SIMON simply does not have the answers despite having the best cattle at his disposal !!!!

Face palmers please tell me why SIMON does have the answers despite losing a final with the best 2 man ruck combo, best midfield, and best defence. I am all ears ??

    Players played like rubbish.

Supporters supported like rubbish. Felt like I was at a funeral it was that quiet.

Yep, spot on. Has hurt us all year, that the “premiership” team couldn’t create an environment that helps us win games. Just a run of the mill club rather than a Ess, Coll, Carl etc

Huh? Sydney are a better team. Might want to reread it, champ. And maybe calm down. Your stream of consciousness is weighing down the servers.

Haha face palm away pal…..read your last 10 posts. Not accepting reality clearly!!!

we had a final won, and buddy faking a 50 actually turned the game. Nothing more, nothing less. Accept reality. Not a dynasty team. Just a team that won 1 flag, and didn’t have what it takes to accept a tiny bit of adversity and back in a plan to get things back on track.

    Truth hurts peeps!

The better "TEAM" won. Having more superstars doesn't make a team.

Agree. Weaker team, who played as a better team won, but [censored] me, the weapons we had on our side and wasted, it’s hard not to put it down to own goals as to why we lost. Largely strategy based, as to how a weaker team got the points.

Can sum it up for you very simply. The better team lost. Absolutely 1000% out-coached, if you can’t see that yet, you will work it out in coming days

What a melt down by some of you, we weren’t great but wholesale changes after you lose a QF to a great team?

You all drank your own bath water on this Demons team.

Last year in Perth was lightning in a bottle.

We are not some god team that will CRUSH. KILL. DESTROY.

We are a good team with a scrappy fwd line that really struggles to move the footy in transition and good teams prey on us for that.

Terribly take from someone who can’t cop being spanked by a better team / coach

LJ has said and done nothing about any proposed move He will consider his position after the season end

I fully expect him, as I have from the start of this BS, TO RE-SIGN WITH THE DEES

There is no compelling reason to do otherwise and many good reason to do so!!

Don’t disagree with you Kent. But the fact that to date he hasn’t signed up to a premiership team who is well placed to go back to back, is more to do with the potential $$ on offer, rather than any desperate need to go home, in my humble opinion.

interesting alright, but the dogs issue all year was quality tall fwds that take marks.  Naughton was triple teamed.  Schache is useless, UH and Darcy are young but look good.  They need another tall to be 2nd ruck with English and take some marks

On number 2, Freo are deperate for talls especially up fwd.  with Lobb goen, Tabener always injured.  I think they will not play Jackson no 1 ruck while Darcy is playing.  Does LJ want to play predominately fwd??  doubt it

Only thing that makes sense to me, is LJ has been enticed by the big $$, and using the “go home” factor as a convenient excuse

Unless Jackson is happy to go to the Eagles, Freo are not in a bidding war with anyone. What people perceive his trade value to be and what we get, is likely to be totally different.

The reality is that Freo won't be able to acquire a top 5 pick, so a top 15 pick, a future 1st and a fringe player is what I'm expecting.

Mo, seriously, give it a spell.

    Your views are incorrect

This article makes me nauseous, with the talk that we'd have to give up a 1st round pick for Grundy.

Mo you seam to be a real Debby downer, any chance of some positivity? Life is not that hard as a supporter of the reigning premiers, who just finished 2nd is it?

Josh Bruce is a curious one

Does he get a game with Lobb, Naughton and JUH? Unlikely, unless one of them is headed to defence

Really similar to Tomlinson, having strong years prior to ACL's only to return looking half cooked

Could a straight swap be on the cards? One cooked knee for another, fits a need for both clubs...

    Love the pic adonski.

Conditional on him being fit, and the filth paying a decent % of his wage Gawndy is growing on me!

When the ferals start chanting ‘Coooollongwood’ when the game is stitched up is annoying but oh so effective (I’m jealous).

Picture 50k plus demon fans right near the end of the game and when we win next Friday becoming like a possessed tribe yelling loudly, screaming call it what you like, and at the same time thumping their chests. Possessed demons.  Pure emotion.

We should only do it when we have got the game sown up and / or have won. (In other words, 3 more times this year)

I think our boys would love it.

Yep, I know I’m dreaming but it’s fun. Just like I used to dream for over 50 years that we’d win a flag in my lifetime. Dreams sometimes come true.

Would be epic. And potentially make the news overseas given how successful a movie “wolf of Wall Street” is/was.

Regarding the sore chest, top of the stomach does the trick.

I'm actually surprised he made it. Had a good year but not as good as last year. Was injured in the first quarter against the Dockers, missed the next two games and then took a few games to get back in the groove after his dust-up.

May’s cunning plan to fire up Melk as a match winner got him into the AA

Sadly, I agree. Max seemed to have an air of resignation.

Fantastic leadership and culture, if the players know this, have accepted it, and have a mindset of “let’s enjoy our last month or so together”

His performance against the lions displayed evidence that we should get the best out of him, if he only has a few weeks left as a demon - a credit to Jacko himself, his teammates, and the culture of everyone involved.

Geez, interesting votes in the last game. :)  Reckon Goody may have sacrificed Tracc's votes for Clarry's. Many Demonlanders had Tracc BOG against Brisbane... Nonetheless an outstanding achievement for Touk and Clarry. Well deserved.

The right outcome though. Clarry has been a more reliable, consistent performer than Trac during the H&A.

Let Trac focus on the big finals and Norm

I reckon we should give Weid another chance.

He hasn't had a crack for over a fortnight and he's a proven finals player .

Against the Hawks 4 years back for example.

TMac takes a month to get up to speed after injury

    No. Just no.

You obviously didn’t watch last weeks vfl.

That was like a final for him (2nd last chance to show form and get picked for finals), and he delivered 6 possessions, 2 points, 2 marks. Completely mentally shot unfortunately and sadly.

This had occurred to me as well. We clearly did not 'close-out' the game to the satisfaction of supporters. They would have known that percentage is important and to secure 2nd spot, a 70+ margin would have all but done that.  But we gave up 2 really soft goals (1 contentious umpiring decision) and played more conservatively, which admittedly is our game style.

Is it self-preservation and avoidance of any injuries or did we legitimately run out of gas (again). Our 1st half was potent and the damage was done, but watching Geelong & Richmond, they didn't take the foot off the gas (acknowledge the opposition in both cases was poor) - they were clinical until the end.

With the likes of Collingwood in finals, i would have liked to see our commitment to attack and score all the way to the end and never let the opposition back in the game. Beggers cant be choosers though and im ecstatic that we are #2 and will have a good crack at the flag again. Lets hope our form is genuine (Pies, Blues and Lions) were all great performances so im thinking it is right where it needs to be.

Ess - 15th (and club falling apart)

    Eagles - 17th

    Lions - 4th pre game, 6th after.

Really don’t think you can compare Melb’s finish to Geel/Rich given the relative positions of the opponents. There is not too many top 4/6 teams that don’t come up with some sort of response after a 66 point half time deficit.
