GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Purely from a curiosity perspective, considering what just happened a few days ago and your close relationship with some of the players, what sort of Melbourne do you think will front up this afternoon? I flip and flop, I can see a real statement game or I can see them going through the motions. In other words, I have no idea😐 If I had to guess, sadly it will be the later, hope I’m proven wrong

In my mind the difference is simply respect….to the bloke that got us our first flag in 57 years.

GAMEDAY: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Something just doesn’t feel right about today. Sure there are arguments for and against Goody staying, but I’m still grieving a bit. Just like I suspect quite a few players are. Come what may, he was our premiership coach and he always had our players best interests….and was and still is a bloody good bloke. Some people were critical of Langdon’s presser the other day for essentially saying as it is rather than spin. I certainly wasn’t. Call it as it is. On the flip side not long after, there was Gawny doing the spin as expected saying something to the effect that he was amazed how quickly he and the side has moved on. It was very easy to see right through this. He was just doing his job. In my opinion he clearly was not a happy man. Go Dees for today and the following two weeks. Not sure what team turns up though. Footy supposedly is always bigger than any individual. But also go Goody (yeah I know his financially secure and all that) I still wish him all the best. No matter which way you slice it or dice it, the club hierarchy at the end of the day [censored] on him. And he felt it. Go Dees.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
All through my working life I was always amazed at the number of extroverts that knew how to say all the right things at the right time and they inevitably got the ‘job’. When they came on board and people scratched a little deeper, in a lot of instances they were found out to be as deep as a puddle in a desert. Actions speak louder than words. Buckley appears to be a front runner. If he gets the job I just hope that he is not one of those kind of extroverts. Time will tell.

May to Tribunal
Pretty much agree with all of the above comments. The AFL is an absolute basket case. It is a self vested hypocritical commercial entertainment industry. I also totally agree that in this day and age that we must try and look after the physical welfare of our players. You can manage risks by trying to reduce them but practically speaking you can’t totally eliminate them. Football is a contact sport and there are risks and accidents will occasionally happen. I can only keep saying that in my opinion both May and Newcombe’s unfortunate collisions should not have been cited nor should they have been suspended. Neither player showed malice or intentionally tried to hurt the other player. All four players (in both incidents) were just trying to win the football. Simple as that.

May to Tribunal
Absolute [censored] isn’t it

May to Tribunal
I understand the logic of what you are saying but of course it’s not going to happen. I am just bemused by the irony of how two accidental collision are seen so differently. Even from a Channel 7 commentary perspective. From what I recall from the other week we were shown multiple slow motion replays of the May incident, but last night it was a different story. The AFL and the majority of its commercial partners stink. The only thing that ‘pleased’ me about the May incident was how many people in the football community not aligned to the MFC (putting aside and ignoring the click bait Nazis) said that he should not be suspended. For what it’s worth my opinion is that Jai Newcombe should not be cited or suspended, nor should have May.

Interesting how they don’t do a slow mo replay like they did for May. But we all know this won’t go anywhere I also reckon nor should it….neither should have May’s collision- NON-MFC: Round 22
The answer to your question. Absolutely nothing. To be honest neither player should be reported or suspended……nor should have May.- NON-MFC: Round 22
The Big Crunch. Thinking of the May suspension, I would like to think that someone will be suspended…. so there is some consistency- Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Can’t be bothered fact checking his actual record over the years but….. I clearly remember learning to love to hate him when he defected from Brisbane to Collingwood because he wanted to play for a team that was going to win premierships. Again, can’t be bothered fact checking how many Brisbane won not that long after he left but it was a few. Also I do know that he never experienced wining a flag either as a player or as a coach. He had a pretty long football career. Also certainly the Figjam persona was well deserved. But if he ends up being our coach (I don’t want him to) I guess I’ll just have to learn to like him…..maybe. If we end up with a flag of course I will then love him unconditionally.- REPRISE by Whispering Jack

I used to love to hate Figjam for many a long year. Ironically I got to dislike him a lot less when he stopped coaching and admitted that he made many mistakes during his journey. if he did end up coaching the Dees my biggest issue by an absolute mile would be facing up to a couple of my mates that are Collingwood supporters. For many a long year all they heard me was to bag out on him. Obviously I would have to become a turncoat if Buckley got the gig.- Langdon's 200th
I sort of liked hearing him at this particular time calling it as it is. Given the circumstances, almost refreshing.- Langdon's 200th
Just saw a small grab of Langdon somewhere been interviewed….he was clearly not happy about Goody being sacked (as I suspect a lot of other players felt the same way) It will be fascinating to see what Melbourne team turns up this Sunday.- Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Nor Hird- Simon Goodwin respect thread.
Players obviously loved and respected him and vice-versa. Glad he got Kossie to sign up before he was sacked. Once again, thank you for the premiership. Goody was the heart and soul of the footy club.- Simon Goodwin Sacked
Just watched the press conference. One man squirming, the other so proud. It was so revealing. A fish first rots from the head. The MFC carcass at the moment really stinks. Goody was not the head, he was further down. Pretty much where the heart and soul reside. Clearly he still had his players on side. The head of the fish consists of the Board and senior administrators. It not only stinks, it reeks. They should all resign and / or sack themselves. We need new blood at the very top. Once again to Goody, thank you for the premiership.- Simon Goodwin Sacked
No need to …..apparently Tom Morris has this covered. As an aside I’m more ‘urinated off’ with the insider that is leaking information to him. Want to fix the cultural issues at Melbourne? Find out who is the mole and sack the filthy disgusting toe rag.- Simon Goodwin Sacked
He did what I thought I’d never see in my lifetime- gave us a premiership. Forever grateful for that Football is a brutal business All the best Goody, thanks once again- POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
Strangely I’m not feeling overly upset. Maybe supporting the Dee’s for well over half a century has hardened me up. I just feel a little numb. Or maybe I’ll get a big dose of PTSD in the coming days. Who knows.- POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
Whoops, sorry. I crossed the line. Unreserved apologies to you.- Jordan Lewis
Kozzie stays and Jackson stays- POSTGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
Got a little over excited did we? 😉Understandable. Go Dees - NON-MFC: Round 22
