  1. .

If this had been sorted MAYBE we would have got a small token for releasing CB or MAYBE we would have kept Cheney or MAYBE we would have kept on Junior as insurance for another year.

Met Cheney at Christchurch airport and he admitted that he wanted a change.

You have no idea what you are talking about

  2. I see in the teams released for tonights game that there is no mention of which is the sub, just the same as last year with 4 on the interchange and three emergencies

Do they release who will be the sub 90 minutes before the game when they put in their fiinal team sheet?

If this is the case the sub could be any one of 7 people (the 4 on the bench and three emergencies)

This may well become a very tactical thing, depending on weather sometimes, which will be interesting

  3. I should clarify - I believe the intention of having Newton or Martin as the sub (as proposed by jnrmac and backed up by ucanchoose), is as relief for Jamar.

I'm pointing out why I believe this would not work.

My point was that there would need to be a backup for Jamar on the bench, are we going to play that person in the 21?

If not, which was my point, is that MAYBE they would have someone that could be used as a ruckman/backman/dodgy foward option (like a Newton or a Martin) who could cover a variety of positions.

We need ruck cover somwhere, where will it be. Some clubs will run with 2 in the 21, some won't. I think we won't. Some clubs will have an extra mid as the sub. I'm not sure we will. That is all

Where is your ruck help for Jamar in your squad E25?

  4. Brisbane were tipped for w spoon but played beautifully.

They couldn't kick and we had a backline/midfield half of which were skinny little kids. There general field kicking was abysmal at times. Broke us apart more often with chain of good handballs (usually included black)

They'll be lucky to finish outside the bottom 4 mark that down (much to the disgust of the idiot sitting next to me today who sounded like they had a top 4 spot in the bag!)

I'm not sure Voss can coach himself out of a paperbag when it matters. Staker in the forward line shows what a dodgy forward line they will have. One of the biggest hacks on their list

  5. The main concern seemed to be our backline in total disarray.

I read to here then gave up. We were missing Garland, Grimes, Bartram and Frawley from our best 6 defensemen. 4 OF 6!!!!!!!!!!! What were your expecting to see today? Miracles? Tapscott was good and might get a game which was nice to see. The rest played like we expect them to. Rivers can't kick (or think about what he's doing with the ball in general) and Macdonald has brain explosions.

Gee....... Tell me something I don't know

  6. Our forward line will rely on quick play, punishing kicking and just a hint of freakishness.............

Miller has none of these qualities. I saw a little last night that was very good to see.

Richmond on the other hand, have nothing.

  7. I met Cam Bruce and Kyle Cheney at Christchurch airport last monday morning. I waited until they had checked in then went up to them, introduced myself as a Melbourne supporter and wished them good luck. Both were very gracious, especially Cam. Probably a bit shocked that someone recognised them. Although Travis Tuck's smararse comment wasn't really appreciated very much. Nearly shot back a smartarse comment of my own

One thing I will say though, is if the way that the Hawthorn Football Club dress and act at a foreign airport is anything to go by they aren't going to win much. Poorly dressed (most wearing thongs for an international flight!), and just didn't look like a professional bunch. If that was a visiting schoolboy rugby team, you would have been horrified. Wouldn't have picked them as professionals at all. Just looked like a bunch of guys on a end of year [censored] trip

  8. West Coast doing it like this is shocking. At least we tell the blokes they are no good and get out at the end of the season.

To wait to see what you drafted to see if someone is expendable is...... well words can't describe. Typical Wet Toast through and through, a dog act if ever I saw one.

    Feel sorry for him

  9. Same here. One of the things I really regret about my parents splitting up when I was little is that I don't get to go to the footy with my dad.

    I totally understand.....

My parents hadn't split at the time, but Dad was ALWAYS at work. We lived in Tasmania at the time and he NEVER once saw me play a game or watched a game together. I kicked the winning grand final goal (a reverse banana from beside the point post) one year, looked up to see Mum there clapping, and Dad nowhere to be seen. Now I take my boys every week, and never miss and Auskick session. Every year when the draw is released I book flights to an interstate game for a long weekend away with them. Next year is Brisbane. They love it and still talk about them and remember them years later.

  10. But they're both the same price, so you would obviously take the BMW.

If you really needed the ute the you could take the BMW now, then sell it. With that value you could buy your ute and still have enough left over to buy a Commodore.

    Ute + Commodore > Ute.

But then you still have to pay the rego on a useless Commodore which defeats the purpose
