PREGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
I’m new around here, and all I can do is take posts at face value. How else is one meant to interpret “like shooting fish in a barrel” other than a post designed only to get a rise out of others. Which is the clear definition of a “troll”. Clearly it’s a volatile time for all who love the footy club, and the reason I’m here posting is because times are tough as a supporter and I, like everyone else, need an outlet to make sense of it.

I think their putting their hand up and admitting to being a troll. Good to know there’s no point taking any of their posts seriously…

TRAINING: Monday 7th April 2025
Yeah, I’d be surprised to see Kolt straight back into the firsts. Actually, not surprised but definitely concerned.

Recruiting - where did it all go wrong
I agree with the view that our recruiting of mature players since the flag has been rubbish. Something I haven’t seen mentioned is the fact that we have the league’s worst facilities. A shed and a fairly scruffy oval in the city and a barely AFL standard facility out in the boonies. I’m sure it plays into players decision making, particularly if they are in demand and have some choice.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
I was referring to the GPS/tracker stats. I’m not making excuses for either the players or Berg btw. Obviously a lot needs to change.

Enjoy your night mate. Good on you for getting to the game.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
I’m pretty sure we outran GC last week. Not sure about North/Giants. I don’t think it’s fitness. It’s confusion, lack of system, and in the last quarters in particular, futility. The belief isn’t there. They’re essentially hoisting the white flag.

Time to go Goody?
Yeah, I’m not a fan but I agree.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
According to the AFL website: Goal Assists Geelong 10 (9 players) Melbourne 3 (Fritsch 2, Kozzy 1) So Geelong 10 assists in their 12 goals, Melbourne 3 in our 6. No teamwork, no ‘forward connection’ yet again. You can’t uncook cooked.

I agree with you on Lindsay. I don’t reckon a lot of the regulars realize that this can be a tough crowd though.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Bit harsh. Fairly innocuous comment. Seems you old-timers love to rip into new/infrequent posters over not much.

CASEY: Rd 03 vs Geelong VFL
Fair mark and goal. Only watched the last quarter but Culley looks a player - strong and composed.

Goalkicking
Agree 100%. The first club that treats set shot goal kicking with the attention to detail in technique, routine, and practice that it deserves will gain a huge advantage.

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Makes sense as we had two small defenders go out (Howes and Lindsay) and one come in (Windsor). Their smalls will be the worry. Will be good to see Kozzy and Windsor back and hopefully the start of Spargo getting a clean run at it for a while. We live in hope…

Goalkicking
Punching down. LOL. You’re obviously better at this comedy caper than me. He’s not a homeless person, he’s a professional footballer who’s a terrible kick for a goal. It’s okay to talk about it, even have a lighthearted joke about it.

Goalkicking
It’s a pretty obvious and very tame joke Joyce. If only Billings could kick a few more cheap shots… That tickle your funny bone?

Time to go Goody?
It’s been a long time since I’ve watched a Goody press conference, but his more egregious examples do tend to pop up elsewhere - usually in the context of ‘wtf?’.
