  1. With all due respect I would hardly say Dunstan or Chandler got a go. Chandler was consistently only named as a sub and on the rare time that we actually used our sub in 2022 he was unfortunately suspended for a run down tackle and never got another look in despite strong performances at Casey. Heaven forbid we pick a small forward that is prepared to chase and tackle, when your team is 17th in the competition for pressure acts.
  2. Maybe I’m being pedantic and these are very small things but they add up and it didn’t feel like a Melbourne Home final to me. Firstly the purple illumination of the exterior of the MCG. I understand why but I personally thought that the tribute done prior to the game was fitting enough and lighting should have been red and blue prior to game and maybe go purple post game. For the second game in a row a supporter in opposition colours tossed the coin. Finally the lion noise after a Brisbane goal. As a club I don’t think we are parochial enough. In no ways does this influence the result of the game but it does influence my feeling of it being a Melbourne home final having gone the last few weeks.
  3. At the very least Yze should be forward line coach next year
  4. With the disappointment of going out in straight sets the PR department at the Melbourne Football Club needs to give us something on this front now as this is where our attention will now turn. This fixation with it being near the MCG is so restrictive to it actually getting done. Form a partnership with the Melbourne Racing Club and be a part of the redevelopment of the Caulfield Race Course and build there. Ticks so many boxes, Melbourne supporter heartland, public transport on hand, enough land to use, opportunity for community shared use for grants / funding, not as far too travel for majority of players as Casey ( although I do like Casey as a facility and it’s potential) Everything we could need or want can be some there. And if you get a on a City bound Cranbourne or Pakenham line train it’s only 3 [censored] train stations from the MCG as lost trains are express, not quite a stones throw from the MCG but more skimming of stones. Get it done and get it done quickly MFC!!!!!
  5. Well I guess I can now disregard the email the club sent about registering for the ballot for grand final tickets
  6. I just want to see a more attacking mindset. Attack the ball, attack the player with the ball and when we have it attack the goals.
  7. News just in, Melbourne’s clash strip for 2023 will be all beige.
  8. We did, but also lost 7 of 13 games since round 10. It would be nice to have another club in the bag other than your one wood that’s all. Either change personnel if they aren’t adhering to method or change the method to suit the personnel. We haven’t and we could have.
  9. As much as I despise Chris Scott as a person. What he has done well is integrate young players into the team over the years with the protection senior players. We have had opportunities to integrate players this year, being 10-0, injured players, players returning too soon from injury. We have had opportunities to do so this year but have not aside from possibly Bedford. For me we have had players at Casey deserving of an opportunity but not given one other than being named in a squad. We have had players in the ones underperforming that have not been kept honest by dropping them. Sure we finished second on the ladder with a relatively hard draw which you have to be happy with but I feel that we have missed opportunities to be better with player selection, development and method. Anything less than a Preliminary final berth will be an epic fail. The buzz word for us this year was to be “ruthless” as a football club. I don’t think we have been unfortunately.
  10. Well with Zorko, Mathieson and co coming to town next Friday night I hope we are a rabid boooing crowd. I am thinking of a quick fly in fly out of Perth for a captains run of booing.
  11. The larger ground didn’t stop us from kicking it out of bounds on the full more than I care to remember
  12. I’m really, really, really hoping that was a result of gastro because that was [censored]
  13. Zorko is a giant skid mark on the underpants of society!!!!!
  14. I hope it was full of laxatives. It’s only fair he gives viewers the [censored] all night.
  15. Happy for Grundy to go to Geelong and convince Esava Ratugolea to come to Melbourne
  16. Be interesting to know where his good mate and fellow Western Australian heads at in Trent Rivers. Will he want to go back home to and if so can we package the 2 in a trade to Freo for some gun Victorian boys in Young, Serong etc I understand they are all contracted but worth asking the question.
  17. I can only hope so. As great as it was lifting the cup last year it wasn’t here and your core of supporters couldn’t be there or celebrate it unless you were prepared to risk doing time in the McGowan daycare centre. I want to see my team Melbourne, win the grand final in Melbourne.
  18. We were the buzz team last year. Collingwood are the buzz team now. They have large supporter base. TV commentators are jumping on them to appeal to that mass supporter base. Although I am not too sure what time lights are out at Port Phillip Prison.
  19. You’re tall Max but you’re not a [censored] Harlem Globe Trotter. Stop spinning the ball in your hands on your set shot routine. Much harder to hit a moving target.
  20. It is our Achilles heel at the moment. With the increase in soft cap spend next year we need to invest in a specialist forward coach. I like Greg Stafford, nobody can bang a Gatorade container drum style like him during the team song. He is a premiership ruck / forward coach and credit to home for that.He has never been a specialist forward and right now that is what we need. We got away with it last year but not this year. Leading patterns are wrong, games with zero tackles in forward line, no front and square smalls, smalls flying for marks and spoiling our talks, dump kicks to forward pocket which makes it harder to score. We should not have lost that game last night. Statistically and to the naked eye we had enough chances to win easily. We also let them slingshot from defence way to easily. That is on the forwards. Aces in their places get a specialist forward coach in and Stafford to concentrate on the rucks.
  21. I would just love to see some variation to the plan occasionally. Obviously our game plan has served us well but when it isn’t working in game why not change it up as we are so predictable. Why do we ALWAYS kick our from full back to the left side of the ground. Why can’t we switch from a zone defence to one on one in game. Why is our default kick into the forward line to a pocket. I hope we have something up our sleeve for finals and it is not just blind faith and stubbornness as we have been worked out or it isn’t working as well as it should. There needs to be change whether it be “method” or personnel.
