Massive overs. Would need to play pure midfield and be better than Cripps to justify that sort of cash.

This is also my view. Trade options don't always present early on.
  3. Allan Hird having another crack: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/essendon/james-hirds-dad-urges-bombers-to-name-and-shame-board-moles-who-betrayed-his-son/news-story/18ebf2faa820a7857e02df477e13ca38
  4. Dangerfield is pushing for shorter quarters to be the norm. Knows normal length disadvantages his club. Watch it happen.
  5. He is teflon. Rutten goes before him. Dodoro is an 'Essendon person'. Expecting Hird to be in some role soon.
  6. Effectively a coaching position in the salary cap instead of the significantly reduced soft cap. Smart decision.
  7. Has too much influence on the game being President of AFLPA and also on the Competition Committee. 16 minute quarters and limits on runners on ground really suited the Cats with all their 200+ game players. Looking forward to 20 minute quarters returning and younger teams getting an advantage through fitness.
  8. Until 2021.

I actually watched that game on the weekend and thought he was pretty good in a team that was well beaten.

DK Metcalf was the Hawks best defender on the day. Budda Baker is seriously quick but Metcalf not only spotted him 10 yards but timed his tackle perfectly.
  11. 4 premierships. Other 2 never happened. Still ****ty Parra got cheated out of winning in 2009.
  12. Hard to argue with stupidity mate. Brown would be a great addition to the club.
  13. Geelong have onfield coaches on every line. Taylor, Danger, Ablett, Selwood, Hawkins. Be a huge benefit.
  14. Season has suited teams with a lot of very experienced players.

Dunstall did alright in the same role at Hawthorn. Not sure what his credentials were.

    Third rounder get it done?
  18. This also applies to the Glazers who own Manchester United. No ambition outside of the dividend each year.
  19. Stuie posted something on FB today about a new assistant who is at either Richmond or Geelong.

I wonder who will be the next employee connected to GFC? Maybe someone named Indi?
  21. AFLPA only represents the Dangerfields of the League. No surprise he is President. The journeymen barely get a look in other than clubs having to pay 95% of the cap. Rookies have set pay structure so nothing to do there. Look how former players like Robbie Muir are treated to see the focus of the PA. It is just reflecting the fact it is a celebrity based league these days.
  22. The AFLPA have seen what happens in the NBA with super teams and the same teams (generally) finishing top 4 or 6 in the EPL, and want it here. Actually it is pretty much already happening.

Did Geelong do the trade with Gold Coast where they got pick 11 this year for 27 and 64 last year just for this? Conveniently the Suns cannot trade concession picks any more, after Hocking gets his club what they would need.

Free agency is working as intended. This is what the AFLPA wanted.

Every club has NQRs. It is about getting them to operate at the best plodding level as often as possible. Like people not up to the job in the workplace - if you can't sack them, just get the best out of them as much as you can.
