  1. I don't blame him for wanting to see the year unfold, and if we win 3 or 4 in the first half and stay competitive, James seems from an outsiders point of view, like a person who would ride it out at Melbourne FC.

However, haven't we learnt anything from TS, JR, BM etc.

We can waste a whole year talking about speculation and 'rumours', but in the end, only a select few close to James would know what he wants to do.

Unless you are currently in a relationship with him, or a blood relative, your 'information from a good source' means nothing.

  3. James Frawley - I still believe, this guy is the perfect and best FB for todays game. He is quick, strong, big tank and can rebound extremely well. Matthew Scarlett would have struggled being in the melbourne team in the last 7 years, with record opp in50s against him. Once the ball spends more time out of our backline, I believe Frawley will rarely get beaten, and most times will be extremely damaging on the rebound.

Dom Tyson - Has everything to become an A grader. Needs a good run with his body, but could become the mid star we lost when Scott Thompson moved back home.

Jeremy Howe - One of the hardest forwards to match up on. Fit, quick, can crumb and has a vertical leap like no other. Has found it tough when other defenders have been able to block his run, however once we have a fit forward line, with Clark/Hogan/Dawes/Fitz being the focus, howe can play his floating roll well and be able to get a better run at the packs. Big 2014 from JH.

  4. FB: Garland, Frawley, Terlich

    HB: Grimes, McDonald, Vince

    C: Cross, Michie, Viney

    HF: Watts, Dawes, Evans

    FF: Hogan, Clark, Byrnes

    FOLL: Jamar, Tyson, N. Jones

    INT: Howe, Toumpas, Trengove

    SUB: Blease

    And out at Casey:

    FB: Dunn, Matthew Sully*, Clisby

    HB: Hunt, Pedersen, Strauss

    C: M. Jones, Reilly, Barry

    HF: Bail, Fitzpatrick, Kent

    FF: Spencer, Khan Haretuku*, Kennedy-Harris

    FOLL: Gawn, Salem, McKenzie

INT: Josh Miller*, Nicholson, Ben Sokol*, Tapscott

    * Marks potential rookie selections.

Byrnes is the forgotten one. Can actually play, and could potentially fill that SF hole we have in the forward line.

I'd say its between him and Kent at the moment.

Vince on a HBF is a stretch, I don't have a great feeling he likes to man up/will man up.

  5. Purely thinking about how Richardson Vs. Choco would affect our Round 1 clash,

I personally think Richardson will not be as demanding of a first win as Choco would be.

Choco doesnt seem to be a big picture kind of person, and would demand wins straight up.

Where a new coach like Richardson, will have more time to get improvement in the team.

    Must win game.

  6. Another crack at it.

FB: Garland - Frawley - Terlich

HB: Grimes - McDonald - Dunn

    C: Watts - Tyson - Vince

HF: Howe - Dawes - Trengove

FF: Hogan - Clark - Kent

    R: Gawn - Jones - Cross

    I: McKenzie - Viney - Blease

    S: Toumpas

I understand Dunn isn't a lock for the 22, but his versatility is an asset in the backline and when he is on, can lock down on the best of opponents.

Grimes to improve his kicking ten fold over the summer, and be an asset (along with Terls) coming out of the backline.

Trengove to relish the fact he doesn't need to get 30 touches a game, just low 20s and a few goals on the HFF.

Kent to bring the much needed forward pressure down there, with Howe adding that string to his bow also.

Dawes/Clark sharing the ruck duties with Gawn. 70% to Gawn and the other boys share the 30% load.
