Petty seems to go OK up the ground as a link up mark player, but unfortunately that role usually also plays ruck, which Petty is hopeless at. Really a puzzling player for us to use to any good effect. Meanwhile we cannot score again.

Petty actually has no idea what to do when kicking for goal. It's a coaching thing more than anything. He's crying out for someone to tell him what to do.

Why is Goody delaying the sub with Petty's foot like that? Honestly, Goodwin's boneheaded use of the substitute does my head in.

Kolt's tackle and chase is great stuff. I think he's AFL ready now (fitness wise), when previously he wasn't.

What is the point of playing Petty as a forward if he can't kick for goal?

Not really Good. Hands working well, and disposal efficiency up. Heaps. Great tackling and generally solid two way running + disposal. Front on tackle pressure causing them to generally fill their pants every time they get the ball. EDIT: Also Roo and Kosi having a day out up forward.

I hate to be that guy, but no Bowey and no Salem hasn't hurt us. Those two are in seriously poor form and fitness.

The massive change has been our tackling pressure, and that's set off a chain reaction that has resulted in a turnaround in every other phase of the game. The frontal contact on every Brisbane possession from Kolt, Chandler, Viney, and Kosi has absolutely flipped the script on the lions, turning them into the hunted ones and has allowed us to pressure their disposal and allow our defenders to defend ugly ball for a change. Then when we get it we're running in waves and seeing a real target in van Rooyen up forward. Fantastic stuff.

This is the best tackling performance from us since I don't know when. Lions are filling their pants every time they get the ball.

We're running in absolute waves now. Really amazing stuff compared to some of the dross we've been serving up. Brissy down a bit, but this is on the back of effort.

Roo is proving an immense target up forward. Lovely stuff to see. Great crumb by Chandler. Roo should've got the free as well imo.
