  1. For a 192cm young man, he certainly moves well. Placed 3rd in the agility test in the combine Definitely has the movement and defensive ability to play on both shorter and taller players He should make for an exciting tool that Kingy can use in defence, while also providing offence with his rebounding ability
  2. Hoping to make it to the game, but I haven't attended a game at Ikon before. What's the parking situation like? Or would it be better to PT in?

Just something I have noticed from watching U18s compared to VFL If I were to give a reason, I would probably say it boils down to a couple of things; Players kick the ball longer, so there is both more space between forwards/defenders and midfielders, as well as it taking more time to get from contest to contest U18 players typically struggle to extract the ball from stoppage cleanly, so repeat stoppages build up the numbers around the ball Men's league is obviously a higher level of football, with aspiring AFL coaches being head coaches, so the player movement is more deliberate, so there tends to be less ball hunting/watching And probably a smaller reason, but sometimes U18 games are played on much smaller grounds (More relevant for rep highlights, not National Carnival)

I actually find his non-U18 SANFL highlights much more impressive, especially as it's against grown men. I think for some prospects, they play better in the Men's league because the U18s lack the space for them to go to work
  5. If we are keen, I'd trade Pick 8 for West Coast's Pick 13 and a future 2nd round pick
  6. If that ends up being the trade, boy am I excited for the GC Death Ride Thread May it be as successful as the Freo one
  7. Mentioned by an account that joined up 3 weeks ago, so very happy to hear it from the Ghosty themselves
  8. No matter how this ends up, I've absolutely loved the intel from DF And if BH ends up at the Dees, I reckon a Demonland HoF should be in order, with DF an inaugural member
  9. I actually hope the club keeps this pick as it's the first pick in the second round, which is very valuable on draft night Only have to cast your eyes back to last year, where North Melbourne traded its future first to Richmond for the same pick. Now Richmond has picks 3 and 4 in this year's draft, so hopefully a club that's similarly down the bottom likes someone who's still on the board come draft night and does the same thing
  10. Considering that GC don't need their picks, just the points that they hold If we aren't getting any players back, I could see a world where they pay overs on Trac to get him across. We could package up later picks with points (a couple of 2nd round picks from both Spargo and McVee) for them to trade us 3 first round picks. As far as I understand, GC already have enough points to match their academy players, so if we traded them a decent amount of points back, then they are on the way to getting Trac and their academy players. Would look something like this: St Kilda: Pick 7 <-> GC: Sam Flanders Freo: Pick 30 & Pick 39 <-> Melb: Judd McVee Spargo Compensation: Pick 38 Melb: Trac, Pick 24, Pick 30, Pick 38, Pick 39 <-> GC: Pick 6, Pick 7, Pick 13 GC Points at start of trade period: 4,139 GC points after Trade: 3024 GC can then get more points through Budarick, Fiorini, and Rosas. Only really need a couple of 2nd round picks to have enough for bids at Pick 2 and 3.
  11. Just watched the 7News segment My take on this after watching this all unfold today (Probably should have been doing uni work haha), is that King told Clarry that he needs to adapt to his game style, and if he doesn't, then he's not guaranteed a spot in the team. Clarry has clearly not taken this well, and it's been reported that he stormed out of the meeting. I believe the club probably has a similar stance to Trac; they're happy for him to go if they get something back, which is why it's been reported that they are happy to pay some of his salary. The club probably knows there isn't a market if he stays on his current contract.
  12. This provides new context for Clarry's Insta story earlier Seems now he was having a go at Mitch, not joking around with him I wonder if this is because the story has a bit of mayo on it, and he's fine with the role change, or the story is bang on about him getting heated at the meeting with King Definitely something off about the whole situation
  13. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1908055/melbourne-meets-with-oliver Really a whole lot of nothing but at least there is some statement
  14. Yes, we don't have Nick Daicos, but I would argue that our young talent is a hell of a lot more promising than Collingwood's in 2022 (Bar Daicos) We also have a player in Harvey Langford who could definitely be joining Nick in the top 5 players in the comp for the next 10 years
  15. This situation definitely has some similarities to both the Mitchel Hawthorn takeover and the McRae Collingwood takeover. Both clubs had: long-running coaches who moved/were moved along, with a new first-time coach coming in. had old, outdated game plans that frustrated their fans Recent success with their current list Then, when the new coach comes in: High-paid players were moved out (Collingwood: Grundy and Trelor, Hawthorn: Omera and Mitchell) Although saying this, I believe Trac and Clarry are a different level of player, even if their past two years have been down A promise of a fast, modern game plan was made Obviously, there are many differences in our situation, but I'm personally quite bullish on what this could bring about Clarry has been my favourite player since that GWS Debut. So seeing him in another team's colours won't feel right But I very much could see us playing some high-end footy in the back end of next year, with the first half being an adjustment period for the new game plan
  16. King has clearly been watching Casey all year, and he knows we have Lachie Neale 2.0 just waiting in the wings
  17. Absolute genius move from Guerra to set up a fake meeting with Clarry to find out who's leaking info to the media I fully expect an interview with Guerra, King, and Clarry in the next hour, saying he's pumped for a new season under King. (I'm not trying to cope, I don't know what you're talking about)
  18. Really like Kolt's work in traffic, doesn't just throw the ball on the boot
  19. I've seen some of the media personnel try to paint a picture on our salary cap, with the figures for all our players constantly changing. For example, in this article it states that "right now, Clayton Oliver’s on $1.7m through to 2030, Christian Petracca really similar." https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-trade-news-rumours-2025-melbourne-demons-offer-kysaiah-pickett-sevenyear-contract-extension-ross-lyon-comments-on-nasiah-wanganeenmilera-future-latest-news/news-story/25d2f4f23776b176f533875d820806f3 While the articles when both of these players signed are completely different, with them both estimating that they signed for $1m a year or less. Clarry: https://www.afl.com.au/news/789697/demon-for-life-clayton-oliver-signs-massive-contract-extension Trac: https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-news-2021-christian-petracca-contract-melbourne-free-agent-new-deal-net-worth-how-much-money/news-story/916d148703bf5e714f4db9911e2666aa Really goes to show how the media has no idea how much the players are being paid and how the contracts are structured; they're just pulling numbers out of thin air.
  20. I reckon the FD want to try him up forward but think he can move into defence. Seems to have a very similar athletic profile to Steven May like others have said, at pick 68 you’re always going to take someone speculative, so in JT we trust.
  21. Dan Gorringe had Dylan Alexander on his podcast earlier today (I believe that some of his phantom drafts have been posted on this thread. The bloke seems very knowledgeable in terms of draft prospects.) He has us taking Jagga Smith with our first pick, and Harvey Langford sliding to our second pick (because of his lack of pace). Highly doubt this happens, but it would be almost the perfect result.
