  1. i think condemned84 saying that Grimes has the poise and ability to be around the same mark as Gary Ablett is the funniest thing i've read for awhile
  2. I would like us to show improvement but most of all to beat a good team. A team that is entrenched in the top 8. In all honest when was the last time we beat a side in the top 8?
  3. You really love Dean Bailet 'rpfc.' There is no need to sign him for 2011 just look at Mick Malthouse and Rodney Eade. If the board assesses that Bailey is doing an adequate job next year then they will resign him. This is what I mean by using the term 'Dean Bailey Love' there are some people here who think this man is a doing a splendid job even though he has done nothing other then manufacure losses and played some youngsters
  4. Geeze some people really rate this kid and i can see why. However his only a young kid and calling him a potential captain can be a bit risky and uncalled for. Hopefully he can become a good player for the Melbourne Football Club and we dont trade him in the future
  5. i thought Brock was extremely impressive. It is clearly going to be a good decision for him as he will be playing finals next year and lets be totally honest if Carlton keep Fevola then they are so much closer to a premiership then Melbourne its not even funny.
  6. i dont think Carlton will be able to get a trade done, and he will stay
  7. I think Melbourne took tanking to a whole new level this year. Less rotations, put our backline into the foward line, played our best midfielders as permanent fowards. Against St Klda Jurrah was moved onto a wing then kicked two goals in a minute and was then dragged. Every one of our better players was rested at some stage. I mean other then the Richmond game, we didnt need to tank as we would have lost anyway. All tanking did was ensure we lost comfortable and there would be no nervous times in the stands wondering whether or not we wanted our side to win. I dont think we can chastise Carlton anymore unfortunately
  8. How times have changed Colin Sylvia use to be the whipping boy now its poor old Brock. Brock had a break out year in 2006 which everyone has acknowleged but has been injured a lot since then. Has broken his foot twice and the club this season was publicly admiting he'd had an interpreted pre season. This is why he was sooo slow. He was also playing injured for the majority of the season. At the beginning of the season after finishing runner up in our b 'n' f after only playing half the season everyone was advocating him as a potential captain. He had a disapointing 2009 but thats because he couldnt get his body right. Why would we trade him for pick 11? If we are lucky we will draft a player that will turn out better then Mclean and I'll be ecstatic. There will be a lot of pressure on us selecting a good player with pick 11 because I will guarntee that Mclean will have a tremendous season next year because he is a good footballer, something that this football club needs.
  9. Robertson kicked the most goals for Melbourne this year and he missed more then half the season. Surely he deserves to stay on the list instead of Miller. Why dont we ask Jack Watts how much he enjoyed playing on Dustin Fletcher. He would have hated it. Im not advocating Robbo to stay on our list for another decade im just saying surely in the scheme of things he deserves a one year contract. The guy has been an outstanding footballer for our club and would be able to teach Jurrah and Watts instead we have Miller teaching them how to drop crucial chestmarks and how to play a game and have zero influence
  10. 5 that has developed very well early under him (how can you claim he can't develop players yet admit that the young players are going well under him). How in the world do you figure that Jones has gone backwards?
  11. really rate ricky think his one of our better younger players. just a little unsure of what is his best postion
  12. newsflash '45hotgod16' the players you mentioned are all young players, or players that have recovered from injuries i.e Moloney. They havent even blossomed, just shown potential. Maybe im just grumpy watching my mates who support Geelong win another flag but honestly why is there so much positivity on demonland we suck. It's as if we are entering into a new dawn of success. The only teams we have beaten recently are [censored] like Richmond, or are an interstate team playing at the G. DB is basically copying the hawks and Clarkson managed to win 9 games in his second season, we won four. Believe it or not im trying to remain positive but im struggling, Dean Bailey even told Mclean were 4 to 6 years away from success. Bloody Matthew Knights has already got the dons to the finals. Also to finish my rant just because there a young player doesnt necessarily mean they are going to be a star, something which demonlanders seem to assume
  13. why is he still on a list. Its worst then bloody Paul Wheatly remaining on our list for so bloody long. The guy is a serious spud. Admitedly he works his butt off and I admire how hard he tries but he just goes missing, usually for the whole game. If he drops another bloody chest mark I swear there could be anarchy. Why would Melbourne keep him and not Robbo, and to say leadership is crap because if i was Watts or Jurrah i'd be looking up to our 3rd leading goal kicking of all time not some spud in which they are already twice as good as
  14. i cant see why everyone is potting Robbo. I believe he makes sense. How do you think Jurrah and Watts will feel now when they get the best defender each week? And the fact Miller and Newton remain on our list instead of Robbo just makes me sick.
  15. for one i would of kept robbo, he will still attract the best defender next year which will help our younger fowards develop. i admire the fact DB is playing young players and its good that they are getting experience but to be honest no one from melbourne has really steeped up since DB has come to the club except for Sylvia but thats because the penny finally dropped. Jones has gone backwards for one, same could be said about Brock. I was just making the point with 'love' that everyone on this site seems to pot the Daniher his era but im pretty sure he at least got the team to some positions were we could have possibly won the flag i.e 98'. FFS Mark Riley in his brief stint managed to get more out of the playing group then Bailey has. I for one hope that Bailey leads the club foward next year but I would personally love to see Viney becoming coach of Melbourne
  16. Am I the only person who is sceptical about Dean Bailey. He has a terrible, terrible coaching record and all he seems to do is want to plan for the future. Personally I don’t think his the right man. An obscure selection that no one had ever heard of, but would love to be proven wrong
  17. to be fair to be robbo the ball only got down there in the last quarter. very disappointing effort. why was i optimistic about 08
  18. u said he ducked his head consistantly. can u give me one example. i thought he didn't have his greatest game but his still in our top half a dozen players atm
