  1. Bernie's tag on Dangerfield was fantastic yesterday. His example in committing to his role would have rubbed off on Brayshaw (who looks a competitive beast already!) Salem, Vanders, Newton, etc. Still one of Mrs JR's faves!
  2. I'm sure Chook's commentary was only in reference to the late Dean Bailey's philosophy of getting games into new players.
  3. Come on, RM...you're better than that. JW was quite poor today...critique his performance properly.
  4. Col Garland was good today. Will Howe's mark win a Jeep?
  5. Humour? Feedback: not funny.
  6. Rename this discussion the Watts/Dawes hen peckin' party.
  7. Garlett owes his team a few....
  8. Injury prone is still a worry....
  9. I'm not being an apologist. I'm talking about our poor drafting (heavily documented already) and we chose a bad time to bottom out...and bottom out...and bottom out.
  10. Yep, and soon after the expansion teams came in and with all our shite drafting and recruiting, we're still at the bottom of the pile.
  11. Newton is quite slow.....
  12. Hogan will be a superstar! He will monster (already is) his opponents!
  13. Agree....hence he'll stay. Brad Scott said that Linday Thomas would be dropped if he missed 'should gets...' It would great to have that depth one day.....
  14. Kent missed a couple of easy, set shots.....would have put us 40 odd points up. In stronger teams, he'd get dropped for that.
  15. Time for Howe to go forward. I think he's ready after he spent 2014 learning to read the game.
  16. The 1988 Hawthorn team was immense....unbelievable. In 2000, they got punched up early by Wallis and no-one stood up.
  17. There hasn't been a combative element in this club since the Northey era.
  18. Don't think so....the footy world is waking up to this kid....
  19. I'm not detracting from the argument. Essendon's list is very, very good, coupled with their leaders standing up. The Melbourne list still needs to weed out sub standard footballers. In time, Salem, Viney, Tommy M and Viney will become generals in their own right.
  20. And, we had no leaders....Essendon has leaders in buckets. Further, I rate Essendon's list.
  21. Not excuses SWYL, just observations. If the skipper doesn't fire, our midfield lacks the experience and class to step up. I'm saying that some of our players have reached their optimum level, and alas, their best is not AFL standard.
  22. Essendon's list is better than ours and they have real talent and marque players all over the ground. And, they play for each other. Yesterday, we were thumped by a better team, with better players...
  23. Our midfield is equal to theirs, is it? Our ruck stocks are better than theirs? Disagree all you want - you can't handle the truth.
  24. You keep on avoiding the debate...allowing anger to overcome footy knowledge. Our list isn't good enough yet.....some have developed to their maximum, and their best is not AFL standard. Not all between the ears.
