My 2 cents worth for the players I went to see.
Gawn - Get the man in the side. Made Hudson looked third or fourth rate.
Scully - Could have played with one arm and still dominate.
Blease - Was good, did a few nice things.
Wonna - In and out of the game. Not really that happy to be honest.
Strauss - Very very happy. Strong and good with the ball (unlike Warnock or McDonald). Ended up marking Huson a few times in the backline when they did a switch. gave away 4 inches but dead set towelled him up, even overhead.
McNamara - not VFL level
Howe - Was good and definitely in the mix, not great entry into our forward line for half the game didn't help his cause.
-
IN: Scully, Trengove, Gawn (depending on tomorrow, can't wait!)
Out: Morton, Bennell, Newton (depending on Gawn's game)
Essendon have lots and lots of tall timber.

It was a very poor coaching display imo. These young kids need to be given the freedom to play a quick, flowing, offensive and exciting brand of football. The team was very restricted tonight because Bailey had no faith in the squad.
Essendon tried that, unsuccessfully, then sacked the coach.

More excuses, just what we need.
It's not excuses, it's a FACT. This week, and the next couple are irrelevant for anything but identifying talent that's not up to it. There's no point getting upset, we have no cattle at the moment. Tomorrow's game has more relevance that tonights game.

3 of our best backline out
4 of our best midfield out
Jurrah is clearly injured.
What the hell did you expect?
-
Well, thank god for this match ... at least something to look forward to this weekend.
That's what I said to the guys at work. I'm excited to take the boys down there to watch scully and have a kick on the ground!
-
Doesn't happen to be the ABC televised game?
No, that's Collingwood v Coburg
-
Do we have to pay to get in? Or will the Casey membership be ok?
-
Given Jones has had zero clearances and 2 tackles last week, I don't really see how he could line up on Judd and do a decent job.
hard to get a clearance playing on the half back flank
-
I don't understand why more clubs don't do a Carlton. There strip is what some would say "God Awful". But it doesn't clash with anything in the league, it's a clear contrast to anything else either at the game or on tv, and apparently they sell more of them that they can make at the moment. You can make money from something different. Why not have something less traditional? Lets make some money

Goddard had 24 handballs. Mostly on the half back line, in a panicked motion to a team mate because he had no idea what to do with the ball. He wasn't that good
Riewoldt although had lots of the ball was well held by Frawley.
I thought Gwilt had 5 good minutes in the whole game.
-
Although Riewoldt had 31 possessions, I thought that Watts was just as good. Both kicked 2 goals ( not counting the 50m penalty) and Riewoldt kicked two out of bounds and one on the full. Watts just demanded the ball it the corridor so many times it was good to see.
-
Watts was great. He uses the ball exceptionally well and creates a contest. I would start him and half forward and let him drift back and play through the centre. He's going to be a gun. He's huge and well and is going to knock somebody out Neitz style
-
Hopefully you're joking. Either that or where you were sitting was so far from the ground you honestly couldn't see him.
He was woeful.
Deserves 5 weeks for a crude bump on Pratt early on. Then proceeded to give free kicks away left right and centre, soft (again) in marking contests, didn't get involved in the play, and generally looked like a VFL reserves player.
Didn't deserve a game last week. Didn't deserve a game this week. Doesn't deserve a game next week (and won't get one), nor for a long time.
I just asked what he got reported for. Geez. Maybe I was tending to child at the time, I just didn't see it. I did see the rest of his game which was appalling.
-
Sorry but Dangerfield goes hard.
Forget what happened last week, it wasn't his fault that the MRP are a bunch of morons.
Dangerfield is an excellent player, with a very soft head. He doesn't dive and he doesn't cheat his way to possessions.
Harvey just hangs out the back, taking cheap shots at his tagger, and as soon as his tagger touches him he is down like he's been shot. He is a disgrace.
Disagree. Dangerfield has had lots of very soft games, where he's done nothing.
I'm a Harvey hater too though. Had enough of North games.
-
I'm shocked that the umpires continue to reward Harvey for being such a diving dog.
Hard to think of an AFL player I respect less, despite him being an excellent player in general.
Patrick Dangerfield says hello....

Can someone tell me what Dunn did. Was sitting top level Coventry end and can't remember anything bad he did
-
Possibly.
If we can somehow slow down Boomer, it'll be a very close game.
However if he gets on top, it's game over.
Bail gets that job, no question.

I don't know what I hate more, North Melbourne or Eat-your-hat stadium............... Or Brad (look at me, all I do is whinge) Scott
I'd love to pump them by 10 goals and shut a few pie holes from a irrelevant club. Maybe I'm dreaming
-
I flew back in from NZ for the game. Good thing too! After last week's effort I was going to stay an extra day for Mother's Day but decided against it.
Couldn't believe my luck!

Please, please please. No Rivers
-
What else were you expecting?? I thought G Lyon was straight down the line.
I was expecting him to say "No, I don't want he *&%ing job", after being ribbed into giving an answer to a question that was barely given a thought.
Or "you've got 4 weeks to sort it out or things must move on for next year without Bailey".
-
nearly as soft a segment as we play footy. What a waste of time waiting for that!
-
Garry pretty chippy right from the start. He's not happy about something!
Williamstown v Casey Scorpions

Mate, you wouldn't know. Everybody that was anybody was wearing street clothes. Walked right past Bailey and Viney the first time without recognising them. Probably some Essendon guys there, you just wouldn't know
