  1. I don't think you appreciate the restrictions of list size, draft and the salary cap. Every side has fringe players in their 22, even premiership sides, here's one example from each the last 10 flag teams: Dogs: Biggs Hawks: Duryea, Suckling, Simpkin Swans: Bird Geelong: West Collingwood: Blair Geelong: Byrnes Hawthorn: Ladson Geelong: Wojcinski There will be a couple of players like Kent, Hannan, Melksham, JKH, ANB, Bugg or Harmes in our flag side too - they won't all be Oliver, Hunt and Petracca.
  2. I'll reciprocate of course - tix at Kardinia Park will be hard to come by
  3. I'll bet you a double pass to the match that it would be at the MCG.
  4. Zero chance of that happening.
  5. According to the Goodwin mantra this group is creating its own history. On that basis though we've lost to North once so we have history for the first time and need to rectify it by winning this week. I think that first encounter will sting the team, it's a pity Bernard is not playing, he has some skin in it with Cunnington.
  6. Staying in Canmore. Banff, Johnston Canyon today. Lake Louise area tomorrow. Unfortunately can't get to Jasper. Heading to Vancouver Is to kayak after Orca. Someone's gotta do it. Hopefully the Demons can win while we're away.
  7. We look no chance vs Carlton from here in sunny Alberta. Just like last week. If we can win it will be a tremendous result!
  8. Trengove for Tyson surely when Jones and Viney are out too? It's impossible to imagine a scenario where he plays now. A mistake IMO.
  9. Lewis was involved in many important handball chains (no way ring a rosy). On the other hand he fumbled, fell over, didn't put his head over it at least once and gave away a stupid 50. It's a fascinating mix of gòod and bad. He marked the last play inside defensive 50. Critics like TGR and BB will say "coincidence". Happy coincidence.
  10. Interesting that Scott Selwood played this week. I gave him no chance.
  11. It's easy to forget but Naitanui is a big out for them along with Kennedy. i fancy our chances.
  12. in: Gawn, Wagner Out: Watts, Jones i'd consider JKH in to rest someone given the 6 day breaks.
  13. In theory Trengove for Lewis or Tyson I can see. Trengove for Jones - less so.
  14. I predicted your response 6 weeks ago You need to try to keep up!
  15. I agree with you and DubDee - it's a structural issue. When Frost and Hibberd came in OMac went out - that was a structural change but it was masked by OMac's form at the time. Both Macs, Frost and Hibberd can't all play back there. One ultimately has to come out. And yet we've had thread after thread about our lack of KPD depth ... Contrary to popular belief TMac is a better ruck option than Pedersen and Pedersen is a better forward option than TMac - see the %s they've played those roles since half-time vs Collingwood. TMac forward may be Earl Spalding at best - he can probably play there this week with Pedersen and Watts, with OMac and Frost back As you point out, it really becomes an issue when Hogan comes in. One of TMac, OMac, Frost and Pedersen HAS to go out then.
  16. After the Freo loss, according to Demonland, we had a list with more holes than Swiss cheese, now apparently we don't need anything ...
  17. I think people are very seriously under-estimating the effects of 3 consecutive 6 day breaks with a trip to WA in the middle. I think we should be doing some very serious list rotation this week and next week. I addition to Max, the players at Casey who could be considered to play: Trengove, Gawn, Stretch, Kent, JKH, Weideman, Spencer, Kennedy, White, Wagner I'd consider playing at least 5 of those 10 players over the next 2 weeks and giving at least 5 current 22 players a week's break.
  18. North - just so hateable. We need to spank those campaigners later this year.
