  1. Kolt is an intriguing one to me also and probably one I'm following a lot more closely than any other recent draftee, I think because we gave up a bit to trade up and nothing about his skill set screams out to me. But I can see something. There's a doggedness about him that's just waiting for his body to catch up. It won't be through lack of trying or passion that he doesn't cement a spot in the 22
  2. Prime for us at 9. Fills a need and at worst is a running back type at best another damaging mid, would be like having a spare Rivers. Want.
  3. They can get a Smilie/Reid/Trainor/Armstrong possibly Tauru combo for 7&8. They need that. I'd be happy with those two picks in the hand if I was them.
  4. If we get to 9, and there's 4 blokes on the board we'd be happy with, then yeah we get 26 for free. If not, we just use 9. That's the logical play at least..
  5. I'm getting the sense no one's really going to want to trade down for North's 2 - and they won't be able to beat our 5 anyway, so North might have to not be "greedy" and just use a bit of our philosophy, and pony up 2 for your need and call it a day.
  6. He's a good analyst, he had a video of Windsor in his draft year and pretty much nailed his assessment of him.
  7. Pressure's on though, because if you do then they BOTH have to be locks in the 22 otherwise you've passed on a potential star
  8. Recently McVee, JVR, Tholstrup, Rivers, Jackson even Taj Woewodin - we certainly aren't afraid to draft from Western Australia so it wouldn't be a surprise
  9. I feel like the circled are out only real suitable trade partners seeing how the perceived value adds up. Pick 5 for Rich 10&11 Pick 9 for GWS 15&16, or WC 12&26 (of they want Allen) Or some similar combo. Of course the opposite is true for them - do they want to reduce their picks in an even draft?
  10. If Travaglia and Lindsay still there @ 9, who you taking?
  11. Apologies if already posted - "True Footy" channel on YouTube did a mock draft and his reasoning for our picks are pretty sound; Reasons for our picks, essentially we buck the trend somewhat and appear to "reach" - not that we're reaching but if a mid is expected to go at our pick then we'll go Tauru as the "more speculative". Also points out how we like to recruit from WA and Bo Allen is a good fit for that pick.. Edit - note he has Tiges and North doing a pick swap of North's pick 2 for Tiges 11&12
  12. That's how you end up with Watts and McCartin. Best available is the responsible thing to do with the draft assets you have.
  13. Nothing other than the fact that (in my non-expert opinion), they look like they'll make it as AFL footballers who will slot right into our current team. I also do like Tauru but get the sense while we've got Lever, a Travalia/Lindsay type player would be more dynamic to our current setup. Also don't rate Armstrong, which is probably unfair, but he's incredibly underwhelming to me.
  14. If we can get Lalor/Smith, Travaglia/Lindsay double I'd go nuts
  15. Bloody oath. Essendon's telegraphed their intention on Kako so we really should bid @ #5 for the lols
  16. Someone wake me up from this nightmare
  17. I rate him, the comment was more around we need more than just those two.
  18. We're nuts if we don't get two legit mids this draft, or at least a genuine mid and someone who can progress to one. Slim pickings when the next batch is headlined by Sparrow and Rivers.
  19. What are your thoughts on Travaglia, do you see shades of Rivers in his highlights package?
  20. I hope not, that was a pretty uninspiring highlights package. Drops more than he marks, doesn't really crash a pack and struggles from 50. Jefferson vibes hard. Can we just play it safe with two blue chip mids please.
  21. I would hope we'd be looking at that. If we see minimal drop off between 5 and 9 we will essentially be getting pick 11 for free. Only problem is that that might be the Tiges thinking also. Would love to add 3 more kids to the list. 2 mids and a KPP
  22. Would an offer of pick #5 for Richmond's pick #10 & #11 be a thing that could happen?
  23. I love him. Looks like a classic J.T special! Good linking play, looks to have some pace - he's a ball hunter, doest stop running, can easily see him progressing to a midfield role. Big yes from me if he makes it to 9
  24. Not really. We wanted pick 9 because we have a particular target in mind and our later picks were the price. There was nothing to negotiate - they needed draft points and we wanted a high end draft pick. Neither party had wiggle room. This year's second and a future first was the crux of the deal and the other pics might have been the cost of doing business, but if pick 9 ends up being a gun then that's all that matters.
  25. I don't understand why A) if Houston was happy staying if a fair deal wasn't reached they went ahead with this deal, and B) If he was happy going to any club then why all of a sudden did it turn into just Carlton or Collingwood when North had more trade currency. Houston full of it or something else happen behind the scenes?
