To Collingwood: Stand up and be counted, don't let people call you Collywobbles, ok?
-
The way he scored that goal showed me his character. I've admired that aspect of his personality and have had faith in him ever since.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Min Xie replied to praha's topic in Melbourne Demons
We might have a chance to break this record一"No team have won a premiership from the 4th since year 2000." Sydney had their chance in 2006, but lost to WC by 1 point in GF. -
I love FOUR' N TWENTY, I just wanna eat the Pies at MCG in QF. Go Dees!

Brad Scott: I feel your pain. Chris Scott: I feel your pain, too.
-
Yes, same view.

Ding...ding...ding... Chris Scott: Hi Brad... Brad Scott: Hi Chris, I'm in trouble. I think you're not "The danger", Giants are "The danger". Chris Scott: You don't know nothing, we're the real one, the real danger! Brad Scott: You're not gonna make the final 8. Chris Scott: You think you can? Brad Scott: What should we do? Chris Scott: Crying together...

Yes, we also know these things happened in footy. Hopefully some of these can be solved in a better way in the future.

I remember you because of your username, it's good to talk to you again. I like teasing Chris Scott, here is another one I wrote after Freo beat Cats in Rd20. Chris Scott: We’re the danger. Justin Longmuir: We’re peaceful people, we make the danger disappear. Thanks for bringing that up. Yes, I’m aware the data can sometimes present a misleading picture for readers, I’m always a bit cautious about that. Generally, I base my judgment on my own knowledge and experiences, using the data as a reference only. I have been following Daniel Hoyne’s weekly analysis for several weeks, and appreciate his work (I like Leigh Montagan as well). Have a good evening, enjoying the footy! In case you missed out, here is another one for fun only: A made-up-conversation between 3 people: “Which part of his body did you see touching the ball?” “His right wrist.” “Which part of your body touched the ball?” “ My left fingertip.” “Did you see his left fingertip touch the ball?” “No, I didn’t” “Did your right wrist touch the ball?” “Hmmm, let me think …” “Okay, make up your mind. 30 seconds …15 seconds left …”

I’m very sorry, I might have caused you more pain. I can see you’re a dedicated Dees’ supporter, and I understand what you said. I hope you are feeling better now after three days of suffering. Whatever dislike or hatred we hold for Carlton, we still have to face the reality, don’t we? Carlton didn’t just win a game week after a week, they were on the rise as well. As a reference, foxfooty’s Pressure Gauge showed Carl 238 vs Melb 200 in the 1st quarter, 238 is unheard of. We also know the number of the 50m entries in the 1st quarter was Carl 21 vs Melb 4. I watched the game on tv and the replay. I’d say we actually prepared well for this game, as I had expected, we indeed applied more pressure on them than we did on Collinwood in Rd13. Unexpected things happened, they were capable of applying even higher pressure on us which they had never shown before, at the same time, they handled our pressure ok, much better than Collinwood did in Rd13. If they had applied the same pressure on some other team in the 1st quarter, we might have probably heard something like “A Quarter of Bloodbath''. We played really well, absorbed the pressure, and allowed them to score only one goal and 3 behinds. The footy pitch was ok in the 1st quarter, if it had stayed that way, I believe we would have won the game. In a dry condition, I think we would gain more advantage than they would gain. We’re where we are. Brisbane and PA have shown significant improvement this year, but I can't say the same for us. We had a few young players join the team, and we were forced to try something new, which I really liked. Meanwhile, we’re the team who is capable of beating any team in MCG in a dry condition. We need some luck to maintain the 4th, defeat Collingwood in the QF, have one extra week off, and then our chances will improve. By the way, the bookies still consider us the 2nd favorite to win the premiership, indicating they hold the Carl vs Melb game in high regard. Have a good day!

What a cracking game! The Tackles count was Carl 87 vs Melb 88. I have to say Carlton is a very, very good team now. In my view, they're better than Collinwood, Brisbane and Port Adelaide. I don't know about this year yet but they will be a strong force next year. They're well trained and very hungry. Tonight, they handled the slippery ball better than us, in the final 10 minutes, their composure was better than us. The Errors count was Carl 59 vs Melb 74, Efficiency was Carl 72 vs Melb 66. They got easy goals, like the two from centre bounce in the earlier 4th quarter, we didn't. In Rd 13 vs Collinwood, we kicked 8 goals totally, Fritsch kicked 3 of them. We kicked 8 goals tonight, what the beautiful shots were from ANB, Smith and Kozzie. I don't feel bad actually, looking forward to meet them again in final series. Dees, you're good, you're capable to do better next time around, I believe in you.
-
He's getting better quarter by quarter.
-
That's a tough shot. ANB!
-
You can have a look on Weatherzone's Vic Radar and Melb Radar, it looks ok for tonight's game, the rainband might go across north part of Melbourne.
-
We’ll beat Carlton. We’ll apply even more pressure on Carlton than we did on Collinwood in Rd13. ANB is on the rise… It looks like he’s in great shape and has a lot of energy. He might have an opportunity to shine in this year's final series. Go Dees!

@Freddy Fuschia on your "Form Swings" Let me give it a try. In Rd1 the Blues had a draw with Richmond; In Rd2 they beat Geelong by 8 (Cats wasn't good in that period); In Rd3 they beat GWS by 10 (GWS wasn't doing well in that period either, they lost to WC by 19 in Rd2); In Rd4 they beat NM by 23. After that, they started losing... On the field, the players seemed unhappy about something, could it be the game plan? Moving on to Rd13, Monday-the King’s Birthday game, Goodwin and co had prepared a very good plan, we controlled most of the game, and beat the Pies by 4. Voss looked on: “Haha, you guys beat the benchmark, the game plan must be good… okay, let me borrow some good ideas from it”. Over the next 5 days, Voss had to work his butt off but managed to get everything done. Then their Sunday‘s game arrived, and their players performed well… The rest is the story.
-
Good job, well done Dees.
-
We'll beat the blues.
-
Sorry. I'd say it was us in Rd 13 showed other teams how to beat the pies. We had had a very good plan for that game, Goodwin relaxed even when we were behind, he smiled to the ch7 camera once during the game.
-
A good team starts strongly, can hold the lead; once behind, able to give a quick response; or come from a long way back to win a game in an empty stadium, like we did in Rd 23 in 2021. Collinwood is very much questionable in my opinion.

A slight worry is the late afternoon rain; otherwise I’d be confident we’ll beat Richmond by 5-15 points. Go Dees! From a new article: ”Statistics show Carlton are ranked 5th in the AFL for scores against per entry and 6th for inside 50s against. Remarkably, 15 of the last 18 premiership winners have ranked in the top six for both of those categories–and the only other club currently joining the Blues in the top six for both is Melbourne.” On Richmond, here is one of my good memories: One year, there was one game between Richmond and another team in MCG, the scores were tight. With only 5 minutes left and Richmond behind, forwarder Nathan Brown ran back to help their back line—how sweet he was. He managed to take a mark 50 meters out and swiftly kicked a beautiful long-distance goal. He raised his arms, beaming with a smile… then he stopped: “How come no teammate is running towards me? How come they put their heads down? Holy sh*t, I kicked an own goal!” I love Tigerland, keep your good work, Tigers, you are the best!

We'll beat Richmond by 5-15 points.

This year's draw has turned out very good for us. Expect a big party time for Adelaide in the 4th quarter. Go Crows!
