WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
I've got Salem and Lewis named on the wings for that very reason. When I look at that line-up I see Vince, Lewis and Jones nearer to the end than the start and likewise for Pedersen. TMac and Frost are both yet to hit their prime. Mid and forward are where the issues are IMO.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
Injuries allowing, we're going to be playing a 22 something like this at the end of this year: B: Jetta TMac Hibberd HB: Hunt Frost J.Smith C: Salem Oliver Lewis HF: Petracca Pedersen Hannan F: Garlett Hogan Watts R: Gawn Jones Viney I: Vince Tyson Melksham Stretch OMac and Weid aren't in that team. I just don't see the great need for May or Lever. If they push someone out of that back-line then we end up with one less mid and that's less balanced IMO. There's Brayshaw and VDB to hopefully get over their injuries too. I think more midfield class and tall forward is more important.

I think we need more "Salem" i.e. Stretch ahead of more "Hunt" i.e. Z.Jones

By the end of next season. Stretch is 18 months younger than Jones.

He's very, very good at what he does. But 6 games, 3 tackles total?

Billy Stretch will be a better player. We need a premium, not more soldiers.

I agree that Jones is an uprade on our ins this week - Harmes, ANB and probably Melksham. But 1st rounder?

Just a very ordinary player.

I don't disagree, but it's easier said than done with Collingwood, Carlton and Richmond all in that market and more desperate than us. Who do you suggest we chase?

Agree. If we think that Oscar is going to make it, then is May really #1 priority? I'm less confident that Brayshaw is going to make it now and Vince and Lewis are near the end. I think midfield class is a greater priority. I'm less confident about Weid and Ruck-Fwd than I am about TMac, OMac and Frost in KPD. I think that's #2 priority ahead of KPB.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
I think it's going to be MCG-like so very different from Subi which will be good. Altho maybe Subi suits our style too? It will be interesting to see how we go there. No KP this year which is very narrow.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
I think it's not a coincidence - we've definitely played better footy at the narrower grounds - Etihad and Adelaide Oval. I think maybe our zone holds up better.

How many players that can play small-medium back is enough? N.Jones Salem Lewis Hibberd Melksham Garland Vince Hunt Jetta McKenna White Wagner Harmes J.Smith

The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
Weed is a beautiful kick too. That's very important for a KPF.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I don't see the glaring need - TMac, Omac, Frost, Hibberd - we could groom Keilty back there too but we're choosing to groom him fwd-ruck - there's a message there.

Clarence Oliver
Oliver won the tap as I recall. Watts was deep in the scrap with Lewis, the push and shove with Silvagni came on the tail end after Silvagni dragged Watts out of the scrap.. Some people are never happy - Watts too soft, Watts fighting too much.

In Jason Taylor we trust!
It was good list management. GWS got 2 top 10 picks for him and still have an awesome midfield.
-
In Jason Taylor we trust!
Cultural issues and player retention failure originating from poor list management. GWS have not experienced this.

In Jason Taylor we trust!
Just like Gold Coast eh? SOS gets a lot of stick but GWS are flag favourites and GCS are struggling. I think his list management has been pretty good. As posted earlier he hasn't sold the farm for the GWS "rejects" and they are better and younger options than the rubbish he started with. Lets see where they are in 5 years. I think we know it's a long haul.

Agree. We might have our eye on someone like Hunt and have a fair idea of where the competition is - I think that's why we took him at 57 when we did. If so we will know whether 57 this year covers us or we need to upgrade. Dunn + 57 + 59 for 47 could be a win-win anyway if we're only looking to draft 1 and upgrade 2.
