On the telly, got a great view of Chandler bouncing pinball-style from Swan to Swan to Swan on the back-line without getting a stat. Has he in one game gone past Spargo as the hard-running defensive forward? Similarly we can pass the defender role for a Charlie Cameron-type from Hibberd to McVee. I didn't watch enough of Casey last year to have an opinion. Hibberd had a stellar game at Casey last week. However, I thought that he has dropped off in the firsts and lost his player a bit. Gee, Tomlinson played well at Casey; just gotta love the big guy. Has he a role in the firsts? Melksham played well as sub this week. But I am still twitchy about losing Gawn and TMac for 193cm Rooooey and a mid-size player.

Yep, Melbourne (Tulla) Airport Fire Station c.1990. The Techs reckon he gave them a right old ear-bashing whenever they went over. -
Which is of course why TMac got a gig as a key forward in 2021. Looking forward to see what this year throws up.

Your Top 5 Demons Players of All Time
redandbluemakepurple replied to Craig Drinker's topic in Melbourne Demons
He suffered from back injuries. He went to work on fishing boats in the Gulf of Carpentaria where the beer, wild women and fishing is. He came back the next year and was drafted by the Bullies but only played a handful of games. -

Pre-Covid the trucks were dumping dirt in the gully west of the Airport Golf club (bastards!) and apparently are again. The N-S runway (i.e. not pointing at the Bummers) is preferred because that is the way that Sydney is. So that one first. The E-W is short because they only use it when there is a strong wind (E-W) which pulls them up nicely when heading into same..

Our interesting mix of talls for 2023
redandbluemakepurple replied to deelusions from afar's topic in Melbourne Demons
Joel Smith - 6 years and 28 games. 6 years because he is the son of a beloved former player; only 28 matches because he is a couple of inches too short for a KPP (like his dad), even though he has a tremendous leap (like his dad), has B- disposal (unlike his slicker team-mates), loses Charlie Cameron and co./leaves the same to go fourth up (unlike Old Man Hibbert who replaced him in the 2022 finals). Fitting him into the firsts should stop being an end in itself. MFC told us that he was recontracted because they saw him as having an enormous up-side. That is the terminology for the Cat B Rookie. -

TRAINING: Wednesday 7th December 2022

My Hawks mate would then point out that most ball-ups were around the ground. -
It is now time to accept that we won't be getting a ground close by the MCG despite the emotional pull. A council is not going to give us a locally-used ground or open space. The govt is not going to lean on them. Melbourne Airport might give us a long term lease on some land. We could head out to Cranbourne or Wollert. But then we might as well extend the Casey oval 15m on the North and East and stay there.

Don't knock Da Boss's negative game-plan. Trainwrecks are so much groovier in slow-motion. Wikipedia reckons that Max King achieved an 97.8 ATAR. He might like being pushed around by Ross. Gives us a couple years to come up with a nickname. Possibly, Max Power (thanks Homer) or Plastic (best keep that to ourselves until he signs). -

"Arbitrate" is a dirty word. WTF happened. And significant penalties to show that we are agin it.
