Watched the last 2 minutes again. The standard of commentary is absolute and utter garbage. Koz kicks one of the most clutch goals of the season, and all McLachlan can do is waffle on about the team being beaten and how disappointing it is for them. What about celebrating the skill and effort on display to do what looked impossible?
When you look at the $ paid for tv rights, it is simply amazing that they can’t improve the standard of commentary

By the end of the season we will have played 1 team outside the top 9 teams in the last 12 weeks while being banged up with injuries.
This doesn't excuse our losses nor does it garuntee we will suddenly beat everyone in the finals, but keeping those metrics as high as we are with such a difficult run in vs let's say Geelong or Collingwood having much more favourable draws is a reason to have confidence.
I think the view of us being “banged up with injuries” is not actually accurate. Relative to a normal year, we really haven’t had many injuries at all.
relative to last year we have had more, but last year we had an abnormally low amount.

I highly rate this team. The emotion of it all takes hold when expectations aren't met. I'll be first to admit that my negativity sometimes gets the better of me. I thought in the heat of battle that we were "pathetic" tonight. In reflection and after watching the replay I realised we're not.
And that I am pathetic.
This is my life.
Had the same experience last week vs pies

We are 5-3 since the bye. With 2 of those losses, probably deserving to win, and we got lucky stealing one we maybe didn’t deserve last night.
Beat the lions with more compelling ball movement, and our form line heading into finals is not as bad as many suggest. Especially given we will have played 6 top 8 sides since the bye, 9th, 11th and the crows.
scratching my head like others with the game style, team selection, & not trying more alternatives in the fwd line, but let’s just hope there is method in the madness and the FD know exactly what they are doing.

Will cop it for this but I’d seriously consider bringing Weid for Jackson. I think we’re really struggling with our ruck combo at the moment. We’re playing Max forward too much because Jackson gives us nothing inside 50. But Max isn’t scoring enough and although Jackson is rucking a lot more minutes he’s not as good a ruckman as Max so we’re not as potent in the middle.
Weid is at least a forward who chops out in the ruck which would improve our balance. He would offer more than Jackson forward and force Max to take more ruck minutes, both of which I think are positive.
Otherwise, Spargo was putrid, Neal-Bullen continues to make poor decisions and Sparrow had no impact. Would probably bring Harmes in at a minimum to tag Neale and look at a small forward who might occasionally trouble the scorers.
If Weid kicks 14 in the vfl, I be willing to give him another chance.

Is fun watching “Naughts” knowing he will be at the mfc next year.
Imagination running wild, trying to work out if he will fit in best with BB, TMac, Hogan or Larkey :)

Not necessarily.
We could still end up at the SCG if Swans gain a couple of %.
What is our record at the MCG? lost something like 4 out of the last 5?
Interstate? Won 11 or 12 in a row.

Harmes has to come in to tag Neale next week. Keeping him quiet goes a long way towards beating them.

10+ goal win please.

It could actually be that the “error in law” has been proven, but the AFL has a directive of definite weeks when concussion / subbed off involved

A lot at stake for the afl. Ratings the next 2 weeks, and Carlton finals if they get there.
+ Early runaway leader in the Brownlow.

Surely Goodwin is not that foolish? In the eyes of so many supporters and members, he'd lose his job.
Maybe goody thought a sneaky late change of the Weid in is better than Thurs night, in case Sam reads Demonland?!

Does that mean naked lap around the G?
Will look out for Peter Hichener’s report of the arrest of “binman” pre game at the G.

Banished to the magoos by Bizarro Bevo all year (as reported by Tom 'Dees Man' Morris)
Had time off for personal issues & contracted for a further couple of years but clearly on the outter
Would be our second best winger and add more skill to the midfield group
Thoughts, queries, concerns?

I still never understand why good field kicks like Gawn and Petracca go back 30 metres and run in with a completely different action to field kicking, when they have marks from 20 metres out. It gets all awkward and they end up missing. Guys now kick off two steps around corners, but continue on massive run-ups when kicking 20m directly in front. Dunstall would tear me a new one for this opinion, but I’d be pushing back off the mark as far as ai would for a field pass, and aiming to ‘pass’ it over the umpires head. I reckon it’s far safer.
Yep, you can see the mental demons flowing in Trac and Gawn’s faces when doing their slow run up for goal.

They do have a habit of landing their targets.
Grundy needs his cheese platters I feel. Doesn’t fit in with cats culture.

Rubbish topic !! All this is doing is inflating Kane Cornes & Matthew Lloyd's already enlarged egos !!
Well hopefully Kane & Matthew don’t read demonland. If they do, well hi guys, unfortunately I can’t say what I think of you, as mods will remove my post.

Is Grundy better than Darcy Cameron and Mason Cox? On paper the obvious answer is yes, but the reality is that the Pies are performing better without Grundy. Cameron and Cox are far better forwards than Grundy, which makes the tandem work.
The larger factor is Cameron + Cox combined salary is likely less than Grundy’s. And the pies reportedly, have the ability to pick up some other handy players that will strengthen their team if they can find the salary space.

Not sure if we want him or not BUT how good would it be if he played in the 2023 Grand Final won the Norm Smith and we beat Collingwood by say 5 points. With an after the siren goal kicked by Grundy from 50 mt.
And they had Darcy Moore in the ruck, because Cameron & Cox injured.

When he plays like that, we can afford to cop his few un-forced errors on the chin.
