NON-MFC: Rd 01 2023
I want Geelong to win. Their collective injuries should tell later in the year. Collingwood even without Howe look good, and will be harder to stop.

So happy to see a post called GameDay. 🤠

Does Kade make the grade, or will it be Chandlermonium
I believe we have had a golden Pre-season but there are 4 weeks to go. I predict there may be small niggles over the next short period across 3 or 4 and any one puts him in the frame. That will mean Chandler gets another go. Im buying.

Pre-season Intensity
Bowey for Salem for sure. Jordan for Petracca, was the leg broken before both those finals? Yes for Sydney at least. Gawn for Majak Daw, who should have been encouraged to hang in there as he was monstering VFL. Watching the finals again, these small changes may have made a big difference, but not enough for a flag. Was Goody wrong in not playing our Flag winning VFL players? No doubt in my mind. In fact my personal jury is out on my support for him this year. Is it because I have memories of not seeing my name for the 1sts on the board late on a Thursday, when some named haven't attended training? Yes. Still, I see Goody differently now.

Training Ground?
Vafa ground Elsternwick park is under utilised. Umpires train there during the season and they host a game of the week for vafa. I have been saying for years we should look at it. Big ground. Near tram train and bus and plenty of parking. Near end of chapel street as well. The old Elsternwick bowls club next door ripe for a demons happy hour after a 4pm training. We will always have Memories of junction oval training in 1989 I guess

Trade and Free Agency rumours
Salem has had 2 good years. before that he had potential. He is now slow, but will he stay slow? Debatable. The Coaching group played him all year when there were obviously better choices. So was he injured? The coaches said he was ok to play, but Im sure now they will say "he said he was right to go". Very unfair to Salem whom would only do as asked. My point is that it is only unfair to put him up on the block if the coaching group sticks with he was good to go. The player tries his best but the unflinching coach picks the team. The coach I believe played a player all year when he should have been rested. But the motto of the year was play through the pain. How did that go for us? Goody needs to answer a few questions, in my book.

CASEY: PF vs Brisbane
Its a shame Bowey didnt play much more. So much better watching him today than Salem for the last 2 months.

TRAINING: Thursday 8th September 2022
Just to be clear, TMac and Lever didnt train at all? Or did they join late?

We found with Preuss it just isnt worth chasing a ruck that is not close to best 22 when all are available. If we are going to get a 24 year old ruck he must be a positive in conjunction with Max, not just as a stand by.

Farewell Toby Bedford
Im surprised that this keeps coming up. Bomber Thompson was never Bomba. Ken Sheldon the St Kilda coach was called BomBa because he looked exactly like Bomba the Jungle boy. Sheldon looked like the actor who played Boy, the adopted son of Tarzan in eight Tarzan movies, as well as his role as Bomba the Jungle Boy in a dozen B-Movies. They'd show these sometimes on Saturday afternoons. He was a big hit in the early 60's to kids and IRWC it was Lou Richards who coined it. But its not that long into the past for this to be mistaken so regularly.

2022 Injury List
McDonald is set to play VFL during the AFL's pre-finals bye, which could open the window for him to feature in the first week of senior finals. “As we sit here now, based on the way he (McDonald) is tracking, he’ll play next week,” Richardson confirmed. “We’re hopeful given the training he’s been doing, we’d be looking at him playing significant minutes next week.” There used to be rules about who can play finals in VFL if you hadnt played during Home and Away. Anyone know if this is still an issue for Tom?
