They may have done, but if they did, it hasn’t seemed to have served them particularly well.
It’s something that I find somewhat bewildering, that clubs don’t seem to engage in properly targeted, structured, and individualised goal kicking practice.
Would be like a professional golfer practicing their putting by just slapping a couple of balls around (Mr. Humphries!) the putting green for five minutes. Not ideal.
14 marks inside 50 for 11 goals is pretty wild.
Kicking for goal excepted, a decent second half. Great to have Clarry and Trac back. Liked Sparrow’s game too - hopefully he puts it together this year.
I definitely think for new fans, whether they are young kids growing up with footy or adults new to the game for whatever reason; logos, colours, jumpers are all pretty influential.
If anyone has ever watched a “New to AFL” YouTube video, it’s pretty much the first criteria potential support is based on.
I find that bottom one a bit camp tbh. Which isn’t to say I don’t like it, just that I think it belongs in the past.
I’m very much for our current logo for official/corporate type stuff (but also available on some merchandise) and the flaming demon as a mascot type logo. I think both could be used very effectively.
I have absolutely zero confidence the AFL will do anything close to using some common sense. Andrew Dillon and Laura Kane are so uniquely awful that it boggles the mind. Pair of absolute nincompoops.
