  1. So he is slow to come and possibly quick to leave? The word shambles is coming to mind. Honestly, if you’re Buckley - you want to come to this keystone cops of a situation?
  2. Green needs to step down as agreed. This is ridiculous. Good governance meant we found a President that was capable, and willing to take over the role. Green is an ‘interim’ (I don’t give a flying what he thinks he is) President and should leave as agreed. We should have a new coach that is entirely hired through the process of the leadership that is to be in place long term. That is good governance. This is a shemozzle. I don’t care if Brad Green bleeds red, blue, or pellets of Pure Unfiltered Jakovich ‘91 - he is not the desired long term or medium term leader of the club. I am not going to touch on the CEO issue but that is simmering dumpster fire… check on that in a month or whenever he deigns us with his presence.
  3. That’s wilderness not ‘mini- rebuild’
  4. Still confounds me we can have a non-MFC thread on this board but we can’t have one on the Melbourne Demons team that is once again consistently showing up for the club and the fans.
  5. This should be on the main board. What a team this has been to watch. So hard at it for so long. Purcell is a machine and she in unfairly compared to Tyla who is a cleaner, more efficient machine… Love Heath and McNamara for their dare and run. Ebert looked good I thought down back with Lampard and Chaplin. And hope Tayla is ok - I have a soft spot for selfless CHF who demand the ball in the right spots and put a knee through that spot. Just love having her there. You’d walk taller with her there.
  6. Can you two keep it civil
  7. rpfc replied to Demonstone's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thats not it at all… AI slop
  8. Ok, that’s having a narrative and ‘finding data’ to back it up. But whatever
  9. Oh boy… So we are just assuming this is muckraking? What if we are leaking against each other? What if an interim president is making/leaning on decisions that they shouldn’t? Why should I give the benefit of the doubt? That’s not rhetorical.
  10. So you agree that some sort of ‘process’ should occur? I don’t really know what to tell you - good governance is good governance - you may not run the ‘proven’ (whatever that entails) coaches through the cog and psyche tests but you have some form of structure so that you give yourselves the best opportunity to find the person your organisation can get behind. And a big part of that is the effing process for how you hired the bloke!
  11. It’s a fair critique though isn’t it? You don’t have much of a process if there is a preordained pick as some on here believe (or perhaps know). Personally, I have always liked Coach Buckley but guess what I would prefer to do?
  12. The Collingwood Misses Finals Door is still ajar! We lose to Haw and we beat the Pies and a few other results go the right way (nothing huge really) and the Pies will be ‘schrodingers finalists’ waiting for GCS to beat ESS in the empty round before finals and kick them out.
  13. Still can’t win even under Buckley #timetomoveon
  14. Absolute shambles. Then I am losing faith in the board. Coaches are not players - they are the de facto leader of the club especially in a period where we have no CEO and an interim President. Just fire him in April. As soon as you start tapping up someone - pull the trigger and deal with the consequences of your actions.
  15. So ‘blind Freddy’ was in charge making rash decisions and undermining the club? I just don’t believe it, it is trash behaviour. And if we were tapping up Buckley after our ‘awful start’ then it is absolutely a sign of a poorly run club. Fire him then. It’s like when we told Neale to ‘reapply for your job’ and he told us to GFO. Good clubs make decisions when it something is so obvious you are undermining the status quo. So, again, it’s BS or this administration is.
  16. What a shambles of a club if this is true; approaching a potential coach and effectively undermining a flag winning coach and the season you are in… So either you are full of it or the club is.
  17. Carlton have three games that they better be a good show in or it will put a lot of pressure on the random decision to back Voss in until effectively May 2026…
  18. So we’re going to get 30 cents on the dollar for Oliver while paying half his wage and we are going to hoist ourselves on the McVee petard and lose him for nothing? Great way to get back to our 2008-2013 list…
  19. Boo hoo.
  20. I’m disappointed but this is the game, I just hope he considers himself a Demon for the reunions. This was not a surprise and I think it’s the right decision. It’s also the easiest decision. Much harder ones to come.
  21. It’s neither unreasonable and sensational. Just a humdrum change of coach that has had an underperforming team for 2 years now (4 years if we are nasty about it - but right).
  22. Debaser got there before me but we have not had a good ‘second half’ of the season. We had a great 6 week stretch and won two games outside of that.
  23. We have an interim president and CEO - to think we have someone ‘already on the hook’ is as laughable as it is dangerous. Who would agree to come unless to future President and CEO were the ones to be there to run the process and own the decision? We are nowhere and that’s ok, if we can soon get somewhere, but some of you look like sheep walking on their hind legs thinking we have someone lined up…
  24. Healthy teams don’t put up that last qtr against StK. Telling him when we have made the decision is as respectful as you can be in this position. That is not an endorsement of the board - this is a bare minimum decision - there are much harder ones to come. Thanks to Simon who will go down as our greatest coach of the modern era and I hope someone who will be around the club in years to come.
