  1. Saw Matthews get ko’d a couple of times but no where near enough.
  2. Pretty sure Danny might’ve been a choir boy🤔 Or maybe not?
  3. Don’t think TC is anything except break glass in emergency stopgap. Pity Grundy didn’t work out. Interesting this weekend that Madden (GWS), O’Keefe (CAR), and maybe Steene (COL) having debuts. Verrall usually beats these guys convincingly. If we do not try the younger players when they could be ready, we will be left same as last year when Max was injured – TC might do a hamstring again, JVR/Petty will be left to get smashed in the clearances. We don’t need to bring in a Brownlow medallist, just someone who can play their role so that JVR/Petty/AJ/some other poor bastard doesn’t need to get sacrificed, and the team balance is maintained. While we are here, Jeffo should’ve been tried out last year. IMO he could be a similar but better player than Morris (BRI). Morris’ slight frame did not hurt him last year. Players who know how to find space in the forward line do not need to be built like brick [censored] houses. And Sesto…
  4. AFL at the elite level has evolved into something different and separate from the U 18 version. Elite key forwards are drafted as they can win 1-1 contests, which rarely happen at the elite level. Instead, they need to be able to compete against at least 2. Therefore, they need to be bigger, or a different type of player. Of course it’s due to the defensive structures all teams employ, but we need to get smarter when trying to score. Other teams are coming up with better tactics to separate the defence – Collingwood, Brisbane, Geelong, Gold Coast. Everyone else seems to be doing versions of these, or banging their head against the wall in the time honoured fashion.
  5. Surely they could’ve saved it for the port game?
  6. Looks like it might be a bit wet. But the surface is good, like all the ovals these days. It should be a good test for Casey. I still think that they can win by 10+ goals against pretty much anyone if they don’t turn the bloody thing over. So keep watch for overuse of handball in the rain.
  7. IKR? It sounds unconscionable, but once the deed was done, I was sort of hoping W – M was going to be off for the whole game. Now it feels like he’s been suspended without the team having any benefit. Probably wouldn’t have saved us though. Would much rather AJ have played like a saint until KB. Maybe not quite in those words, but certainly saved up any vitriol, or malicious intent for number 4 this week. Is there a return fixture?
  8. Yes, the media loves a hanging judge. I was hoping it was going to be thrown out along with Meek’s spoil on Lipinski, but it was a bridge too far.
  9. I think the main problem last time he was in the As was a broken hand??
  10. Not going to blame the ground. We can kick plenty of points on other grounds as well. They just invited pressure by treating the shots as easy early on. Something I will point out though, is that Trac was never given any prior opportunity at any stage today. He was held before he had the ball. He was held while he was trying to get the ball. If the ball was held to him – bad luck! This contrasted with times that Wanganeen-Milera was caught with the ball. Not sure what the difference was?
  11. Just as well, Eagles aren’t playing Brisbane. Exactly what colour are they tonight?
  12. Bloody Ross Lyon Deciding to tag our taggers who weren’t really tagging. And then running off our players that go forward from the Centre, without paying much attention to their midfielders. And then just kicking it to each other in our forward line without kicking it to us up forward. Bloody tactics!
  13. So Turner might be a forward after all? Or not
  14. I can’t wait till the end. So, who was it?
  15. Still probably a lot more wins there than quite a few teams – pies, dons, Hawks…
  16. Disposal efficiency surprised me there. Still don’t quite believe it. Looked more like a blunt force instrument rather than a scythe.
  17. He seems to be getting unbalanced before he goes for the ball. Sometimes it’s the opposition just pushing on one side. Verrall is also having the same problem. They are both misjudging slightly and getting stuck under the ball too much. Could be as simple as playing less with their phones/screens?
  18. That would be hilarious! Hopefully, Hardwick can find innovative and interesting ways of losing just enough matches. I’d throw a party!!🍸🥂🍻🎉🥳
  19. Hopefully, our set up around the ball will negate the runners that they hold at the back of the pack. Our game seems to be getting in better nick so hopefully we can knock them off.
  20. That last quarter was what we should be doing more often. That’s what happens when we don’t turn it over all the time. 11.2–0.2 last quarter, not bad.
  21. Meek was screwed over then. Complete and utter [censored].
  22. I would like to see those kicks measured out.
  23. Newcomb with a pas de deux ?
