Dogs fly up Saturday. If only we were allowed to do that.

Caroline Wilson on MFC rumblings
There was, but they are probably his mates. Sydney and Freo got to train at Cazaly's and no travel on the day of the game. Of course they would be happy about the arrangements.

Caroline Wilson on MFC rumblings
The whinging claim was based purely on Goody's comment that he would have liked to be able to travel up the day before the game, and being forced to train in between games at another oval, not Cazaly's. The clown who wrote it suggested the club could phone Flash and ask him what the conditions were like. What a moron.

Charles Spargo - A Grade Small Defender (2021 Edition)
Also liked how he jumped for his marks on Saturday. Took them on the chest but at the height he would normally mark in his hands. Would be harder to spoil.

Hawks have offered him a 2 year deal, which they normally don't do for over 30s.

Do we really want to be like Essendon? Their deluded fans have an obsession with 'Essendon people' being in positions of authority. Hird really worked out well didn't it?

Great win by the Eagles. Saints in some bother now.

THE RUN HOME 2020
Nope - HQ has already given them the OK to fly up the day before. What a surprise.

In a normal year it can't really be done (other than Richmond having 7 in a row at the G to finish the season), but this year has been a massive free hit for the AFL to favour some teams over others and haven't they taken advantage of it!!

Dogs have had 2 runs of 4 straight games at Metricon, and they had 3 in a row at Marvel to start the season. How nice would that have been?

Just read the AFL are letting the Bulldogs fly to Cairns the day before they play Freo in Round 18. What a joke. We were not allowed to, and the article says the club were furious at being forced to travel on game day. Dogs also fly to Adelaide the day before this weekend too. Anyone think the whole thing is not rigged?

The Travel Factor
The players are human, and constantly moving would have a significant effect. I never sleep properly the first night anywhere away from home, and unlike other clubs, the team have pretty much not stayed in the same location for more than a week at a time. Players in other sports such as NBA or cricket are used to it, but AFL players are not. Experienced ones like Dangerfield will deal with it better, and also clubs with a lot of experienced players (Geelong, Port, Richmond).
