Bagdad Bob was in tenure vs when he wasn't. It's tiring and ridiculous. I haven't expressed what I think of you, only your MO, which granted is very consistent.
  14. If that is the case then you would think that would be using ND53 unless we had something very good lined up at PSD
  15. Well you are very quick to raise your involvement in the club and express your expertise in matters such as "trade week" and at other times that you wish to assert your superior experience to the average Demonlander. And very slow to dicuss it when challenged and at risk of outting your allegiances.
  16. Here we go again. Remind us all when your involvement with the club began and ended. Bailey was a good man with a flawed plan and was a poor senior coach.
  17. It seems to me that the draft runs deepish in terms of mids. Later in the draft in other years you tended to get players with questionable disposal etc down the order. It seems that there is a group of really solid mids around aour 40 and our possible 53 picks. Of course my expect opinion is based on highlights and phatom draft profiles. Is there anyone with a more informed view?
  18. I suppose it depends how many solid midfielders you need in your rotations, and of the ones we have how many are actually good enough. Riley and Michie offer something and I hope that they improve in 2015, but neither are cemented senior players. It seems that there are some very solid mids that will go late in this draft. Gore was another mentioned and there are quite a few others that win the footy regularly and hit targets. Tapscott is either gone or to be rookie listed, and we have delisted a bevy of others who weren't up to it. Mckenzie and M Jones are not up to it. Bail is replaceable despite his best efforts. Trengove is LTI at best. If the solid mids are there late, we should stock up.
  19. Fairly vague language, and most phantom drafts will offer them up as the top four. I don't think you could declare anything a certainty until draft day, but I feel Lever is still very much in our calculations.
  20. There are a number of issues like this, and while I understand that they don't want to smother the talent there is nothing wrong with good old one on one footy as long as there is no scragging. They also don't flood or stack the defence which I don't mind. It means that bigger stronger forwards can dominate if the opposition don't have a suitable defender.
