Carlton stopped dead in the last. We just need a good start and we'll run all over them

Carlton hasn't been that good. The intensity is way lower than our game last night. Those talking definate straight sets need to chill out.

PODCAST: QF vs Collingwood
Who is to blame for the forward "connection" ? and lack of scoring when we get it in we've been hearing about it for 3+ years and always manages to be our downfall. Is it - Midfielders just blazing away - Forwards not leading to the right /dangerous spots or 3 leading to the same spot in the forward half. - Not having crumbers in the right spots (Kozzie is usually in the air flying for marks) - All of the above I understand we had Fritsch and Tmac coming in off long lay offs but they are experienced enough to be able to lead to the right spots. Multiple entries we hear so much about do in theory create more chances, but as Collingwood proved having less entries but higher quality give you better scoring chances when you go in there

Maynard must get at least four weeks
I think the AFL will orchestrate the following. Maynard gets 2 weeks (maybe 1or 3). That way the AFL can be seen to be protecting the players from concussion and litigation down the track. The verdict gets appealed. Maynard plays in the prelim.

Stuff drafting a kid, poach a key forward.
I'm more worried about our smalls trying to mark when they should be crumbing , kozzie the main offender. Yes our dump kicks in suck. But we still create alot of ground balls from them that get whisked away because of our lack of crumbers

Got Oliver in the head with his shoulder in the last qtr as well. Not to mention his flying knees and legs when contesting centre bounces

PREGAME: SF vs Carlton
So any preference on who we want to play next week? Sydney have carved us up on the G in recent times and Carlton beat us last time albeit contentiously. I'd prefer Carlton TBH . One thing we cant do is start like we did last time against the baggers or last night. Our starts are costing us big time

This ‘Premiership era’ wasted inside 50
Too much id say not moving enough. No method in leading patterns , barley any leads at all. Kick deep into a pocket or from defence long wide to a pack in the flank. No one leads into space and demands the ball ,too many arms up signalling a long kick to the ball carrier. When we move it quick bomb long and high too deep. The best entries in today's game is the kick into the centre area of the forward arc that is 25-35 out. We fail to do it as it forwards don't seem to lead or be there . We seem to be happy with repeat entries and base our game on it , but we get so many because our entries are [censored] and the ball get spat out, to our well set up defence and pumped back in. Rinse and repeat. Also if we insist on playing this way we need genuine crumbers disciplined enough to stay down and crumb. Kozzie isn't and Chandler and ANB are not genuine crumbers and usually knackered from all the running they do to be dynamic in the forward 50
