  1. The precedent has been set with both the Hawkins and the Curnow cases. They can now legitimately argue that the precedent has been set.
  2. Double standards .............. makes a mockery of what the AFL would have us believe is a fair, even-handed system.
  3. Either they both get rest for a week, or the AFL's double standards are (again) on show for all to see. Plain and simple!
  4. Agree 100%. Harmes eased up late in the tackle to ensure that the GC player's head didn't hit the ground. Perfectly executed tackle.
  5. Is an 11 goal win over a cellar dweller good enough? Nope! I want Viney to play 65% game-time tomorrow, get 20 effective possies, 2 goals and 8 tackles, and most importantly, to walk off unscathed. Now that would make mother happy!
  6. Clarrie for me, but our midfielders as a collective (including Hogan) have the potential to become 'household names' a la the great Brisbane midfield in the early 2000s (Voss, Black, Lappin, Power, etc)
  7. Second week in a row that I've woken up on gameday without a dose of pre-match nerves. The formula worked well last week, so I'll stick with it and say we'll win comfortably. More seriously, that's exactly what we must do if we have finals aspirations. Anything less and we are no more than pretenders. Just do it Dees!
  8. Good team on paper ........... to be confirmed at the Gabba!
  9. Related to Peter Tossol, I guess. ?
  10. I'd love to see PJ leave with a flag to his name. That way the revival that he has overseen would be complete. Just reward for his outstanding work,
  11. The most important figure at the MFC that I can recall in a long, long time.
  12. You owe me London , 'bub. ?
  13. Agree TPF39. Also, it's easier to manage on-field minutes (to say 65% game time) at VFL level, than it is to do the same in AFL without compromising team results.
  14. I agree it would be good to add some Porsche qualities, to complement the horse-power that we've already assembled in our engine room. For mine, I don't see anyone on our current list emerging to fill that role. Salem comes closest, but consistency and fitness have always held him back. No doubt the draft will offer up some possibilities, but it is 'hit and miss', especially having to wait until the second round in 2018, and in any event, draftees will take time to develop into the role. I'd therefore be looking to trade in an established B+ / A grader, but the price will be high. Gaff would be great, but is probably out of reach. Time for Jason and Josh to do their thing.
  15. IMO Clarrie chooses the right disposal option as well as, if not better than any current AFL 'coalface' player. Sure he chooses the wrong option occasionally, but what AFL player doesn't? All I would change right now if I could, would be to put an Andrew Gaff or Isaac Smith on his outside.
  16. 6. Oliver 5. Brayshaw 4. Hogan 3. Gawn 2. Hibberd 1. Lever Plenty unlucky including Jones, the Brothers Mac. and Lewis.
  17. Four points is four points I guess. We did what we had to do for a solid win, but we must learn to 'put the foot on the throat and keep it there' when we control large parts of games like we did today.
  18. Now we need to break them in the 3rd and go on with it in the 4th!
  19. The Saints have had a week of 'soul searching' and 'home truths' so I'd expect them to come out hard. Withstand their early flurry, get the game on our terms, and then let our superior talent dictate terms.
