  2. Stats Id like to see: 1 succesful bombs into the square 2 where free kicks are won and lost
  3. afl.com.au says Adelaide 6 free kicks to 5
  4. Luke Beveridge is IMO the least effective coach in the AFL with Saints coach not far ahead. I think Bulldogs would be a much better club with even David Noble. And Bevo seems to get worse by the week. How he has survived after some of his crazy press conferences with his eyes darting comically left to right, looking for spies, is astounding.
  5. I hope Gus stays even if it means Luke goes.
  6. She wasnt his mother. He didnt know his sister was his mother.
  7. Rattan is outraged at the thought Hilly and Paddy did anything other than walk out once voices raised. He is either completely right or he believes fervently the CCTV is unavailable.
  8. It seems to me that in big games, a player often gets hurt against Geelong. May had a busted face but Hawkins has clipped many without sanction. "Just clumsy"... IIRC it happens in 1st or 2nd quarters as well. Most teams play fair nowadays and dont go looking for physical pressure. I think its the coach who creates the flavour on these things as opposed to direct instruction. But then I think the same about the Bulldogs and seeking Free kicks. We are lucky to have Goody. We have Good on our side. :)
  9. There couldnt be more than 2000 people at this match in Tassie. There seems no point having North play there now, if there ever was.
  10. Not wanting to start a seperate thread but looking for a spot to comment on the Koz...please bear with me. Sometimes you watch a player more than most others and you can get a bias going, one way or another. I have been wondering why in the forward line, many bomb it to the goal square, and Jake lever, whom Id say is a smart footballer, did it twice on Thursday. Once when Kozzie was open. Kozzie makes an option inside 50 very regularly (to my rose coloured glasses), but is almost always ignored. Toby looked for him Thursday and kicked it over his head and nearly out of bounds, Kozzie of course, did the rest with his superb balance. My point is that Kozzie would score a lot more if, as well as being a defensive forward, he was labelled a target. I think it is a mindset of the players about who to look for. I saw this as well with Jack Watts who was a smart forward but was left hungry too. And I mean bombing it to the square every [censored] ing time without thought?
  11. Having suffered concussion a couple of times playing, you do learn that it is easy to do your narna in the week afterwards. I wonder why Jake gets off without penalty?
  12. Without knowing specifics, Jake Melksham was a highly rated boxer as a junior. In my experience, boxers dont really prefer to use their words in a disagreement and do like to "take it outside". I dont know May orJake, but neither would avoid escalation when the boxer wants to butter up. Not saying thats what happened but Melksham is known for his boxing ability.
  13. Interestingly the umpire told everyone to cool it while he listened to instructions on his ear piece. This in itself brings out the conspiracy alarmist in me. i.e. "Free kick Bulldogs" just after they have had 3 throws from packs. I dont believe there is a valid reason why umpires need to have an earpiece. At all. Who is on the other end?
  14. Could easily be Pies or Tiges as well. They think they are close.
  15. Looks like some people arent watching the Grand Final often enough. Gus was enourmous.
  16. At our first loss, the winning team will be hailed as a hero. Meanwhile I load up as Dees odds for the flag briefly go out to $3-1
  17. I met Bucks very early in his career at CFC where I happened to have lunch irregularly. He was humble, inquisitive and had a genuine interest in what someone who didnt barrack for CFC thought of the place, what their impression was of CFC in general. I was happy to chat. I dont have a strong dislike of the Pies at all, although Id run from fights on the odd occasion after a Dees win at Vic Park and Id witnessed the spitting on players coming out of the runway. Anyway I have a respect for the guy since then. I have observed Eddie in the old days at the Chevron and I had also witnessed how Heretier carried on one match day while being a guest in the Lindsay Hassett room. And with having said that Ill take the advice of my grade 2 teacher, Miss Green (Michael Greens sister) 'If you cant say something nice about a person, dont say anything at all'. At all.
  18. Robbie made the game look like a dance. He looked like he was just stepping through it.Thats the difference.
  19. Excuse my ignorance, how can we see other clubs up to date figures of their memberships?
  20. Yesterday while still recovering from the dreaded Lurgy, I watched the game on Kayo. This is the 1st time I have heard all the commentators (barracking for the hawks, of course) say "Why would you even kick it to the same side of the ground as Gawn"? They all seriously agreed that the game plan should be "keep it away from Gawn". They werent kidding. I think Id heard something like this once before in regard to Anthony Koutoufedis. But that was long ago. Pretty high praise!
  21. At some point we need to say that Weed played a good game, or at least better than TMac. I havent seen it and hope I will accept the shock of the new when I see it and then I will believe it. I am biased. i honestly believe Weed will let us down big time in a game soon, either by not committing or by missing a crucial shot. Tmac thrives under pressure still, and has won us games in the past off his boot. I realise his halcyon days are behind but is Weed better yet, this year, when we need to be putting up our best team to win this years flag? I dont think so.
  22. Im surprised that Harmes hasnt been in the spotlight. Very tough but always misses a shot without looking for options, and not as thoughtful about his disposal as say, Nibbler. I wonder if Sparrow could take his spot allowing Dunstan a berth? Nothing against Harmesy but a lot of riches.
  23. Id rather watch Hawkins remove his mouthguard after being awarded a free kick in front of goal. Well nearly
  24. Ryder had a Hawks player run in his path as he was trying to apply pressure to Will Day. After that he only less than a second with Day running at him. He turned his body and bumped but without force. Day has some responsibility to gird himself as well. I cant see him being able to smother in this case. 2 weeks is too much.
  25. Any one know if car park is open?
