  1. Hahahaha, you should be a barrister, a lawyer or a fortune teller.
  2. This is the most difficult situation we have faced since the year 2021, serving as a significant test for our team and individuals. It's time to show your true colors! Go Dees!
  3. I saw a dark horse in GWS up-and-coming, they might be capable of knocking PA and the pies out of the finals series. Just be patient.
  4. Just let you guys know this link as well: https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-tribunal-news-2023-live-updates-hearings-blog-results-brayden-maynard-bump-on-angus-brayshaw-collingwood-vs-melbourne/news-story/3325b4ccac342990b87342ddfb510c0b
  5. Thanks, LG, I almost forgot Maynard was there, all I can recall is the chain of play: McGover’s mark and kick——Vardy’s mark and kick——Liam Rayn’s mark and kick——Dom Sheed’s mark and goal. After Dom Sheed’s mark, “Maynard gestured to umpire Brett Rosebury a blocking free kick to be paid, but the appeal fell on deaf ears “(The Age). During the same match, Liam Ryan crunched Maynard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwC2PWwbEMI “The hit is deemed a legal hip-and-shoulder by umpires since Ryan didn't catch Maynard high or in the back”(Daily Mail). I don’t have any issues with that bump because it was in front of Maynard’s body, and it may have pushed the air out of him for a moment. Maynard briefly left the field but returned later. If Maynard had made a similar bump to Gus, as long as directed at the front of the body and not the head, I would have accepted it,
  6. I've heard stories from some senior Aussies about how rough it was when they played the game in their youth, and I believed what they shared. Times are changing, and we likely engage our minds more frequently in our daily lives today than in the past. For example, we can accomplish a multitude of tasks on the internet and connect with people worldwide. Looking ahead, having a healthy brain could become even more crucial for everyone. Therefore, I fully support the AFL in taking measures to protect players from "high head contact." I understand that some former players may perceive this incident as part of the game, no big deal, but they have well-functioning brains that enable them to express their opinions. On the other hand, there may be former players still enduring the effects of brain injuries, rendering them unable to share their point of view.
  7. Maynard weighs 93 kg, Max Gawn is 111 kg. If Gawn did to Maynard what Maynard had done to Brayshaw, the impact could be even more severe.
  8. "The Match Review Officer and executive general manager of football Laura Kane graded the incident as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact." I totally agree with her.
  9. On the AFL website, under full replays for Rd23 Melb vs Hawthorn (55:00), and for Rd24 Syd vs Melb (1:28.20), Laurie showcased his exceptional kicking skill by delivering 2 marvelous balls to the forwards. The 1st one was a banana kick from his out right boot, the 2nd one’s direction, flying distance and height were all perfect. Both Melksham and Kozzie comfortably marked those kicks, and they each scored a goal afterward. One good turn deserves another. Since we lack tall forwarders, precision kicks to the forward line are crucial and really needed.
  10. On the AFL website, under full replays for Rd13 Melbourne vs Collingwood, I really enjoy watching the video clip 44:50-46:30. Darcy Moore was defending against Fritsch, who managed to mark the ball and score his second goal. Between 46:20-46:30, the camera angle was excellent, and the slow motion showed how Fritsch outmaneuvered Moore step by step. Moore is 2.03m and 100 kg, while Fritsch is 1.88m and 84 kg. It’s just fantastic!
  11. Here are the AFL and Melb's average tackles and contested possessions per game for the past three H/A seasons: 2023 AFL Tackles 61.8 Melb 61.7 AFL Cont.poss 136 Melb 145.7 2022 AFL Tackles 58.3 Melb 56.5 AFL Cont.poss 136.9 Melb 148.4 2021 AFL Tackles 57.4 Melb 62.2 AFL Cont.poss 136 Melb 148.6 Over these three years, Melb consistently had the highest contested possessions. Our tackling was in the mid-range this year(better than last year), but we had two recent high numbers: 88 tackles against Carl in Round 22 (Carl 87), and 79 tackles against Syd in Round 24 (Syd 76). In the Sydney game, Viney, ANB and Mills(Syd) each made 12 tackles, the highest individual number among all the games in Round 24. I reckon ANB has never laid so many tackles in a single game before(his average tackles per game was 4.7 this year). He is in great form.
  12. I'd like to share some personal thoughts with demonlanders. Out of all the games in the H/A season, I found Rd22 Carlton vs Melbourne to be the toughest, and Rd19 PA vs Collingwood as the second toughest. In the latter game, it was a showdown between the top two teams at the time, with Collingwood missing Will Hoskin-Elliott, while Port Adelaide had a full lineup. If we could somehow get the Rd19 Port Adelaide team and Collingwood's, and the Rd22 Carlton team and Melbourne's, and have them compete against each other, I believe Carlton would have beaten Port Adelaide and Collingwood, and we would have beaten them too. I also think that both Melbourne and Carlton have another level to reach in the finals series, but I can't see Collingwood and Port Adelaide having that same potential. I'd rate the potential performance "gear" of each team: Melbourne: One gear Carlton: One gear St Kilda: Half a gear Collingwood: A quarter gear Brisbane: A quarter gear Port Adelaide: A quarter gear GWS: A quarter gear (maybe half a gear) Sydney: A quarter gear For a while, I thought Ken Hinkley was a very good coach during the H/A season. However, his problem was that he allowed Port Adelaide to give their best during the regular season, leaving almost no "gear" for the finals. Even though he might have the best Port Adelaide team now, I still have doubts. I also have doubts about Craig McRae. He's done a great job since early last year, and his playing style is attractive and good to watch. However, I wonder why no other coaches tried this style before him. When it comes to the finals, I don't think any of the other seven teams would let Collingwood play in their style. In fact, they are all capable of slowing down Collingwood's offense. I expect Collingwood's playing style to face more tests next year from teams like Melbourne, Carlton, Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, Hawthorn, St Kilda, and GWS. They have some big challenges ahead.
  13. I don't know what's inside Petracca's mindset, but I do know my own mindset for the QF. I believe Carlton could and will beat Sydney. Therefore, I want Dees to send Collingwood to Carlton on Thursday night, and then have Carlton send Collingwood back to the Collingwood district a week later 😊
  14. Smith's mark in Rd19-Adel game was the surprised one. Kind of like-Who is him? Where did he come from?
  15. Haha EO, that's my mistake. 'quite' and 'quiet', 'tried' and 'tired'... they are all sort of like twins in front of my eyes, I'd often misjudged them.
  16. I like him more and more. He is a self-driven, reliable and quite achiever.
  17. To Melksham, in case you won't be able to come back on time for the QF, don't worry, I'm quite sure your team mates will beat Collingwood. Take your time and get your body right, hopefully you can come back for the Prelim, we need you by then. To Laurie, your lightning-strike kick to Kozzie was Magnificent, keep your good work. To Brayshaw, you have been playing excellent footy for 6-7 weeks now, have a good break, see you in the QF.
  18. I'd say they will have a bit more winning chance at Gabba than playing against pies at MCG.
  19. Yes, that's what I thought. We're going to run Swans off their feet in the 4th quarter. After Carlton had 2 tough close games in a row, GWS should be able to beat them. Have a good day!
  20. My final 8: 1 Collingwood 2 Brisbane 3 Port Adelaide 4 Melbourne 5 Carlton 6 St Kilda 7 GWS 8 Sydney
  21. Now it's Brisbane's turn, they have to win their game.
  22. Essendon needs a new coach, might be Chris Scott?
