WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
First, don't make things up. Where did I say the difference in the draft picks is nothing? It clearly is something, but also clearly very little when you consider all along we were looking at losing 22. Second. How can you say a deal that is better than everyone on here was prepared to take, is a bad deal. I suppose we should have got him for nothing. I agree that is a better deal, but I don't think it would have happened. I agree with your last point, we can agree to differ.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
Explain to me how you would have got a better deal than we got? Most on here were expecting at best to lose 22. We didn't, we went down 4 spots and instead they get what hopefully will be a worse pick for them if we improve on 17th, in a worse draft. Please explain how we could have done better getting a good player?

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
Not in this trade. I posted a few days ago that he would be reasonable with us and he certainly was. He can't be criticized in this trade as we have done extremely well. I don't care what he does with the Saints or anyone else, he was good with us this time.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
We have given away a hopefully lower pick, in a worse draft next year, for dropping 4 spots on 22 this year in a stronger draft and got our man. That is great negotiating!

Splitting Draft Pick 3
Mark Stevens said tonight he could confirm that GWS will be making a big offer to us to get 3. Many of us have posted 3 for 6, since it got to GWS and a player, preferably Caldwell. That would be a good deal for us as we would probably grab the bloke we want with 6, maybe Weightman. But he said big deal and that could include another pick, maybe 40 which they got as compo for Tomlinson. We are in the box seat here to do a huge deal. As for Esava, it won't be happening.

A cheese platter.

Farewell Sam Frost
Frost deal getting close and could be done tomorrow. Most likely we want 30, as does GWS, for Patton. That is probably the hold up.

Josh Jenkins
And we love the Weid.

Tom Green (Drafted by GWS Giants)
Little whisper we will be nominating Tom Green, if we have pick 3 and will be happy to take him, if not matched by GWS. He also has a brother in the GWS academy, which could make it even more interesting.

Josh Jenkins
Conor Nash for Frost. That is my aim.

Josh Jenkins
Apparently Pies are into Jenkins.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
My AFL daily email says we are confident of getting Langdon deal done by end of week, which I assume is tomorrow.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
These trade periods just drag on. Nothing really happens until the last couple of days. If not for the AFL wanting the publicity, we could do it in 3 days.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
Could have got him last year for about 40.
-
Splitting Draft Pick 3
That guarantees GWS the 2 players they want after GC obvious 2.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
Is that the end of us splitting now?

Splitting Draft Pick 3
I don't understand this, Freo could have taken 6 and done the same deal with GWS, unless they are trying to showoff to their fans.
-
Splitting Draft Pick 3
I wonder if GWS has approached us about pick 3. Would be strange to go for 4 without asking us what we will do with 3. Still think we are in the box seat.

Josh Bruce
Hill for 6 is easy but then Howard, Jones, Ryder and Butler maybe, when their next pick is 59. I suppose the picks for Bruce and Steven could get Jones and Howard and Ryder could be 59 and Butler could be a 2020 pick. They have cap room and lose Bruce/Newnes/Steven and others to make more room.

Why are the Saints so attractive?
I don't know how the Saints will get all these players, Hill for 6 is easy but then Howard, Jones, Ryder and Butler maybe, when their next pick is 59. I suppose the picks for Bruce and Steven could get Jones and Howard and Ryder could be 59 and Butler could be a 2020 pick, so I guess I answered my own question. If they get all these players and then Ben King next year, they will be very dangerous. Carlton will also be a big improver if they add Papley, Martin and Betts/Butler, with their host of talented youngsters.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
I think King has told the Saints he will do what he can to join his brother next year. That is what I was told. That is why they won't keep Bruce, who they would only give one year to, because of Ben King. Most importantly though, speculate all you like about getting Ben King, but he is contracted and has to WANT to come to us before you can do any deal.

27 last June.

Sam Murray
Who knows, we don't leak these days.

Gun target - Key Forward recruit?
Saints will fold, as they are going all out next year to get Ben King and won't commit to more than one year for Josh Bruce. They also need salary cap room for the newbies Hill, Jones and whoever. If they get too smart they could shoot themselves in the foot.
