  1. Agree. But in relation to being banged up he is actually not. He will be before long as he attacks the footy so well and crashes packs. If BBB is ready I wonder if we give JVR a spell? I think we need to give Smith a few more weeks. Faded 2nd half like many others but was our highest ranked player at half time and I'm liking what he brings.
  2. I'm hoping our capitulation against Geelong is just a by product of the bye with so many teams struggling first game back ( not that ours was as long as it should be). It was a tough slog and they rarely lose down there. But we have a number of players way down on form or carrying niggles. Max - worst game for nearly a decade and was missing for large chunks. Does not look as mobile as normal and dropping under 12 marks. JV - The man is a beast and finds a way through pain but that shoulder he reached for is not the one Stewart hits and is the same one as his 'stinger' from against Pies. May - hasn't looked right all year bar one or 2 games. Runs like he has a back injury. Clarry - say no more Grundy - walked to the rooms mid match, played on but looks sore. Petty- just back from long injury but was clearly not ready. Hibberd - needs to be managed. TMac and BBB - banged up for years. Kozi- terribly out of form, hopefully not an injury but why is he not getting more midfield time? Our injury list is short but I'm pretty sure it was last year as well late in the season only to find out how sore we were which was evident in our last QTR fade outs. Hope I'm wrong and history is not about to repeat itself. Our best is as good as anyone but can we bring it??
  3. That's Ok. If you'd like to hear what Goody said in the presser just watch any of the previous losses this year. Groundhog Day
  4. Really disappointing finish after looking the better team 2nd and 3rd qtrs. So many players MIA but WTF is up with Max! Worst game in years
  5. After reading the article I can't see any admissions of tanking. They knew a loss would hand them Cotchin however he said he had no instructions from board level and that he just had to let the boys play and see how it panned out.
  6. Yes but we will have 3 x 10 day breaks in a row. We will be the most rested, freshest team in the comp ready to take on the rest of the season.
  7. Think about it....it's a number all of us on here were very grateful for and still are!
  8. Anyone else see the Cats fan waving his guernsey with number 119 on the back during never tear us apart. Pure gold!
  9. Staggered that one coach didn't give Salem a vote.
  10. Don't forget Petty n Bowser. Bowser last few weeks were superb before concussion. Spoke to him today, cherry ripe to go after the bye!
  11. I am not sure of the rule but if the protected zone is 5m behind man on the mark then it was the right call.
  12. 17 tackles inside F50 to 4 and awesome pressure all over the ground creating doubt in the pies and turnovers. That sort of effort will win plenty of matches. Kick straight and that was a 5-6 solid victory. Stoked with this win.
  13. Forever grateful I watched him play for a good 5 or 6 years nearly every game. Often got into the rooms after home games and sat next to him as a 10-11 year old in awe. He was poetry in motion. Did things nobody else could do and never will. Shed tears at his memorial at the G RIP Robbie
  14. Imagine If you were choosing a match for the time capsule between this and last Friday nights .....I think our game gets the nod. I've not seen a worse quarter.... EVER!
  15. Same! They used to always hand out flags, we loved it! Still have a beautiful red n blue old Sherrin that Cameron Clayton drilled into my hands. I dropped the mark but was a very quick crumber. Got signatures all over it in the rooms afterwards that are now very faded but has 3 Brownlow medallists and the great Robbie Flower!
  16. Agree we are mostly quiet compared to other fan bases but can get very loud occasionally. I doubt many saw this but there was a time in the 2nd QTR after about our 4th horrible F50 entry in a row that went straight to a Carlton defender and the crowd were restless and negative. As Carlton ran the ball out, Trac turned to the crowd and yelled " show some [censored] support" during play. I heard it from the 2nd level. At the next stoppage he was revving the crowd up lifting his arms repeatedly. Our support and lack thereof is so important to our team. Some of the regulars around me are so damn negative and at times disgraceful with abuse hurled at our players it's embarrassing.
  17. It was a hard watch Red and poor disposal is poor football particularly when not under much pressure. Carltons 2nd half pressure rating was 160 which is extremely low. As good as that record highlighted is, we scored only once every 8 of those F50 intercepts. The league average is one every 3. Our forward entries are awful and have been for 18 months. We need to sort this quickly, it just won't win games against good teams. I'm happy with the win and there were some good signs of form from several players but I walked away from The G completely underwhelmed. I did enjoy that we looked to switch play several times last night, something I haven't seen most this season.
  18. Can't remember a more boring, mistake ridden game in a long time. Crowd was flat as a tack for 50k. 3 more Brownlow votes for Trac. Other than that great signs from Judd and JVR, Salem slowly returning to form. Take the win and forget this game ever happened.
  19. Yeah I'm one of the few on here that think he has something to offer up forward IF he's body gives him a chance. He is not a Backman, is far too loose. He has pace and can jump I'm really hoping they can turn him into someone who can spoil the oppo rebounder. Good luck Joel
  20. From MFC website.....The pair, who will remain on the rookie list for the 2024 season, have impressed with their attitude and commitment during their first year in the red and blue.
  21. Will stay as rookies. Good luck to both lads hope to see them in the seniors next year!
  22. What am I missing here that these stats make no sense at all??
  23. Yesterday's loss was awful but these results have made it much easier to swallow, particularly Geelong losing to GWS at the cattery. Did anyone see Jeremy Camerons horrible flop for a free which resulted in a shot on goal which thankfully he missed!? He should cop a fine for staging.
