  1. What did I do wrong?
  2. I think this year's trading and drafting period will see the delisting of most of the players, who Demonlanders feel are not up to it. We will hopefully snare a FA mid who will add to our side and draft well. We will then have have changed 75% of the list that we had when Roos was appointed. It would be impossible to argue then IMO, that we don't have a better list than when he arrived. While we will still have some players who may not be the best in the AFL, we will have some serious talent on the list. The next step is to keep developing the younger players and teach the list a game plan that they can understand and implement. A game plan that can help us win games. IMO our players don't understand what they are to do when they get the ball, or where they are supposed to be when they haven't got it. I also think that the Coaches have had quite a few games where they have not been at their best.
  3. Thought he showed something and should keep his spot.
  4. Ins: blokes who can play footy, Outs; blokes who can't.
  5. I need more than alcohol to rid the taste of sunday.
  6. I reckon the snails and frogs would have played better than the Dees did.
  7. In answer to the opening post, there is one question you can ask about Roos and that is, why is he on AFL 360? He hardly says anything about the Dees and actually is hardly given any time to speak, as it is always about Buckley and the Pies and tonight Scott and the Cats. I actually feel embarrassed for him, sitting there like a cutout figure.
  8. Come on, don't be silly. He has probably said more than he should have already.
  9. Agree. I would drop HL to Casey for the rest of the year.
  10. I see 3 problems from yesterday. First, I feel that the Dogs are coached far better than us. They know where to go and what to do instinctively, while we react. Second, we will always lose when we play poorly skilled players, who continually stuff up disposal. Third, our coaches box let down the team yesterday. When the Dogs got their first 3 goals, we should have thrown in an extra man in defence. We did this after they got 8 goals at about the 29 minute mark of the first quarter and you could then see the change immediately. They stopped the free flowing footy and started going sideways. We caused some turnovers and for about 2 quarters outscored them. Then we go back to normal defence and wham bam and with the help of some pathetic umpiring, they massacre us. On a side issue, I think if you look at the stats over a number of years, the one side that smashes us with the umpires, are the Dogs. It happened again yesterday, for about the 20th time that I can recall, over about the last decade. Of course it didn't affect the win but again yesterday I think they got about 7 goals from frees and 50 metre penalties. They got numerous holding the balls while we couldn't and at one stage as usual the frees were about 17 - 5 their way before we got a few softies, when it was all over, to end up 19-10 against. We clearly do nothing about it. Eddie would be on the front page of the Sun.
  11. You would prefer Bail, who made 5 mistakes in about 6 minutes and has no future at the club.
  12. Watch their selection this week, they might have their eyes on Pick 1 and PSD 1.
  13. Couldn't agree more BB. IMO he has been a bust. he was sensational in the pre season and then collapsed. It is not the game plan that causes you to be outmarked constantly, fumble, take wrong options and generally play poorly. Grimes last few games have been far superior to HL's. If asked to keep one Grimes stays. This is probably unfair to say, but HL looks scared of the contest at times. He is a shadow of the Pies player he was. On another note, I was thrilled for Jack Watts, when he backed into a Dogs player to take a lovely mark. It was one of those courage moments and he passed with flying colors. Leigh Matthews praised the effort as well. Moments like that can make a player's career and hopefully Jack goes on to bigger and better in his career with us.He is a great bloke and hopefully becomes a Demon great.
  14. I failed Phys, Chem and Maths. Maybe I could head up a supplements team.
  15. Frost, Salem, Kent, Tyson, Pederson, Petracca, JT. That is 7. Yes I know Petracca hasn't played, but he is supposed to be a very good player.
  16. I think you will find that players in top sides get a lot longer to dispose of the ball than players in lower sides. Watching games besides Dees' ones, will prove that. In the lower sides, if a player with the ball is grabbed, he is often free kicked for holding the ball after a micro second, even often if he has disposed of it correctly. In the the top sides a player can be spun around 3 times as I saw yesterday and still allowed time to get rid of it. In the top sides it is play on or ball up and the in lower sides holding the ball. Really poor umpiring.
  17. Good luck with that. I think the best you will get is a fringe player or a low pick, if Port or the Crows can be bothered giving him a second chance.
  18. What, you are not coming to Etihad to see us get smashed again, but would rather prefer to get smashed yourself at home?
  19. Here we go again. Looks like the Salem and Tyson unavailability for the seniors will cost Casey the win.
  20. Funny you should mention that. I was only watching to see if we could recruit any guys who could really penetrate with their disposal, I have found plenty. Unfortunately, accuracy is still a problem, as there has still been a lot of behinds scored.
  21. If Lions finish last and Leuenberger goes on a massive contract, as a FA, they are entitled to pick 2 as compo same as we got 3 for Chip. If he is taken on a moderate contract, they are not entitled to that pick. As for a PP, they are so far ahead of our position when we asked, 2 years in a row and got denied, they would have no chance under the rules. However this is the AFL and we know how they can bend rules and do whatever they want.
  22. He was fantastic in the practice matches and went downhill immediately the season started. The one thing he seems to do ok is get to the spoil, but is not getting the ball enough to be effective. You would have to say Cross has been head and shoulders above him as a mature get. If his current form continues into next season, I don't believe he would make our 22 if we have a reasonable run with injuries.
