  1. Why bother trading him then? It'd be pick 45+. We would be much better of believing that Salem can find consistent fitness, and with that, find form. He should also be put back into defense too. We tried as a midfielder to replace Braysahw, it looked OK but then he got hurt, and flung around positions, then hurt again. Send him back and put McVee into the midfield.
  2. Anyone notice McVee seemed to be on the ball in the fourth quarter? Wonder if there is a trial run coming for the end of the season, and audition for 2025...
  3. I've said it here before, if 1 game in the AFL as detrimental impact on his confidence and development then he'll never make it at all. If anything the exposure should have a positive impact, even if he struggles. It'll give him a real understanding of the requirements of AFL footy, which he can then take into the pre-season to get himself in a position to play regularly in 2025.
  4. Play Jefferson and K Brown, that's all I really want. We all need to prepare for a blast from the media because it will be another very small crowd.
  5. I've never wanted Goodwin sacked, until tonight. Feels like if we don't, and we fall further behind, we'll be left wondering why we didn't change earlier... and he's end up getting the flick anyway. Hmm. There's still hope for the future. Geelong are a team we can look at, they found a way through with an old list. Collingwood too. We can do it next year, it's just whether we have the guts to really make some changes.
  6. Sparrow is better than Billings, and Tholstrup has more potential than Laurie. Seems that simple to me. Agree it was the best game we've seen from Laurie but it still wasn't a good game.
  7. How does ANB make the list and not Merrett? Richmond have 2 on the list and both look like they'll head back to WA next season... tough times coming for them.
  8. More incredible drafting from Jason Taylor. One of only three 2023 draftees to have played every game so far. The best debut season i've seen for an MFC player since Clayton Oliver. The first season is tough for first years. They're young and come to the club a month after preseason training has started. Despite this he seems to have amazing fitness, averaging 82% TOG in his last seven games. It's a shame, but if he takes the rest of the season to get the foot right and freshen up, He'll ideally be in perfect nick to start day 1 of the 2025 preseason. Imagine if he could get up to 85-90% TOG in season 2, him alongside Langdon gives us incredible weapons on the wings.
  9. Always has been, was never 'season' nor with weeks attached.
  10. Oh my god Billings. Goodwin, please never consider what he does in the VFL, it's meaningless
  11. Sub Billings off for Turner
  12. If we get this Oliver back next year, and Trac at full health, we're back in business. Time to get Turner on IMO.
  13. Ffs roo you gotta kick thoseeeee
  14. Giving up too many easy ones
  15. Yep. I'm not a fan but hasn't really put a foot wrong tonight. Offering more than Sparrow has been lately. Nervous we'll have lost this lead by half time. Wish there was rain about!
  16. Brilliant tackle pressure tonight
  17. I don't care that he kicked a goal, Petty really sucks.
  18. Petty running around with bricks for shoes. Could hardly get any pace up chasing an open ball. Would've been a goal if Turner was playing.
  19. Turner as the sub? Go back to hospital Goody!!
  20. On the contrary, it seems like he would fit right in with the AFL team...
  21. Remember the "He'll just want to go back to WA" panic when we drafted him? I do.
  22. On form he absolutely deserves to be dropped. His numbers are all down by the eyeball test is even worse, just has no impact on games. Unfortunately the cupboard is bare and the inclusions are uninspiring. Would've much prefered to see Brown than Laurie.
  23. I've listened to plenty of interviews with AFL players who have spoken about the importance of a good pre-season. Just look at 2019, we stunk and the club regularly spoke about the challenges we had with so many players going into surgery at the end of the year. During the season you are battered and bruised from playing, most efforts during the week are for recovery, not gaining fitness.
