Great activation initiative going forward.

I'm starting to feel the same. I skipped half an hour of a work event last year to sit in a toilet stall and find out if Adelaide took Draper or Langford. (My boss actually sent out a colleague to find out if I had food poisoning.) Probably not quite the same this year - and no Wednesday night work function to drag me away from the draft - but "will Taylor fall to us" has a vageuly similar feel.

I do too. But would we still take Nairn as a matter of priority. Or would we take the best player to fall to 7 and then hope GWS leaves Nairn alone?

Oof. Geeze. That would be interesting. I wonder what we'd do in that case.

Enormous relief. I think, though, unlike the men, there were numerous completely legit excuses for the women. We're very young. A few of our oldies are right at the very end. We had a soft draw and the opportunity to see how we compared with only one serious contender during the season. We found ourselves on the 'wrong' side of the finals draw. We had injuries to three of our five or six most important players. The umpiring was genuinely appalling and extremely one sided. Despite all of that we won. Astonishing effort.

Great summary. My feeling is they're extremely well drilled and play brilliant, relentless team footy, but can be sloppy. They give you a chance if you're able to go with them. It's just that nobody can go with them at the moment.

Is there a chance Essendon go Schubert out of pure desperation? They have Caddy. That's it. Jones can't get on the park and Wright seems to be done. Probably wishful. They can always take him with that Carlton pick.

The only thing bigger than that Hawthorn banner is their cheer squad's sense of self importance.

Definitely. And it's hard to be too sulky about it when we got Lever, but three years is just paltry.

I remember looking closely at that draft fairly early on and thinking we were a huge chance to get Noah Anderson. Then Gold Coast suddenly got a freebie from the AFL. That went away, but there was another Victorian who was a beautiful kick of the footy. It was never going to happen, though; Taylor was in love with Luke Jackson.

Good stuff. Great to see Jared Rivers back at the club.
