You need A-grade players at a club for the development of younger players to be most effective. Coaching cannot do it alone. Imagine being a young mid at Collingwood training etc with Pendlebury every day, at Geelong with Selwood or Gold Coast with Ablett. No disrespect to Chunk, but what do our young players have to watch and learn from in comparison?

I see we are $1.55 or thereabouts for the win in this game. It wasn't long ago that the Saints were a similar price.

Been watching a few Adelaide and Bullies games to have a look at Bernie Vince and Daniel Cross. Bernie looks to be a really good highly skilled player.

I'm surprised the Bummers didn't move the party to Hird's place in response. Hird didn't start the 'I'm bigger than the club' thing - Sheedy did that and it took a man with cojones - Peter Jackson - to do what was 2-3 years overdue, but Hird obviously liked what Sheedy had put in place and is using it to great effect. The Kool Aid drinkers at Tullamarine continue to lap it up. This does not happen at any other club.
