2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Everyone is talking about this year's draft depth and quality, whilst there isn't anyone as exciting or standout as Langford, the top bunch still have good AFL traits and talent. At the end of the day, we will still get the 7th & 8th best kid in the system (outside academies of course) Who knows how the teams ahead of us will pick, with all the back to back picks, teams may go for needs over best available and we may get someone higher on our list. Anyway, as always at this time of year. In Taylor we trust!!

Steven May
Was clearly playing through an injury in the back half of the year. If he gets it right, still some good footy in him left. All the drama about character is way overblown in my opinion

Farewell Christian Petracca
The future 1st is a great addition to the haul. We surely have to be happy with that.
-
Bailey Humphrey
Let's take pick 7, 8 this year and get Humphrey next year. Rebuild done

Bailey Humphrey
I personally think the better comparison would be tom Mitchell and Jaeger O'Meara

And if we dont pull it off, be happy the club is being aggressive and wont die wondering. People can rightly criticise Lamb and the club for many things, but I personally am happy with the approach so far this off season. Better to rip off the bandaid now and set ourselves up (by extracting as best deals we can possibly get) than see these two play out their contracts at melbourne and achieve nothing.

Farewell Christian Petracca
Jenkins sucksssss. Has no clue, I doubt he even watches half the games. Certainly hasn't watched Melbourne the way you hear him talk about us
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Makes me sick to say but he would complement Nick daicos very well. Instant upgrade on Long and Mitchell for the pies 🤢
-
Farewell Judd McVee
I think we should threaten to walk him to PSD. From the interviews, it sounds like Lamb and co are veru=y disappointed, we don't owe Judd anything. Judd wants to go home, well offer up a good pick or he can go to your rival for nothing

Farewell Christian Petracca
Think we will be able to save face, by publicly saying that King was always clear that it is a fresh start and would love to be apart of it. Whether that is good for the locked room is another question Lamb also facilitate the trades to be able to draft Lindsay, so you should be congratulating him

The List Manager Tim Lamb
We are right to be critical of the long term deals but for all 3 of them (gus, clarry and trac) they have ended up as worse case scenarios. Who could have predicted that. Gus - retired, Oliver - off the rails, trac - injured and out of love with club. There's an alternate universe where maynard doesnt lay out gus and they are all celebrating a second flag together. And we would say tim lamb is the man who put together a dynasty

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
Even when we had Ben brown, one of the best lead up forwards going around, we still kicked it long on his head!!! Insane game plan

2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen
Can't believe people are writing this kid off. Low on confidence in a team struggling to connect mid-forward, whilst taking the best defender each week. Reckon a fresh start under new coach and game plan will be just what the doctor ordered.

2025 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
A lot has been said about this year's quality/compromised draft. However, if we get a few high draft picks I'll always back in Jason Taylor and co.

Bailey Humphrey
As long as we have a red hot crack to turn his head. Then Ill be happy. Love that King got a meeting in before going home. Plenty to discuss over the family dinner table this week Gold coast will play hard ball but I feel like we have positioned ourselves pretty well with trac, in that we have been upfront that it will take a very generous deal to get him. they won't want to let humphrey go but if he says he wants to go it may force their hand. Lots to play out over the next week

Assistant Coaches in 2026
article says he was a high school teacher. Lots of successful coaches have come from a teaching background. David parkin, Clarkson, fagan, and thats just off the top of my head. It might have been Clarkson that has refered to the skills from teaching transfering very well into footy. Instructing and leading young men, making relationships and delivering clear messages. Sounds like a good skillset for a developement coach 👍

Wade Derksen
Just shows how desperate we are for some recruiting news. I still dont understand why they didnt trade him on last year. Perhaps its more of a cap space thing, he would be on minimum chips

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Do we go with an old head with previous success? or do we go with unproven assistant coach. such a difficult call Either way, will be a breath of fresh air and there certainly a case a new coach could unlock the potential and re-energise the playing group. I am still of the belief we have a quality list there, just not been maximised My choice, Steven King from Geelong

Time to go Goody?
I actually liked Goodwins press conference today. I acknowledge we are doing terrible, and his time is probably at an end. But I am expecting us to respond, we are playing way below ourselves at the moment. (mind you i have been saying this the past 3 weeks 😅) One win could get the monkey off the back, free the shackles and build a bit of confidence.

We will win
I'm with you! Feel like our senior players will lift and kozzy will bring a spark that we have been missing A lot of pride in this group, will come out with a lot to prove. Although I was thinking that last week before the suns game 😅

Melbourne Fans Mindset
Brisbane were terrible and hawks were on the way for a wooden spoon
-
The List Manager Tim Lamb
I think these long contracts have hamstrung our ability to lure in a key forward. Surely we could have gone after someone the past 3 years????

Time to go Goody?
Totally agree mate. North will be much improved this year we wont be the only scalp they take. They were on the cusp of breaking through last year, nearly did us and collingwood. Perhaps by midyear this loss may have a different perspective As for gameplan. We are trying to move the ball faster and quicker on turnover with handball and quick ball movement. if they are well set in defense, we move into a slower mode and chip the ball around to work our way through the zone. We showed in both games and preseason that when we get this right, we can play well. Unfortunately it will be a fine balance and yesterday North were hungrier To anyone that says Goodwin hasn't adapted or changed isn't paying attention. This is very differnt to 2022/2023 forward territory game As for Gawny, he was trying to humanise max and defend his performance, but unfortunately he opened up a can of worms which is what everyone is going to focus on this week. People said fagan couldnt coach after rd 5 last year remember?

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
You could see it in the behind the goals vision as windsor broke those two tackles. He drifted off his man and got the seperation for windsors beauty of a kick. I think he will stick some marks, he plucks some in the VFL I think he will prove to be a great foil for van rooyen. JVR the one on one beast, and jeffo the more leading and crafty type forward. Thinking about it now a JVR, Jefferson and Turner forward line could be something special in a few years time, looking forward to hopefully seeing them combine this weekend. All have some different attributes that might compliment each other, only time will tell
