You know what quotation marks are used for, right? I'm pretty sure that you do, and that along with some others on here you're now being deliberately disingenuous to push a political agenda, or at least willfully ignorant by dismissing the many posts which highlight the context of her comment in full and what can be genuinely attributable to Roffey. Whately: "Does he (Petracca) have a preference to be elsewhere?" Roffey: "I haven't spoken directly to him about that". (own italics).

Brad Green was captain in Gawn's first year, and is now president. The tweet isn't hilarious or cheeky and doesn't mean anything about our club or recent affairs. It was just a stats question.

Was happy enough to be involved this year. Even happier to be left out of it 2025.

The people who actually know me as a person on this board will know that I don't mean to be cruel, and wouldn't take the option to say this in public lightly: it may be time to consult a doctor, if not already done.

I have previously suggested on here that the MFC should co-ordinate with other clubs to lobby the AFL on providing some form of draft-points compensation equivalent to those which gained the most prior to the sudden abortion of NGA selections before pick 20 and then 40. Bulldogs points benefit then subtract Collingwood and so on. In the name of equalisation. That concept has now become a lot more complicated, with the NGA restrictions recently overturned. I think the AFL has also since rejigged its points formula. I accept the sliding doors nature of what has eventuated, yet it's pretty frustrating to read that Andrew could now attract a $12 million offer, which should surely land the Suns two first round picks if it occurs. After we of course spent the money on his early development. Demonland hive-mind: what would be an appropriate measure to readdress this imbalance? I believe that we can collectively come up with a new formula and then pressure the club to put it to the AFL, publicly, as a statement that we mean business and will no longer be pushed around.

Also time for a microdose WW. Don't let yourself get so wound up by John Ralph etc. and the media in general. We go into next year with possibly two of the league's top half a dozen midfielders. If we can get them fit and somewhere near their best then we'll be in for a shot at the flag. Some other things will also have to align of course. If not, the season will be another fizzer, and we can start looking at a rebuild and what path we take, be it via top-ups or a longer-term approach. The rest right now is basically fugazi, and nothing to lose sleep over for the next six months. .

Lol though that we're discussing potential 'scally-wags' at the club. Long live the MFC.

Adam? This is not your language. Edit: guessing it's an error open to misinterpretation.

What's the vibe like in Patpong tonight? Any trade 'surprises' on the cards? 😀

Democracy wins. Welcome back to the Melbourne Football Club Darren Burgess.

Dammit. Back to play for the play for the Crocs in Darwin to be closer to family. The MFC needs to add a career-long no-bonk clause into our future contracts. Also, congrats Steven.

Was clearly responsible for Fitzroy's banishment. Sack him now before the MFC goes out of business.

You guys should get a thread together. I'll subscribe.

Of course other clubs are interested. They want to make up for picking every other player besides Rivers between #20 and #30 in the 2019 draft.

I'm in the pay him anything camp. He can be our forward-line coach as well if he wants. Will buy us another flag.

I though we had a no DH policy?

I say we stack our team with mediocre players from the NT now and then fleece the new club when it's granted a license and draft-pick bounty and all these kids want to go home.
-
Is the Big Brother set on the Gold Coast currently being used? We should invest in that as a place our players can go to recuperate when injured.

I had to explain to my non-ESL partner just yesterday what the difference was between the gnashing and grinding of teeth. She seemed to get it.

You have to admit that "Robbie D’Orazio and Paul Connors can publicly explain their involvement in the Petracca saga if they so wish" is a pretty funny line though.

I tried to lobby for the nickname 'Ace' upon Trac's drafting - as in Ace Ventura, pet-tracker. It didn't take then, but I think could find new life now as both a statement of admiration and derision. "Nice shot Ace", works equally when he kicks or misses goals with his wild right-foot.

I agree. But a microdose may be beneficial before your next surgery.

I'm in. He can take over from Melksham in being our mandatory football club Jake. Apologies to Lever and Bowey, but you don't fit the profile, and Van Rooyen is disqualified for the ob part. Also, we can nickname him Bell, not in a reference to ends but as a tribute to the third-best character on the the award-winning television series the Wire. Petracca can be Avon.

As proven credit card junkies unfussed by high interest rates, I'd imagine it's closer to a certainty than a chance, if we can, especially considering the introduction of future future trading next year. I'm also guessing we rate ourselves to finish much higher next year, and will be hoping another club will gamble on a longer-term slip. That said, it's not likely going to be much to get too excited about. Probably a future first and the ANB return to push into around 19 or 20, if we're lucky. Then we'll do our best to get another pick in the mid-to-late 20s at a guess, through packaging or an unexpected departure. Something like a replica of the 2019 draft, but with a focus on mids.

Poor kid, driving over 3,500 kilometers only to discover the NT doesn't have a team yet. That's like a whole year of his MFC contract just to pay off the petrol.
