With what they bring I can easily see Bowey and Laurie being best 22 next year. Could be as early as round 1.

Neither played footy this year,   one of them could play Round 1 hard to see both in the side.

Maybe missing a year of junior footy wont affect them at all, who knows.

  2. I know its annoying play Geelong in Geelong in the last round, but imagine how sweet it would be to beat them down there.

I welcome the opportunity to break their hearts and hopefully cost them a top 4 or finals spot.

    9. Trent Rivers will be in All-Australian contention

Zak Butters was the surprise All-Australian squad bolter in his second year — and Rivers could be in the mix for a similar feat in his second AFL season. When Rivers regained his place in Melbourne’s senior line-up late in 2020, he slotted in with aplomb, having between 14 and 16 disposals in each of his last six games. His composure across half-back will be well noticed, not only by Demons fans, but the All-Australian selection panel.

well at least we won't have to worry about socially distancing for this round assuming we get to go.

The latest NSW outbreak shows that 2021 isn't going to be normal by any stretch.

Will the players put up with another bubble season?

I thought the magical vaccines would fix everything.

Surely the media, big pharma and government haven't been lying to us?   ?

I'm happy we're playing at the G, but that opening round (aside from Pies V Bullies) is an out and out snore fest.

Rich v Carl - traditional opening mismatch

    Pies v Dogs - tick

    Adelaide v Geelong - 2nd v 18th last year - yawn

Ess v Haw - battle of the has beens

Bris v Syd - wake me up when it's over

North V Port - prolong the agony

GWS v Saints - might be a good contest but who cares

WCE v Gold Coast - excellent reason to go out

Who isn't looking for a big footy fix in Round 1 after months of nothing? Well not with this line-up.

Geelong with a gift to start the season.  Plus all their home games to come.  Would love to know why the AFL looks after them every season.

Nice!  Good test first up.  Freo should be very competitive next season and we traditionally do terrible in Round 1.

We have to start winning on the MCG, our record there under Goodwin is shocking.

If we’re aiming for Isaac Smith why not aim a little higher? And a big physical wingman who took time to learn his craft (as Rosman will) with 99 games in the reserves?

Let’s see if we can make him the next Dipper

Hes nothing like Isaac Smith, no idea why people are comparing them

Unless Isaac Smith is a 194cm athletic beast with a huge leap?

Back again for another year of predicting our footy fortunes or lack thereof.

Due to popular demand, there is now a template! Points will be allocated to determine a winner with 1 point for each correct answer unless otherwise indicated.

I’ve included an 'Other MFC predictions' field for those who want to go off road with their prognostications. Only non-obvious predictions will earn a point. Predicting Oliver to have more than 15 possessions against North will not earn a point.

    Happy ball gazing.
