    t. He didn't do much in his debut season with 4 goals in 7 games. Presumably wasn't ready for the big time.

That sounds familiar.  Those impatient folk writing off Kozzie might wanna hold off for a few more seasons yet.

I got down to Casey today. It was good to be back watching the boys live. I waltzed into the ground and moved around at will, until Benny Gibson came over and told me I was welcome to stay, but that I had to stay in a certain part of the ground. So I stood just in front of Jeff Farmer and Matty Whelan who were on the hill chatting for hours!
    Some observations:
-Brayshaw, Pickett and Lockhart made up the re-hab group. (Although vandenBerg and May spent time working away from the group with the fitness staff.) Gus did quite a bit of light running and kicking. They ran Kozzie into the ground.
-Jordan Lewis was there today. He even did the interval running with the players at the end of training.
-Choco ran a drill early where the focus was on kicking. He was very vocal and dead against players kicking around corners.
-Clayton Oliver was wearing a pink hat at training. I'm not sure why, but I overheard he was wearing it because he came first in something.
-T-Mac was a stand out for me. He marked and moved well. He seemed to be involved in everything.
-Jake Lever was by far the most vocal on the ground. He likes dropping the f-bomb, does old Jake.
-Jayden Hunt was training with the defenders. Melksham was with the mids and spent a lot of time out on the wing in match sim.
-Kobe Farmer and Deakyn Smith were training with the group. Both looked lively at times without standing out.
-A lot of the drills were focussed around ball movement, defensive structures and delivering the ball inside 50. There was a lot of stopping of the play by coaches to talk through the way players were setting up on the ground at various times.

I'm happy to answer any questions.

Thanks TKent.  Between you and @Lucifer's Hero giving us training reports, I finally feel a twinge of excitement for the coming season.

Worse than the HS, the Daily Mail have been all over this like it's watergate.

I thought the Dailymail only posted (paid for) articles about Bec Judd.  Good to see them branching out.

Look at what the cat dragged in.  I wondered when you would have the nerve to post in this thread again.

You've finally emerged from under your rock and are doing a great impression of a dog returning to its vomit.

Any chance you'll stop this nonsense when Biden is inaugurated and your man Donny is in jail?

Settle down man, the footys back soon.

Seems so P2J. Remember my old days  in Melbourne at a local club in the eastern suburbs. One days training, normally Thursday night followed by heaps of drinks, be crook Friday and play well (sometimes) on the Saturday. Sure many of you did this.

The AFLPA was the worst thing to happen to footy.   They are nothing but lazy primadonnas these days.

No surprise that Dangerfield is their president.

I agree, they were so very respectful. Smashing windows and looting offices etc is no crime, nor is stealing property. Yes, Trump is gonna win, of course he is, P2J. Now, can I suggest a good lie down, an ingestion of about 15 valiums, and wash it down with your tipples of choice and when you wake up, the world might be a different place. You'll no doubt wake up in the heaven your evangelical mentors have prescribed and you can maybe have a game of golf with St Paul, maybe even Jesus, who, I hear, is gonna play at one of Donnie's Scottish courses, provided he doesn't have top self quarantine from heaven and have to wear a mask.

Ok so i was wrong, you are easily manipulated by the media.   And you must really hate Trump if you are defending the US congress.  Thought you were against wars?

     I am not religious.

You've gone quiet, duckie. No bragging after THE BIG EVENT you were warning us about. I just saw a Youtube Interview with one of the heroes who the Police allowed to 'storm' the Capitol. Apparently one of them called for a Prayer to God when they stood in the Senate. I can just imagine God looking down and feeling proud of these lunatic yokels.

But then again, Ain't that America!!!! Land of the Free. I know, P2J, they was Antifas in disguise...And, I know, Donald T is still gonna win...

I am glad you know there was no riot at the capitol. The people were walking around inside respecting the property and not damaging anything.  Sad how many people are easily gaslit by the media.

Too bad they didn't burn it to the ground.  This is the same building where congress vote to send young people into meaningless wars like lambs to the slaughter so politicians and special interests can get rich.  And now they claim the Capitol is some holy site that should be revered.  [censored] them, they are all heinous criminals (and worse) and should be treated as such.

    Trump will win btw.

2018 we had a clear game plan.
    Since then, we haven’t.

We didnt even have one in 2018.  We won through sheer weight of numbers by dominating clearances and getting an ungodly amount of inside 50's

West Coast showed in the prelim final how easy we were to beat.  Now they had a gameplan.

Yes a coach is responsible for motivation and creating the optimal environment that supports a win. And of course selecting the right players.

But when it is all said and done, once the game starts it is 95%,  maybe more, on the players. And doubts about goody should not obscure the fact that the players selected in those two games failed and let the club and fans down. They have to wear it.

I'd hate to see blame disproportionately sheeted to goody rather than where it should go- the players.

The players have never had a game plan under Goodwin, whos been there for 5 years.

We have the cattle, but the coach has been a fail so far.  Maybe he improves next season, maybe not.

Just read the AFL article.  Jones was the only one who did not achieve All-Australian status. Most of the others had multiple AA representation. Sad but true.

Jones has never made the AA squad of 40.

He has been a warrior for us, but if you're a great team a player like Jones is either your 7th or 8th best mid or hes in the seconds.

Also, it seems like four is the magic number for gun midfielders.

I sometimes wonder how far his team would go if we could trade out Gawn for an equivalent mid.

Lets say for example we had swapped Gawn for Josh Kelly and kept Preuss.

Which midfield would be better -

Preuss, Petracca, Oliver, Kelly, Langdon, Brayshaw, Viney, Salem

    or

Gawn, Petracca, Oliver, Langdon, Brayshaw, Viney, Salem, Harmes

For me its the first one easily.  A competent ruck is all thats needed when you have an elite midfield.  Just look at any recent flag winner.
