The List
Pendlebury is an all time great. Generational player. But who on the list has attitributes of evasion in traffic, knowing his exit option before hes got the ball and hitting them at 78 percent efficient. Ive watched Mcvee closely this year. These are his traits. If theres someone else on our list, i havent seen it.

Absent Naughton, Larkey would be an amazing get. Dude kicks bags, kicks straight and takes marks. He'd probably leave 500k on the table contract wise over the next 4 years coming to us, but he'd win about 40 more games and presumably get to play finals. He's contracted but if the approach was made he'd be crazy not to consider it. It can't be that much fun at Norf surely. Probably have to give up a 1st rounder plus decent change. I like JVR but unless he starts taking more marks per game he's not the droid we are looking for.

What They Are Saying At Princes Park
Trac in his interview on 360 mentioned this in so many words. How tackling was being coached by choco and that maybe players need to guide the tacklee* to fall on the tackler. Fwiw, he also mentioned that their efficiency going inside 50 was rubbish on the weekend, particularly himself. I really like Trac, he's honest with himself. * may or may not be a word

More worried about Mckay kicking straight one of these weeks. Broken clock and all. re Cerra. He has 8 goals and 9 goal assists in 29 games with CFC. He is primary a uncontested midfielder who yet cant impact the scorebaord. He is a decent part of the reason they are struggling imo. They paid well overs.

Game plans, tactics and all that jazz
The leak from stoppage D50 is a bit like being a great soccer team, but for whatever reason you were poor at defending corner kicks. Being 18th is not the end of the world, but it will cost you the odd game... which is exactly whats happened. Structurally we don't do a lot wrong, but the naked eye says we lose our men in the traffic on the spread away from the stoppage. Same thing can happen on corner kicks, its 50-50 at times where the ball ends up, and if you're not right on your man its a goal scoring opportunity if it falls in their lap.

Great summary. Although I disagree with "depth not being very good". Your 27th player is not going to be a superstar. If there is a positive, is we are playing horrible football right now and going down by a kick or two. Its not floggings. Heads up lads. Beat the Blues, get the season back on track.

David King First Crack
Gamesmanship 101. Start a brawl, give away a free kick, make it a headline. Whatever. Its 2023. The issues that are front and centre on websites are the one that will be watched on game day by the umpires. Historically Max and co dont make it enough of a focus such that the umpires are forced to watch it. Accordingly, it keeps happening. Brodie Grundy was dismissive of King's observation in his presser. "Oh he doesnt know what is said inside the four walls". Well, to stop it, it needs to be discussed and put on notice outside the four walls. Almost guarantee Fremantle won't get away with it this weekend. Any cheap elbow in the back or fist to the ear will be paid . So yea actually thanks David King.

As a coach sure. As a person, nope sorry you dont get respect just because you win stuff.

You could say that about scores of coaches in the past. They dont quit mid season. Couldnt have a succession plan? (I'm assuming hes quiting totally mid season, maybe he'll see the year out?)

This is the guy that held back a teenager so his teammate Wallis could punch him. Yup real warrior. What a fighter. Tough as nails. Dont let the door hit you on the way out, im sure the team and everyone that depends on you will be fine despite you dont want to honour a contract that pays you exactly what you signed up for. Sorry, not sorry.

Freo's mids are nowhere near as damaging as Port's. Disappoiinting coaching we let them win with their 1-wood last week. (You had one job!) This week Freo shouldnt kick 12 goals if our defense are a top 4 team. Pllease pay Lachie Schultz attention. They've never lost a game where he's kicked 3+ (8 times) and were an absurd 19-2 in games he's kicked 2+ before this year. (3-2 this year). The kid can play and he brings energy when he's on.

The 2023 AFL Fixture
Based on current ladder positions we play 5 of the bottom 8 teams the last 5 rounds. Some of these 6 days breaks are going to be 12 with a bit of mid season form....

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs Yartapuulti
This last point was specifically mentioned by May in the Demonland interview. He even rattlled off a stat about how our scoring from back 50 is competition's best due to the smaller, quicker structure and asked Lever to confirm it. So its something they have now trained for and I daresay is going to stay unless the opposition has 3 genuine talls (which is also something May effectively said).
