GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Have to feel for Tom McDonald. An entire career playing dour defensive roles in garbage teams, with 3 good years of football in the middle there. At least he got that flag.

Finally we kick to a leading forward and it's…Langdon. OK then!

I think you can see the look of dejection on the players faces too. It's dawning on them what has already dawned on us: a long time in the wilderness beckons, and a lot of pain lies in our future. Like a sandcastle destroyed by the waves, the dynasty that could have been has been washed away, only to leave…this.

I want Goodwin to go as well, but he can't stop Petracca from hand balling to no one or fumbling a ball at his toes under no pressure. And that's Petracca, our best player. All down the list we've gone backwards at warp speed.

Bayley Fritsch has turned into one of the worst footballers I've seen pull on a jumper in a long long time.

Have Shand and Crowe 'left the building'?
In 2021 the big theme was "reset" - you would often be able to see players saying the word to each other on the field. Seemed to work pretty well, but I never really saw it in 2022 or beyond.

How many players have improved ?
Just put in my DVD for the round 1 2021 game vs the Dockers and Clarrie's body shape completely shocked me. Everyone looked in rock solid shape, but the difference between the sleek red Ferrari and the orange dumptruck we have now sure is a downgrade!

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Huge loss to Geelong.

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Geelong
That was some brilliant delivery into 50 from Kozzy.

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Geelong
That was a very weak free kick against us for a nudge under the ball that goes unpaid 15 times a game at least.

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Petty constantly plays from behind but has no closing speed. Interesting strategy.

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Barracking for a smashing now so we can get rid of Goody and free the players up with a new coach.

Fritta is an absolute witches hat.

Disposal and decision making is godawful.

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Geelong
So much of our fall since 2021 is on our leaders. Viney, Gawn, Petracca, Oliver (not a leader but damn influential when playing well). None of them are a patch on their form in that year. No Brayshaw either and that's a lot of extra pressure on our younger guys. EDIT: Gawn is trying, and so is Viney, but they're not able to bring it in terms of influence on the game.

Jack Viney smh...

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Jack Viney's blind kicks forward do my head in. I get he gets it under pressure in a contest situation but ffs have some poise. Kozzy's disposal under pressure is so much more creative.

GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Geelong
I missed both of our last two games due to family commitments. Sorry about that folks. I'll watch tonight and I'm sure all will be right with the world as we pick up another honourable loss just like in R1.

PREGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Goodwin once upon a time wouldn't play Fritsch as a forward even though we were screaming for it. Now we can't get him to get Fritsch out of the forward line even though he isn't even Coldstream seconds level at the moment.

Back to the dark days?
The dark days were caused by offloading our leaders. We haven't done that (yet). Lose Petracca, Oliver, Pickett, and we will go back to those days.

Buying Waverley Park?
Imagine Northey and Stynes relocating from whatever pleasant afterlife they're surely currently experiencing, solely to haunt Waverley Park should we buy it.

Time to go Goody?
Now run that same study for sides that win a premiership with the replacement coach… We're not out here to be the median team you know.

Time to go Goody?
This is why I haven't had real issues with Goodwin the latter parts of last year culminating in Sunday. We have no excuses not to beat the Roos, but the manner in which we lost is the telling thing. Our losses seem to fall into two camps since mid last year: 1. Noble defeats (that we could win if our mindset was right) 2. Smashings (that show we've dropped our heads) Both are attitude-based, and that ultimately springs from the coach. I don't think Goodwin has the capacity to truly motivate our group, and that means he has to go.

NON-MFC: Round 02
I'm surprisingly liking them…I have had about six though.

NON-MFC: Round 02
No idea how he has managed to worm his way into all the cushy TV gigs he has got. Famous name + premierships probably gets the job done, though it shouldn't.
