Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Freo is looking like a bit of a mess despite having a decent list. Kozzie should think very carefully before pushing to head there ... Meanwhile, Dees if Luke Jackson came back and some upcoming youngsters may be back into the mix in the next few years ...

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
I took my young son to the MCG on Saturday for this game (beautiful sunny day for it). I never get to watch a game closely with him by my side due to the requests for food, drinks, bathroom trips etc 😁 But I will try to watch some of the replay tonight (or at least the Kayo highlights). Despite the scoreline and the last quarter fade outs I thought the Dees were very competitive, actually dominated in parts and could have gone onto to win this if the set shot kicking was better. Disappointing result and the scoreline flatters the Dingley Hawks tbh. PS - there should a strictly enforced rule at the MCG about adults not permitted to wear wizard hats. I am a fairly tolerant soul, don't care what other people think, do or wear but wizard hats should be strictly verboten! PS - my son enjoyed the mini-golf near Gate 3 (it did eat into our 1st quarter viewing significantly, lol).

NON-MFC: Round 09
I thought that Saints had been lobbying for one MCG home game each season, must have got their wish. Reasonably happy with the Blues so far ... you just never know with them 😁

Training Ground?
If the Dees get Caulfield up and running, it leaves Goschs Paddock as a second oval available for C'Wood (but Richmond would be interested as well I would have thought).

Training Ground?
I watched the Guerra interview the other night on Footy Classified. I got the impression he wasn't across all of the new home base issues yet and also got the impression Eddie was just speculating about Mt Scopus and a supposed delay as well rather than having any real inside knowledge.

Time to go Goody?
Voss is safe for the time being, it wasn't just a win but a good team effort across the board with no passengers which says to me he still has the players.

Time to go Goody?
Time for Dees fans to sheaf the knives for Goody. A couple of wins buys him some time. He is blending some promising youngsters with older players from the 2021 Flag team. Lets see how he goes for the rest of this season.

NON-MFC: Round 07
We match up well against Geelong and not so well against Adelaide. The Crows have dusted us up there before. Will be an interesting game. Think I might take my son to Melbourne v Dingley Hawks, I also feel the Dees could role them 🙏😃

NON-MFC: Round 07
The Blues put in a good 4 quarter performance today and against a credible team. Not sure what it means for the rest of the season but will enjoy it today. Yes, some of my Navy Blue bretheren are loudmouths, won't even try to dispute that 😁

NON-MFC: Round 07
Yes, I was there. I took my 5 year old son. Interestingly, he has always watched Carlton win watching them live, never seen them lose at Marvel/MCG. Have to take him more often, should take him to a Dees game or two as well 😁

NON-MFC: Round 07
After a [censored] opening month of football where I watched all of Carlton's four opening losses live, went on a little family holiday abroad, tuned out of footy and the Blues win 2 on the trot (albeit against weak opposition). Coming back from the MCG on the train right now and my young son says to me "that was a good day!" ... yes ... yes it was 😁 With the Dees also on the winners list, my footy life is looking less bleak than it was a few weeks ago 😃

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
G-Town is great, love the town and the people. Lived there for 5 years (some time ago). I could see Kardinia Park from my balcony when i lived there (Newtown represent 😁). I used to watch the Cats there occasionally when I didn't drive up the freeway to Princes Park, 3054. Never really developed an affection for the Cats (unlike the Dees) but have no hatred of them and respect what they have done over the last few decades. Sheets me how successful they have become and how much of a rabble my once proud mob have become in that time but its mostly self inflicted so can't complain too much 😁

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Tell me about it, footy really sucks right now. My almost 5 year old son last night asked me "Why are both Carlton and Melbourne losing all the time now?" Luckily we have some holidays abroad booked to look forward to as a diversion. I made sure we would be back by September, shouldn't have bothered 😁 BTW, I think both Voss & Goodwin need to go, they are losing their players after repeated failures (not just this season). Just a question of the right timing now I suspect. Goodwin managed a long drought breaking Flag and he will always have a place in the history of MFC for that. Voss got Carlton into a Prelim after a long time in Finals wilderness. But they are both stubborn, inflexible, wedded to an older style contested footy approach and struggling to adapt to the current and evolving trends in the game. Also, both clubs have some other issues they need to address, not just the senior coach but the senior coach is always the face of problematic issues. By the same token, both clubs have the nucleus of very good teams that in the right hands with some savvy trading and drafting could be in contention again in the near future, full blown rebuilds are not needed yet IMHO.

Time to go Goody?
Who will get axed first Voss or Goodwin? 🤔 Who will the Blues & Dees target as a replacement? Longmire, Simpson ... or even Buckley 😁

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Geelong
This last quarter is pretty bad. Ruined some positives from earlier in the game.

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Dees could pull off a narrow win here with a bit of luck ... have showed some positive intent and signs in the 3rd quarter ...

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Geelong
With Windsor & Pickett back in hoping the 'response' from MFC can also have some speed and youthful exuberance. Need a sporting pick me up after the debacle at the MCG last night 😁 Carn the Dees 😈 ** and Trac kicks the first goal 👍

NON-MFC: Round 04
Low standard tussle. Blues improving a bit each week but Voss says we supposedly have a 'long runway'. Not sure I want to be taking off in Round 21 though 😁 Still, slightly ahead at HT, its the 4th quarter that usually lets Carlton down ...

NON-MFC: Round 04
On a train heading to the MCG, somehow making it in earlier than customary and can hopefully squeeze a pint or two in at the Corner Hotel. My expectations are low, hate losing to the filth but will still show up for this one on the off chance ...[nervous tics commencing 😁] ... Carn the Blues!
-
NON-MFC: Round 03
On the train to Marvel Stadium ... "This is the third time; I hope good luck lies in odd numbers. Away, go. They say there is divinity in odd numbers, either in nativity, chance, or death." Not sure why I am going, but I am 😁 Carn the Blues.

Buying Waverley Park?
Too small, restricted by housing development surrounding it. Great for a local footy team, not the Dees.

New coach prospects
Some interesting analysis on the Dees and Goodwin from a Carlton fan youtuber who has branched out into analysis of other teams. Might be of interest to some:

The AFL are treating us with contempt
With the loss of FTA coverage on Saturday nights, having FTA TV eyes on the Dees on Sunday arvos is not a bad side effect. I actually don't mind Sunday arvo games, kid friendly.

NON-MFC: Round 02
On my way to the MCG. I am ready to be hurt again 😁 My expecations are low but this Carlton side does have a bit of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde about it ... so one never knows ... Carn the Blues!
