I like Watts and want him to succeed. I know yesterday he kept leading into good spots going into the forward line and they didn't kick him the ball, but sometimes when he was up the ground he was calling for the ball when he was in a worse position than the guy that had it. This takes valuable decision making time away from the ball carrier.

What I think is happening here to some extent is he's getting frustrated at not getting the ball so he just starts calling for it when it's not required. What I would do this week and for a long time really, is just leave him in the forward 50 and tell him to keep making good leads from deep and things will improve. Things will get better and that contested mark last week should have done him the world of good. We have enough players to play high half forward, just leave him deep to kick to and the crumbs will drop to the little fellas

As good as his second half was. His first quarter was appalling.

Hearing him being interviewed on SEN this morning, talking about his brain training for rehabilitation and that things are improving was good to hear. He is getting the help he needs which is good. He stated in the interview the club was good to him during his playing days, so I'm not sure re: the compensation claim.

Well Chris Connelly was on 774 and said that Samantha Lane had held onto this story for a couple of weeks to make sure it was fair and balance and club was doing all that it could to help Bell

MLB has also just introduced a 7 day DL for concussions based on a speight of high profile incidents in the last few years

He was also cleaned up one day playing for Casey between the outer wing and forward flank in 08 or 09. I can't remember who it was against but he pretty much staggered around for the rest of the quarter not knowing who, or where he was. It was a clean hit, right on the boundary line but clearly did some damage at the time

Pretty sure Campbell was also recruited because he would assist in the development of our young players.

It may have slipped through to the keeper for some, but in his time out of AFL he started up a program developing kids to be more AFL-ready before they get drafted.

I don't think we really intended for him to play (AFL) at all -- the idea was for him to act as an on-field development coach at training & in the VFL.

Even when he can't get out there because of injury, he'd act as a valuable mentor.

If this was the case, wouldn't they have talked to him before the draft about it? Campbell was on SEN the day after the draft and had NO IDEA what Melbourne were thinking. Weird to draft a guy they had no intention of playing (which I don't believe)

Urged on by Jason Dunstall, Alistair Lynch (Tom Scully manager) said Scully is doing absolutely fantastically (implying he has veryhigh value), and said "I'm sure he will sign a contract at the end of the year" to which Jason Dunstall said "which means he is going to GWS". Lynch just smiled.

I did. They asked who he would suggest as good for a dream team for cheap and he said Maric or Strauss. Both interesting selections

If you want amateur hour, take a look at the Adelaide/Hawthorn game when Richard Tambling had a 50 given against him for playing on from a Hawks free kick, when in fact the had umpire pointed the wrong way. What annoyed me about it was that having the umpire point in the wrong direction seems to happen all the freaking time. Surely pointing in the right direction for a free is umpiring 101.

What was even worse was the players were telling him that's what he did and all he said was "No I didn't" repeatedly in a silly little grade 2 voice.

It was replayed and shown what he did and I rewound it on the IQ2 and watched it about half a dozen times as well. That's what we are ALL up against
