Apology to the Media Department
Ok, I'll be upfront and say my view of the Media in general is coloured by experience (including a Ch9 reporter who tried to stitch me up because I repeatedly asked her to stop talking). Strange way to start an apology I know. I've been critical of the coverage in Maroochydore and I can be quite blunt in my opinions. I'm also a person that can congratulate those doing a good job as well. It appears our media people have been busy on a number of projects and having just watched the Daisy comeback promo, I would like to acknowledge what is a great story well presented. Keep up the good work and "Go Dees"

Cornes: Dees Win the Preseason
Thanks Mooney, nothing like you to put a cloud over something. In future don't interrupt when I'm trying to hook a fish.

Cornes: Dees Win the Preseason
Are you still in that line of work? Sorry, but agreeing with Cornes doesn't really strengthen your argument. He's a flo* of the first order, is only interested in generating click bait and reaction to further his profile and is a great example of where the media has descended to. You have been forthright in saying you have some exposure to the media, so summing up your analysis of "our" promo what is your SWOT analysis and the great harm you see in this promotion. I doubt you've seen more false dawns, I was 8 the last time we won a premiership.

Cornes: Dees Win the Preseason
See, he just doesn't get it, as a friend of mine often says "you can't put brains in monuments" That's unfair of me, for clarity; It's not about you, it's a PROMO.

Nasher, we should both know better that get involved in a game of tennis with SWYL, we will end up being perplexed.

Cornes: Dees Win the Preseason
As I said, all about perception. Someone here has already made an outrageous statement that anyone who was going to buy a membership this year has already done so. They may have missed the bigger point that we need to promote the Club for our sponsors as well. So, what would be your promo this year? "Almost back", "Wait until September, we might be there"
-
Cornes: Dees Win the Preseason
So your of the opinion that the promo is saying we are already back?

Cornes: Dees Win the Preseason
It's all about perspective and opinion isn't it. I've thought this promotion (and that's what it is), is about the road back and not a statement that we are back. It's about how hard the Club is working at redemption. If that work is not enough and we are not redeemed at the end of the season then there will be further changes. You say "just shut up and work" but it's not the players promoting this. It is the Club and it's media department trying to show how hard the players are working at redemption. I'm a little confused about this attitude of yours and others. Why do you come on this site if it's not to glean the positives? Would you rather hear nothing from the Club? I can see the Media release you appear to want to write, it starts; "Nothing to see here"

Maroochydore Training Camp 2020
Or not What will be interesting is how many games Frost actually plays in the firsts if he doesn't follow team rules and the coaches directions. I can see Clarko giving him an earful and it being quiet painful for Frost.

Maroochydore Training Camp 2020
The thought crossed my mind. It's not the only "coincidence" regarding what is discussed on here and what subsequently appears in the Media.

Maroochydore Training Camp 2020
The original question related to the Training Camp only. I gave an opinion that the coverage wasn't as good as previous years and I wasn't impressed by the Instagram stuff. I may have been a little derogatory in my comments and that is likely a result of my general experience of media. I still say it wasn't as good as previous. If there was a team up there working on the "To Hell and Back" doco and the limited resources were channeled into that, then fair enough, I'm happy to reconsider the criticism.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Your good self and your learned colleagues (who liked your post) clearly have no idea what synergy means.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Sounds like he was ahead of his time .... as a tool

Farewell Jesse Hogan
That's pretty insensitive and seeing how your never going to walk a mile in their shoes, your opinion says way more about you than players struggling with mental health issues.

- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Do a google search by copying and pasting "AFL Rules effective 9 May 2019.pdf" Click on the top result, should download immediately. Then read section 26. But to answer the question; A player needs to be placed on the "Long Term Injury List" and then a Rookie can be nominated for the Primary list. A long term injury is 6 weeks or more. As far as I'm aware KK and Nietschke are still listed on the Primary list. So there is currently the potential for 2 rookies to be promoted. Strategically that won't be done till a Rookie is needed or one is smashing down the door.- Eddie's Plan to Redevelop the G
Perhaps Jack wont let him drive.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Actually I think we're already in the plus column, there has been an enormous amount of media attention and with it comes sponsor exposure. I think it has been positive for the players as well, whether he plays a game for us or not. If he has set the right examples then even if he doesn't make it back there are lessons for all. I'm a big believer in goodwill and you reap what you sow. The Club ethos is supported and grown by this. Don't be mistaken, there were plenty of other Clubs who would have liked this opportunity and Bennell chose us. I hope to see both parties rewarded further.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Agree and I think he would have been under the microscope the whole time during the training camp, on and off the field. I think signing him now sends a great message to him that he is doing all the right things and that we are invested in him and trust that he will play for us.- Maroochydore Training Camp 2020
Thought it was crap compared to previous years. I have enjoyed the one on one interviews but the stories and the humour in previous training camps was far better. Hated the limited vision and photos and think some of the contributors on here would have done a far better job as volunteers. If this is an example of what our media people produce, when it's their only job while they're up there, then I think they are being payed under false pretenses. By all means post snippets on twitter but how can our own media department not understand the member and potential member demographic?- Demonbracket 2020
- 49ers: From 2nd Last to Superbowl
Heh Macca, You seem quite knowledgeable with the rules, is there one regarding helmet to helmet tackling on the QB?- 49ers: From 2nd Last to Superbowl
Always had a soft spot for the 9ers. A mate of mine organizes an area at the Wharf Hotel every year and he has never seen a Superbowl victory for them. I'll be there decked out in my Denver Broncos gear. I recently came across my old Orange Crush jersey that a purchased in Denver in 1983. I won't be wearing that as it's a bit tight and I don't think I'd be able to breathe after a dozen Bud's. - WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
